Fountain-Fort Carson High School

Fountain-Fort Carson School District 8, shortened as FFC8 or D8, is a public school district serving the southwestern area of El Paso County, Colorado, United States. Its schools are mostly based in Fountain, but it also has schools on the nearby Fort Carson military installation.

The Old Livery Stable in Fountain, Colorado is a historic stable which was built in 1893 as part of a small hotel complex. It housed horses of hotel guests. With the rise of automobiles such use ended and the stable decayed. The hotel was damaged in a fire in the 1940s, then partially repaired to serve as a rooming house, then demolished to make way for new buildings; only the stable remains. Its NRHP nomination states that the stable is:a vestige of the life and commerce of an earlier day in Fountain. Although vernacular in style, the architecture is of particular interest. The thick, heavy walls; the use of crude stones; the massiveness of the construction; and the integrated use of the dormer and cupola in a stable all reflect a time and a place where there was relatively little architectural knowledge, a time and a place where the builders drew on their rough experiences to build a utilitarian structure to serve the hotel trade. Today the Old Livery Stable stands as a landmark in downtown Fountain.

The City of Fountain is a home rule municipality located in El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 29,802 at the 2020 United States Census, a +15.31% increase since the 2010 United States Census. Fountain is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor. Fountain is located 10 miles (16 km) south of downtown Colorado Springs and just east of Fort Carson. Fountain and the Colorado Springs suburbs Security and Widefield make up the "Fountain Valley" community.

Fountain Creek Regional Park and Nature Center is a park and nature center in Fountain, El Paso County, Colorado near Colorado Springs.

Mesa Ridge High School is a school in Widefield School District 3, a school district in El Paso County, Colorado. The school is zoned to receive students from Fountain, and the Colorado Springs suburbs of Security and Widefield. Mesa Ridge opened in 1997. The first graduating class commenced in 2000. Mesa Ridge is the newest of three high schools in the district, after Widefield High School and Discovery High School.

KXCL (101.7 FM) is a radio station licensed to Rock Creek Park, Colorado, United States. The station is currently owned by Calvary Church with Ed Taylor. The station received approval from the Federal Communications Commission on November 1, 2013, to change its city of license from Westcliffe, Colorado to Rock Creek Park (southwest of Colorado Springs) and increase its power from 180 watts to 2,100 watts to serve the Colorado Springs area.Calvary Chapel Aurora agreed to purchase KXCL from United States CP, LLC for $400,000. The purchase was consummated on October 31, 2013. Calvary plans to use KXCL to bring its "Grace FM" programming from KXGR into the Colorado Springs market.

KFCS (1580 AM) is a radio station licensed to Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States.

Rock Creek is the southern boundary of Cheyenne Mountain and a tributary of Fountain Creek at Fort Carson in Colorado.

United Airlines Flight 585 was a scheduled passenger flight on March 3, 1991, from Denver to Colorado Springs, Colorado, carrying 20 passengers and 5 crew members on board. The plane experienced a rudder hardover while on final approach to runway 35 at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport, causing the plane to roll over and enter an uncontrolled dive. All 25 people on board were killed. The NTSB was initially unable to resolve the cause of the crash, but after similar accidents and incidents involving Boeing 737 aircraft, the crash was determined to be caused by a defect in the design of the 737's rudder power control unit.: ix 

The Fountain Valley School of Colorado is a private, co-educational independent college preparatory school for students in 9th through 12th grades. The school's primary campus is located on 1,100 acres (445 ha) of rolling prairie at the base of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The school also owns and uses a 40-acre Mountain Campus located near Buena Vista. FVS is a member of the Association of Boarding Schools, or TABS, and is home to the Gardner Carney Leadership Institute for teaching professionals.

Security-Widefield is a census-designated place (CDP) comprising the unincorporated communities of Security and Widefield located in and governed by El Paso County, Colorado, United States. The CDP is a part of the Colorado Springs, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Security-Widefield CDP was 32,882 at the United States Census 2010. El Paso County governs the unincorporated communities. Both the Colorado Springs post office (Zip Codes 80911, 80913, and 80925) and the Fountain post office (Zip Code 80817) serve the area.

Fort Carson is a United States Army post located directly south of Colorado Springs in El Paso, Pueblo, Fremont, and Huerfano counties, Colorado, United States. The developed portion of Fort Carson is located near the City of Colorado Springs in El Paso County.Fort Carson is the home of the 4th Infantry Division, the 10th Special Forces Group, the 4th Security Force Assistance Brigade (SFAB), the 440th Civil Affairs Battalion (USAR), the 71st Ordnance Group (EOD), the 4th Engineer Battalion, the 759th Military Police Battalion, the 10th Combat Support Hospital, the 43rd Sustainment Brigade, the Army Field Support Battalion-Fort Carson, the 423rd Transportation Company (USAR) and the 13th Air Support Operations Squadron of the United States Air Force. The post also hosts units of the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve and the Colorado Army National Guard. Fort Carson was also home to the 5th Infantry Division, known as the Red Devils.
