Colonia Buenavista is a colonia or neighbourhood in the Cuauhtémoc borough located northwest of the historic center of Mexico City. It has historically been a train terminal, and still is as the southern terminal of the Tren Suburbano commuter rail. The colonia is also home to the offices of the Cuauhtémoc borough and the mega José Vasconcelos Library.

Buenavista is a commuter railway station in Mexico City. The station provided intercity train services from Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México. Since June 2008, the station serves as the terminus of the Tren Suburbano commuter rail service. Atop the ground-level station and tracks is one of the city's largest shopping malls, Forum Buenavista. The adjacent Buenavista metro station is also the terminus of Mexico City Metro Line B, that runs from this station to Ciudad Azteca in the State of Mexico. Additionally, three Metrobús lines serve the area.

Buenavista Station (Spanish: Estación Buenavista), also called Buenavista Terminal (Spanish: Terminal Buenavista), was a passenger train station in Mexico City. The station opened in 1873 and since 1909, the station was fully operated by Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México. The station was closed in 2005. By June 2008, the station was replaced by the terminus of the Tren Suburbano commuter rail service.

Buenavista is a station on the Mexico City Metro, in the Colonia Buenavista neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc borough. It is the southwestern terminal station of Line B (the green-on-silver line, Buenavista-Ciudad Azteca). It also offers connections to the Insurgentes Metrobús bus rapid transit line. In 2019, the station had an average ridership of 66,804 passengers per day, making it the tenth busiest station in the network.

Guerrero is a metro station on the Mexico City Metro. It is located in the Colonia Guerrero neighborhood of Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City, on the intersection of Zarco street and Eje 1 Norte Mosqueta Avenue. It is a transfer station for both Lines 3 and B.

The Morisco Kiosk (Local: Kiosco Morisco, English: Moorish Kiosk) is a kiosk structure in Colonia Santa María la Ribera in Mexico City, Mexico. It is situated in the Alameda Park in the center of the Colonia neighborhood, at the intersection of Dr. Atl and Salvador Miron Streets, near Metro Buenavista. The kiosk is built in the neo-Mudejar architectural style that was prevailing in Spain in the 19th century. It is completely made of wrought iron with a glass cupola dome at the top. The kiosk is made of panels that can be disassembled and moved if needed.

Colonia Santa María la Ribera is a colonia located in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City, just west of the historic center. It was created in the late 19th century for the affluent who wanted homes outside of the city limits. The colonia reached its height between 1910 and 1930. In the 1930s, the middle class moved in and a new era of construction began. The colonia began to deteriorate in the 1950s, as the city grew around it and apartment buildings were constructed. Since the 1985 Mexico City earthquake, poorer residents have moved in and economic housing has been constructed. Today, the colonia is a mix of old mansions and homes (with over 1,000 categorized as having architectural or historic value), small shops and businesses, tenements and abandoned buildings. The colonia has one major park and two museums. This area was designated as a "Barrio Mágico" by the city in 2011.

Torre Insignia (also called Torre Banobras and the Nonoalco Tlatelolco Tower) is a building designed by Mario Pani Darqui which is located on the corner of Avenida Ricardo Flores Magón and Avenida de los Insurgentes Norte, in the Tlatelolco housing complex in Cuauhtémoc in Mexico City. At its completion in 1962, the tower became the second tallest building in Mexico after the Torre Latinoamericana. The tower is not currently in use and is being renovated. It is the tallest building in the Tlatelolco area and the third highest in the Avenida Insurgentes. The building housed the headquarters of Banobras. The building has a triangular prism shape and was built with a reinforced concrete frame. It has been remodeled at least twice and is one of the most important buildings in the city, besides having the tallest carillon in the world; there are 47 bells made by Petit & Fritsen.

The Monument to Christopher Columbus, located at the intersection of av. Buenavista and Héroes Ferrocarrileros, in the Cuauhtémoc section of Mexico City, was inaugurated in 1892, for the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' landfall in the Caribbean. The statue is one of two depicting Columbus in Mexico City; Charles Cordier's Monument to Christopher Columbus (1877) is installed along Paseo de la Reforma.

The 12th federal electoral district of Mexico City (Spanish: Distrito electoral federal 12 de la Ciudad de México; previously "of the Federal District") is one of the 300 electoral districts into which Mexico is divided for elections to the federal Chamber of Deputies and one of 22 such districts in Mexico City. It elects one deputy to the lower house of Congress for each three-year legislative session by means of the first-past-the-post system. Votes cast in the district also count towards the calculation of proportional representation ("plurinominal") deputies elected from the fourth region. The current member for the district, elected in the 2024 general election, is Mónica Elizabeth Sandoval Hernández. Originally elected for the Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), she switched allegiance to the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) after the PRD lost its registration as a national party in the aftermath of the election.

Cuauhtémoc (Spanish pronunciation: [kwawˈtemok] (listen)), named after the former Aztec leader, is a borough (demarcación territorial) of Mexico City. It contains the oldest parts of the entity, extending over what was the entire urban core in the 1920s. Cuauhtémoc is the historic and cultural center of the entity, although it is not the geographical center. While it ranks only sixth in population, it generates about a third of the entire entity's GDP, mostly through commerce and services. It is home to the Mexican Stock Exchange, the important tourist attractions of the historic center and Zona Rosa, and various skyscrapers such as the Torre Mayor and the Mexican headquarters of HSBC. It also contains numerous museums, libraries, government offices, markets and other commercial centers which can bring in as many as 5 million people each day to work, shop or visit cultural sites. This area has had problems with urban decay, especially in the historic center. Efforts to revitalize the historic center and some other areas have been ongoing since the 1990s, by both government and private entities. Such efforts have resulted in better public parks, such as the Alameda Central, which was renovated; the modification of streets such as 16 de Septiembre and Madero that have become exclusive for pedestrians.

The Museo Universitario del Chopo (meaning, "poplar"; locally nicknamed Crystal Palace or simply El Chopo, in Spanish) (Chopo University Museum) is located at Doctor Enrique González Martínez Street in the Colonia Santa María la Ribera of Mexico City. It has collections in contemporary art, and is part of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
