Pannipitiya (Sinhala: පන්නිපිටිය, Tamil: பன்னிபிட்டிய) is a suburb of Colombo. It is an area in Colombo District, Sri Lanka and is located about 15 km (9.3 mi) from the commercial capital. Pannipitiya is subdivided into a number of smaller areas.

Piliyandala (Sinhala: පිළියන්දල, Tamil: பிலியந்தலை) is a suburb in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is situated approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi) south of Colombo.

Kottawa (Sinhala: කොට්ටාව, Tamil: கொட்டாவை) is one of the main suburbs in Colombo, Sri Lanka and is administered by the Maharagama Urban Council. It is located 21 km (13 mi) from the centre of Colombo. It is a five-way junction and lies as the epicenter for Maharagama road, Homagama road, Piliyandala road, Malabe road and Borella road.

Kottawa Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya is a Buddhist school in Sri Lanka, which provides primary and secondary education. It was founded on 1 February 1970 in Kottawa.

Wickramasinghapura (Sinhala: වික්‍රමසිංහපුර, Tamil: விக்கிரமசிங்கபுர) or Wickramasinghepura is a suburb located within Battaramulla in the Western Province of Sri Lanka. It is a suburb of Colombo attached to the Kaduwela Municipal Council. Wickramasinghapura is located in between Pelawatte and Thalawathugoda. Independent Television Network (ITN) is located in Wickramasinghapura.On a clear day, Adam's Peak is visible from Wickramasinghapura which is located almost on the west coast of Sri Lanka, as it is one of the tallest hills in the Colombo District.

Arawwala or (Erewwala, Arewwala) is a town situated in the Kesbewa electorate, Colombo District, in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is located about 20 km distance via High Level (A4) & Maharagama - Piliyandala road from the commercial capital Colombo.

Vidura College, Colombo (Sinhala: විදුර විද්‍යාලය) is a private English medium school in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Its founder and current principal is D.G. Sumanasekara.

Maharagama is an outer suburb of Colombo, Sri Lanka on the High-Level (A4) Road about 10 km (6.2 mi) from the centre of the commercial capital. It developed rapidly in the 1980s as a dormitory suburb. Governed by the Maharagama Urban Council, the town possesses facilities like supermarkets, department stores, clothing, food and beverages shops to fulfill the needs of citizens. There are number of bus routes passing the area and starting from the suburb that connect Maharagama to all the suburbs. The Sri Lanka Transport Board has a depot in Maharagama.

Mattegoda is a town in Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is located a short distance south-east of Colombo. It is well known for the housing scheme situated in there. The nearest major town is Kottawa.

Thalawathugoda (Sinhala: තලවතුගොඩ, Tamil: தலவத்துகொட) is a suburb of Colombo. It is located approximately 16 km (9.9 mi) from the city centre of Colombo, adjacent to Battaramulla and Pelawatte on the Borella-Kottawa Road, bordering Sri Jayawardenapura-Kotte. The Diyawanna Oya (Parliament Lake) forms the "Sri Jayawardenapura-Kotte" boundary of Thalawathugoda. The suburb is a rapidly developing residential area with many facilities. New modern luxury housing schemes are being developed around Kalalgoda Road and Hokandara Road to cater to high end housing demand. A notable expatriate and upper middle class local population resides in Thalawathugoda.

The National Cancer Institute (also known as Apeksha Hospital) is a government hospital in Maharagama, Sri Lanka. Which is under the control of Department of Health, provides all its services free of charge. As of February 2020 Sri Lanka has more than 50,000 cancer patients, with 14,000 annual deaths due to cancer.

Rukmale is a village situated in the Maharagama Electorate, Colombo District, in the Western Province, Sri Lanka. It is administered by the Maharagama Urban Council. Surrounding towns include Kottawa, Malapalla, Horahena, Hokandara, Aturugiriya, Walgama, Pinketha, Homagama, Galawila and Makumbura. There are number of bus routes passing the area starting from Colombo, Maharagama, Kottawa, Aturuguruya, Malabe and Homagama. Colombo-Aturugiriya, route no.123 Colombo-Rukmalgama, route no. 138 Maharagama-Aturugiriya, route no.123 Kottawa-Malabe route no.376 Homagama-Maharagama route no.128.The proposed development project of Southern Expressway runs through Rukmale village. Approximate area is 1 square mile (640 acres). B. D. Rampala (Bamunusinghearachchige Don Rampala), mechanical engineer and General Manager of Sri Lanka Railways, was born in Rukmale.
