Moerkapelle

Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈzeːvə(n)ɦœyzəˌmuːrkaːˈpɛlə] (listen)) is a former municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality was formed on January 1, 1991, through the merger of Moerkapelle and Zevenhuizen. It was initially called Moerhuizen before being renamed to Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle on February 1, 1992.The municipality joined the new municipality of Zuidplas on January 1, 2010. It consisted of the population centres of Moerkapelle, Oud Verlaat, and Zevenhuizen.

Hogeveen is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located in the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, about 2 km south of Hazerswoude-Dorp. Hogeveen (then also spelled Hoogeveen) was a separate municipality between 1817 and 1855, when it merged with Benthuizen. The municipality was often called "Hoogeveen in Rijnland" to distinguish it from the municipality Hoogeveen in Delfland, also in South Holland.

Benthorn is a hamlet in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located in the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, about 2 km east of the centre of Benthuizen. Benthorn used to be a heerlijkheid (manor), owned by the States of Holland and West Friesland. It was sold to Adam Adriaan van der Duyn, lord of 's Gravemoer, in 1724. In 1812, Benthorn became a part of the municipality of Hazerswoude, but on 1 April 1817 it became a separate municipality again.According to the 19th-century historian A.J. van der Aa, in 1840 Benthorn consisted of 0.85 square km and had 10 inhabitants in 2 houses. Because of the small size of the municipality, it was merged into Benthuizen in 1847.Part of the hamlet had to be demolished for the construction of the high speed railway HSL-Zuid, and only three farms remain. The name of the hamlet no longer appears on recent topographical maps of the area.

Kruisweg is a hamlet in the municipality of Lansingerland, in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It used to be part of the former municipality of Bleiswijk and is located close to Moerkapelle. The hamlet consists of a string of houses including a restaurant alongside the Kruisweg road and is located adjacent to a large industrial area.

Zevenhuizen is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is located about 12 km northeast of the city of Rotterdam. Zevenhuizen was a separate municipality until 1991, when it merged with Moerkapelle to form the new municipality of Moerhuizen (renamed in 1992 to Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle). Since 2010 Zevenhuizen-Moerkapelle is part of the new municipality of Zuidplas. It lies between the highway A12 and A20. The Rotte (river) also goes past it and it lies in the Tweemanspolder, Zuidplaspolder and the Eendragtspolder. It is surrounded by the villages Moerkapelle, Waddinxveen, Moordrecht, Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel, Lansingerland, and the neighborhood Nesselande (located in Rotterdam) and Oud Verlaat.

The Zuidplaspolder is a polder in the western Netherlands, located northeast of Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, neighbouring settlements such as Zuidplas, Zevenhuizen, Waddinxveen, Moerkapelle, Gouda, Moordrecht, and Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. It reaches a depth of 6.76 metres (22 feet 2 inches) below average sea level. This makes it, along with Lammefjord in Denmark, the lowest point of the European Union.

Hazerswoude-Dorp is a village in the west of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn, South Holland, about 7 km southwest of the town of Alphen aan den Rijn. Hazerswoude-Dorp is a peat excavation settlement which developed in the Middle Ages. It turned into a linear settlement along the dike on the Oude Rijn. A circular canal was dug around the view to prevent a prolapse of the village.The Dutch Reformed church is a single aisled cruciform church. The tower dates from 1646 as a replacement of its medieval predecessor. The church itself was built in 1658.

Oosterheem is one of the districts (wijken) of Zoetermeer. It lies in the north-east, near Benthuizen. There is a lot of building going on, and it is one of the most recent districts of Zoetermeer. Oosterheem has 23,379 citizens, using 8,554 houses. It has a coverage of 363 ha (370,2 ha with water included).

Benthuizen is a village in the Dutch province of South Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Alphen aan den Rijn and lies about 1 km east of Zoetermeer.

Hazerswoude is a former municipality in the Dutch province of South Holland. It contained the towns of Hazerswoude-Dorp and Hazerswoude-Rijndijk, and the villages of Groenendijk and Bent. Hazerswoude was a separate municipality until 1991, when it became part of Rijneveld.Rijneveld, in 1993 changed in Rijnwoude, has been a part of Alphen aan den Rijn since 2014.
