The Oconee County School District is a public school district in Oconee County, Georgia, United States, based in Watkinsville. It serves the communities of Bishop, Bogart, North High Shoals, and Watkinsville.

The Eagle Tavern is one of the earliest surviving structures in Watkinsville, Oconee County, Georgia, United States. The Eagle Tavern was built circa 1801 but possibly as early as 1794. In the early part of the 19th century, the city of Watkinsville, Georgia was on the frontier of Creek and Cherokee Indian Territories. The site of the tavern may also have been the site of Fort Edwards, a gathering place for settlers seeking protection from attack by the Creek and Cherokee. The building housed a hotel until about 1930. The tavern was added to the National Register of Historic Places on 13 May 1970.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. It included 19 contributing buildings.It includes Greek Revival, Queen Anne, and Gothic Revival architecture. It includes the Watkinsville Methodist Church and the Butler House and the Veale House.

Rhododendron Collection (1976) - rhododendrons Flower Garden - Brand new in 2008. Shade Garden - azalea, camellia, dogwood, laurel, magnolia, redbud, and viburnum. Trial Garden - shrubs and trees under evaluation for the southeastern United States.It also contains about 5 miles (8.0 km) of nature trails. In 1984, it received the designation as Georgia's "State Botanical Garden".

It is one of two high schools in the Oconee County Public Schools district. Its mascot is the Warrior, and its colors are blue and white. The school was ranked number 499 out of 500 in Newsweek's 2014 rankings of the top 500 high schools in America, and is consistently named one of the top public high schools in Georgia with regard to Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores.OCHS offers football, wrestling, soccer, swimming and diving, volleyball, baseball, tennis, track, and cross country. It also has a variety of fine arts programs, including a chorus, show choir, band, and drama program that produces musicals and one-act plays each year.

At private, public-local and public-federal levels, the town has 63 contributing buildings, one contributing site and one contributing structure.The area registered as having historical significance is roughly along Price Mill Road, Old Bishop Road and U.S. Route 441 within the Bishop town limits.

Turner Soccer Complex is a 1,700-capacity stadium located in Athens, Georgia. It is primarily used for soccer and serves as the home field for the Georgia Bulldogs women's soccer team. The complex is named for Hoyt "Jack" Turner, an Athens native who has financially supported Bulldogs soccer and other athletic endeavors for several years. The stadium opened on September 1, 1998 (1998-09-01). Turner Soccer Complex hosted the 2000 Southeastern Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament.
