Bestwood Lodge

St. Albans is a civil parish in the Gedling borough of Nottinghamshire, England. It was part of the wider Bestwood St. Albans parish, which ceased to exist on 31 March 2018 (2018-03-31), after which it was separated into Bestwood Village and St Albans.At the time of the 2011 census the population was 3,290. As well as the part of Bestwood Country Park surrounding Bestwood Lodge, the parish includes the residential areas of Warren Hill, Warren Wood, Deer Park and 'The Gardens' on the northern outskirts of the Greater Nottingham conurbation.

The Oakwood Academy (formerly Big Wood School)' is a secondary school located on Bewcastle Road, Warren Hill, Nottingham, England. It is for 11- to 16-year-olds and is of mixed genders. The school specialises in business and enterprise and was one of the first BSF Schools to be built in Nottingham with 21st Century facilities. Previously a community school administered by Nottingham City Council, Big Wood School converted to academy status on 1 April 2015 and was renamed The Oakwood Academy after the oak tree sitting predominantly outside the school grounds; sitting in front of the main entrance. It is now sponsored by the Redhill Academy Trust but continues to coordinate with Nottingham City Council for admissions.

Warren Hill is an area within the market town of Arnold in the English ceremonial county of Nottinghamshire. Located in the civil parish of St. Albans, it is in the local government district of Gedling. The area is roughly 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from Arnold town centre and about 4 miles (6 km) from Nottingham. The surrounding areas include Top Valley to the south, Rise Park to the west, Arnold and the suburb of Redhill to the east and Bestwood Country Park and Bestwood Village to the north. Most of the area consists of newly built housing estates with mainly 3-4 bedroom semi-detached houses as well as some newly built terraced housing and bungalows.

Bestwood Park is a large post-war council estate located to the north of the city of Nottingham, England, and roughly bounded by Beckhampton Road, Oxclose Lane and Queens Bower Road,

Top Valley is a largely residential area in the north west of Nottingham, England. It is located to the south of Rise Park, to the north and west of Bestwood, to the southwest of Bestwood Village and to the east of Bulwell. It is approximately 4 miles from Nottingham city centre. The estate was built in the 1970s on the grounds of Top Valley farm, Forest farm and Home farm. For the most part construction progressed from west to east with the first houses appearing before the end of 1972. The Top Valley farmhouse was knocked down in 1973 and replaced with Knights Close whilst the Forest farmhouse had stood at the south-west corner of what is now Brisbane Drive. In late 1982 a Tesco supermarket was opened on the former site of the railway wagon works south of Top Valley Way, the railway line itself having closed in the mid-1960s and now a tree-lined footpath on the western boundary of the estate. The original supermarket building was demolished and replaced with a larger construction circa 2005/06. Another notable change occurred during the 2010s in the Bakewell Drive area with several dwellings demolished and replaced with modern housing. In early 2018 the former children's home at Ranskill Gardens was demolished (having closed in the late 2000s). Eight new 'ecohomes' are being built on the site by Positive Homes - all to 'A' rated Energy Performance Certificate Standards, making them among the most energy efficient homes in the UK. This is set to be followed in 2019 by a large ecohome development on the former Eastglade Primary School site by Nottingham City Homes.

Redhill () is a small community forming part of the much larger town of Arnold in Nottinghamshire, England. It is approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) north of the city of Nottingham in the borough of Gedling. The area is home to approximately 2,000 people, many of whom are commuters. The population is shown in the Gedling ward of Bonington.

The Church of St. Paul is a parish church in the Church of England, located on Mansfield Road in Daybrook, Nottingham. The parish includes St Timothy church centre. St Paul's church is a Grade II* listed building by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as it is a particularly significant building of more than local interest.

The Sir John Robinson Almshouses (commonly the Daybrook Almshouses) are a collection of twelve two-bedroom cottages erected in 1899 on Mansfield Road, Daybrook, Arnold, Nottingham.The almshouses are charitable low-rent housing provided and maintained by the Sir John Robinson Homes charity (England and Wales Registered Charity No. 217941) to enable fully retired elderly people over the age of 60 years (who are able to care for themselves) to live in Daybrook. Sir John Robinson of the Home Brewery built the almshouses and Daybrook Laundry in memory of his son John Sandford Robinson, an amateur jockey, who died in a horse-racing accident on 21 April 1898, aged 30 years. King George V visited the almshouses on 24 June 1914.There is a further group of 12 two-bedroom houses that were built earlier in 1889, in Sherwood, as Sir John Robinson alms houses in honour of his son's 21st birthday.

Daybrook is a suburb of Arnold, Nottinghamshire. The area is located just outside the city of Nottingham but inside the conurbation of Greater Nottingham. It lies next to the areas of Arnold town centre, Sherwood, Woodthorpe, Redhill and Bestwood.

Bestwood Pumping Station was a water pumping station operating in Nottinghamshire from 1874 until 1964.

Bestwood Country Park is a country park near Bestwood Village, Nottinghamshire, England. Bestwood was a hunting estate owned by the Crown from the medieval period until the 17th century, when King Charles II gave it to his mistress, Nell Gwyn, and their son. In the Victorian era, Bestwood was the location of a coal mine which closed in 1967. It was established as a country park in 1973.

Daybrook railway station was a railway station in Daybrook, Nottinghamshire. It was opened by the Great Northern Railway on its Derbyshire and Staffordshire Extension in 1875–6 and closed in 1960.
