Top Valley

Warren Hill is an area within the market town of Arnold in the English ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire. Located in the civil parish of St. Albans, it is in the local government district of Gedling. The area is roughly 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Arnold town centre and about 4 miles (6 km) from Nottingham. The surrounding areas include Top Valley to the south, Rise Park to the west, Arnold and the suburb of Redhill to the east and Bestwood Country Park and Bestwood Village to the north. Most of the area consists of newly built housing estates with mainly 3-4 bedroom semi-detached houses as well as some newly built terraced housing and bungalows.

Park Vale Academy (formerly Top Valley School and Top Valley Academy) is a mixed secondary school located in the Top Valley area of Nottingham in the English county of Nottinghamshire.

Rise Park is a suburb of Nottingham four miles north of the City Centre and three miles north-east of junction 26 of the M1 motorway. It comprises approximately 1500 homes, primarily privately owned houses and bungalows, and a small number of low rise, three-storey flats. Construction of the estate began in the early 1960s, starting at the bottom of the hill to the west and gradually spreading upwards and eastwards to be completed in the early 1970s. It was built on the former site of Rise Farm (known as Bulwellrise Farm until around 1900), the southern boundary of which ran along the edge of what is now Rise Park Road, Langbank Avenue and Bracadale Road. The farmhouse had stood on what would now be the south-east corner of Haverill Crescent. On the western boundary ran a railway line, closed in the mid-1960s and now a tree-lined footpath. To the north is Bestwood Country Park and to the east is another housing estate built in the late 1970s on the site of Home Farm. Rise Park primary and nursery school was originally opened as separate infant and junior schools in 1971, built on land once belonging to Top Valley Farm, as was Top Valley Academy which opened in September 1973. Rise Park has had a small parade of shops since 1969 or 1970. An additional supermarket (originally Grandways and later Kwik-Save) opened for business in 1977 but this was later demolished and replaced with McCracken Close and new homes in the 2010s. Next to the shopping area is a church opened in 1968 and a bus terminus with frequent links to the City Centre and surrounding areas of Arnold and Bulwell. The market town of Hucknall is close by.

Bestwood Estate is a large council estate located to the north of the city of Nottingham, England. Based on the 2011 census, its population is 4,719. There is also a ward of the City of Nottingham called Bestwood, which at the time of the 2011 census had a population of 16,753.

The Oakwood Academy (formerly Big Wood School)' is a secondary school located on Bewcastle Road, Warren Hill, Nottingham, England. It is for 11- to 16-year-olds and is of mixed genders. The school specialises in business and enterprise and was one of the first BSF Schools to be built in Nottingham with 21st Century facilities. Previously a community school administered by Nottingham City Council, Big Wood School converted to academy status on 1 April 2015 and was renamed The Oakwood Academy after the oak tree sitting predominantly outside the school grounds; sitting in front of the main entrance. It is now sponsored by the Redhill Academy Trust but continues to coordinate with Nottingham City Council for admissions.

Bulwell Forest railway station was a former station in Nottingham on the Great Northern Railway Nottingham to Shirebrook line.The station should not be confused with the Bulwell Forest tram stop of the Nottingham Express Transit (NET) system, which is some 750 metres (2,460 ft) to the north-west. The tram stop is situated on the alignment of the former Midland Railway route from Nottingham to Worksop, which is now shared between the NET and the Robin Hood railway line, but there was never a railway station at its location.

Bulwell Common railway station was a station in Nottingham on the Great Central Railway main line, the last main line to be built from the north of England to London. The station opened with the line on 15 March 1899.

Bestwood Country Park is a country park near Bestwood Village, Nottinghamshire, England. Bestwood was a hunting estate owned by the Crown from the medieval period until the 17th century, when King Charles II gave it to his mistress, Nell Gwyn, and their son. In the Victorian era, Bestwood was the location of a coal mine which closed in 1967. It was established as a country park in 1973.

Bestwood Lodge is a Grade II* listed 19th-century country house in the civil parish of St Albans, Nottinghamshire, England. It was contracted in the Gothic Revival style for the 10th Duke of St Albans by the architect Samuel Sanders Teulon. It has been operated as the Bestwood Lodge Hotel since the 1970s.

St. Albans is a civil parish in the Gedling borough of Nottinghamshire, England. It was part of the wider Bestwood St. Albans parish, which ceased to exist on 31 March 2018 (2018-03-31), after which it was separated into Bestwood Village and St Albans.At the time of the 2011 census the population was 3,290. As well as the part of Bestwood Country Park surrounding Bestwood Lodge, the parish includes the residential areas of Warren Hill, Warren Wood, Deer Park and 'The Gardens' on the northern outskirts of the Greater Nottingham conurbation.

Nottingham City Hospital is a large hospital located in Nottingham, England. It occupies a large 90-acre (360,000 m2) site on the ring road to the North of the city centre. It is composed of many buildings, most of which are joined together by long corridors. Buildings include a leisure club, a Maggies Centre for people with cancer, and a patient hotel. It is managed by the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
