The Avenues (also referred to and often known as Avenues Mall) is a two-level regional shopping mall located on the southside of Jacksonville, Florida, and opened in 1990 on the Interstate 95 corridor, and is off exit 339 at the intersection of U.S. 1 (Philips Highway) and Southside Boulevard. The mall, managed by Simon Property Group, which manages 25% of it, has a parking deck on the northwestern side. Its anchor stores are Belk, Dillard's, Forever 21, and JCPenney. Other stores located at the mall include Aldo, H&M, LOFT, BoxLunch, Build-A-Bear Workshop, MAC, LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, Pandora, and Le Macaron French Pastries.

Community Hospice & Palliative Care, also known simply as Community Hospice, is a not-for-profit hospice, which has served the Greater Jacksonville Metropolitan Area since its inception in 1979. The organization was the first hospice program in Northeast Florida and one of a few operating programs in the state when Florida began granting hospice licenses in 1981; Community Hospice received their license in 1983 and in 2008, assisted nearly 1,000 patients daily and more than 6,000 patients a year.

The Julington-Durbin Preserve is a 2,031-acre nature preserve operated by the St. Johns River Water Management District in Duval County, Florida. The preserve shares the name of the two creeks that border the preserve and connect to the St. Johns River. Julington Creek is on the north side of the preserve, and Durbin Creek is to the south. The preserve has three designated hiking trails. Recreational activities include picnicking, horseback riding, bicycling, and hiking.

Other amenities include 130 lakes, 1200 acres of nature trails, parks, playgrounds, and a top-rated golf course. Centrally located on the east side of the St. Johns River with the intracoastal waterway to the west, it houses its own boat marina and water view restaurants. Mickelers Landing Beach is east of the neighborhood.

Logos University, formerly Logos Christian College and Graduate School, is an unaccredited interdenominational private university in Jacksonville, Florida. The university offers academic degree programs designed for professional service in Christian ministry using distance learning. Although it is accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities, that organization's accreditation is not recognized by the US or UK government.

Julington Creek is a stream in Duval County, Florida, near Jacksonville. Durbin Creek is a tributary. Julington Creek feeds into the St Johns River widening out into Old Bull Bay. Both are navigable by paddlecraft and has a marina on it.Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote about her visits to the creek while she was living in Mandarin, Florida, in Palmetto Leaves (1873).

The Art Institute of Jacksonville was a for-profit institution of higher education in Jacksonville, Florida, and one of The Art Institutes, a corporate system of over 40 educational institutions throughout North America, providing education in design, media arts, fashion and culinary arts. The school opened in 2007 as a branch of the Miami International University of Art & Design.The Art Institute of Jacksonville is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school started offering culinary programs in July 2007.The Art Institutes system is a subsidiary of Education Management Corporation a for-profit college organization. Beginning in August 2011, Education Management Corporation was one of several for-profit college companies to be investigated and sued by federal and state agencies for illegal recruitment practices and fraudulent receipt of federal financial aid money.In 2015, the Art Institute of Jacksonville announced it would close along with 14 other Art Institutes branches in the aftermath of the federal investigations. The school ceased admitting new students and closed when its enrolled students had graduated.

Florida Coastal School of Law was a private for-profit law school in Jacksonville, Florida. It was established in 1996 and was the last operating of three for-profit law schools of the InfiLaw System owned by Sterling Partners. Because of funding and accreditation issues, the school closed its doors after summer classes were completed in 2021.

Fruit Cove is a census-designated place (CDP) in St. Johns County, Florida, United States. It is located in the community of St. Johns. The population was 32,143 at the 2020 census.

Bayard is a historical community of Duval County, Jacksonville, Florida, US. Originally platted in 1884, the community was a busy stopping point for tourists and industry through the early part of the 20th century. In the early 2000s, the City of Jacksonville began developing The Bayard Community Plan in an effort to preserve the character of Bayard as Jacksonville expands towards the community.

Mandarin is a neighborhood located in the southernmost portion of Jacksonville, in Duval County, Florida, United States. It is located on the eastern banks of the St. Johns River, across from Orange Park. It's a short drive south of Jacksonville's city center, and is bordered by Beauclerc to the north, Julington Creek to the south and St. John's River to the west. Once called "a tropical paradise" by author and notable resident Harriet Beecher Stowe, Mandarin is known for its history, ancient oak trees draped with Spanish moss, parks, marinas and water views.
