Færder is a municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Vestfold. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Borgheim. Other villages in the municipality include Årøysund, Bjørnevåg, Buerstad, Duken, Glomstein, Grimestad, Hårkollen, Hulebakk, Kjøpmannskjær, Nesbrygga, Ormelet, Oterbekk, Skallestad, Skjerve, Solvang, Strengsdal, Sundene, Svelvik, Tenvik, Tjøme, Torød, Vestskogen, and Vollen.The 100-square-kilometre (39 sq mi) municipality is the 329th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Færder is the 44th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 27,286. The municipality's population density is 273.6 inhabitants per square kilometre (709/sq mi) and its population has increased by 5.1% over the previous 10-year period.The Færder National Park, which was established in 2013, comprises islands and sea area east of the municipality. The main visitors' centre for the park is located at Verdens Ende at the southern tip of the island of Tjøme.

Kjøpmannskjær is a village in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located on the southern shore of the island of Nøtterøy, about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) east of the village of Tenvik, about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) north of the village of Sundene (on Tjøme island), and about 3.5 kilometres (2.2 mi) south of the village of Skjerve. The village of Strengsdal lies about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the east along the southern shore of the island. The 0.46-square-kilometre (110-acre) village has a population (2023) of 440 and a population density of 953 inhabitants per square kilometre (2,470/sq mi).

Strengsdal is a village in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located on the southern coast of the island of Nøtterøy. It lies about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) east of the village of Kjøpmannskjær and about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) west of the village of Buerstad. The village of Torød and the Torød Church lie about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the northeast. The village of Strengsdal and the surrounding countryside has a population (in 2023) of 184.

Nøtterøy is the largest island in Vestfold county, Norway. The 44-square-kilometre (17 sq mi) island is mostly located in Færder Municipality, but a small area on the far northern shore belongs to Tønsberg Municipality. The island is between the Ytre Oslofjord (to the east) and the Tønsbergfjorden (to the west). Most of the northern part of the island is considered part of the city of Tønsberg metropolitan area which spans parts of Tønsberg and Færder municipalities. In the southern part of the island, there are three larger urban villages: Glomstein on the west coast, Kjøpmannskjær on the south coast, and Årøysund on the east coast. Historically, the island was part of the old Nøtterøy Municipality which existed from 1838 until 1 January 2018 when it became part of Færder Municipality.

Tenvik is a village in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located on the coast of the island of Nøtterøy, along the Tønsbergfjorden. It is located about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) west of the village of Kjøpmannskjær, about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the northwest of the village of Sundene, and about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) south of the village of Glomstein. The island of Veierland is located in the fjord about 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) to the southwest of the village. There is a ferry from Tenvik to Veierland.The village of Tenvik and the surrounding countryside had a population in 2007 of 207 people.

Svelvik is a village in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located on the island of Tjøme, about 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) to the north of the village of Tjøme, about 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) to the south of the village of Sundene, and about 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) to the west of the village of Grimestad. The village of Svelvik and the surrounding countryside had a population (in 2007) of 630.

Buerstad is a village in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The village is located on the southern coast of the island of Nøtterøy. The village of Buerstad is located about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the east of the village of Strengsdal and about 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) to the southwest of the village of Torød where the Torød Church is located. The village of Buerstad and the surrounding countryside has a population (in 2023) of 520.

Glomstein is a village in the municipality of Nøtterøy, Norway. Its population (SSB 2005) is 382.

Nøtterøy is an island and a former municipality in the present-day municipality of Færder in Vestfold and Telemark county, Norway. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Borgheim. The parish of Nøtterø was established as a municipality on 1 January 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). Two islands were later transferred from the municipality of Stokke to Nøtterøy: Håøya (in 1901) and Veierland (in 1964). The whole municipality was made up of a small island group south of Tønsberg municipality, including the islands of Nøtterøy, Føynland, Veierland, and about 175 smaller islands. Nøtterøy includes the villages of Borgheim, Glomstein, Teie, and Torød. As 2010, 16,418 of the municipality lived within the town of Tønsberg, an urban area shared between the two municipalities.It is the largest island in Vestfold County. The highest point on Nøtterøy Island is Vetan with an elevation of 99.7 meters. The mountain has been operated by the Norwegian Armed Forces since 1897. The military currently operates a radio station at Vetan.

Skjerve is a village and statistical area (grunnkrets) in Nøtterøy municipality, Norway. The statistical area Skjerve, which also can include the peripheral parts of the village as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of 152.The village Skjerve is located between Kjøpmannskjær in the south and Borgheim in the north. It is considered a part of the urban settlement Årøysund, which covers the southern part of the island. The urban settlement Årøysund has a population of 2,069.

Tjøme is an island in Færder Municipality in Vestfold county, Norway. The 24.5-square-kilometre (9.5 sq mi) island lies immediately south of the large island of Nøtterøy, between the Ytre Oslofjord (to the east) and the Tønsbergfjorden (to the west). The smaller island of Veierland lies west of the island and Hvasser lies to the east. The island of Tjøme is connected to the islands of Nøtterøy and Hvasser by bridges and the island of Nøtterøy is connected to the mainland by the Tønsberg Canal Bridge.The island was part of Tjøme Municipality from 1838 until 2018 when it became part of the newly-created Færder Municipality. The main population centre on the island is the village of Tjøme in the central part of the island.

Mågerø is a small peninsula just south of the Norwegian city of Tønsberg. It is a part of the island Tjøme, a typically Norwegian summer vacation area. Mågerø is the location of the Royal Norwegian Air Force control and alert station for the southern part of Norway. The Norwegian royal family have their summer vacation facility situated on Mågerø, which in its entirety has restricted military area status.
