Kornelimünster Abbey

Kornelimünster (Kölsch: Mönster) is a town in the rural Münsterländchen area of Kornelimünster/Walheim, a district of Aachen, Germany.

Kornelimünster/Walheim is the southernmost Stadtbezirk (borough) of Aachen, Germany, and borders the Eifel area of North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as Belgium. It became part of Aachen in 1972, after all of the communities surrounding the city were reorganized administratively. The countryside is called Münsterländchen.

St. Anthony's Chapel (German: Antoniuskapelle) is located in Kornelimünster/Walheim, a district of the German city of Aachen. The chapel was built in 1718 but destroyed by an earthquake before consecration. Charles Ludwig von Sickingen-Ebernburg, the abbot of the abbey at Kornelimünster later ordered to rebuild the damaged unfinished building. The work was completed in 1781 and the chapel consecrated in the same year to Anthony of Padua by the administrator of the abbey Charles Caspar von der Horst. The St. Anthony-Chapel is part of a circle of five chapels built around the abbey as the central church of Kornelimünster.

Brand is a borough of Aachen, Germany, with about 18,000 residents. The borough lies in the south-east part of Aachen and borders Kornelimünster/Walheim, Forst, Oberforstbach und Eilendorf, as well as the town of Stolberg. Brand was a self-administered community in the district of Aachen until 1972, when administrative reforms of the communities in the area caused Brand to be absorbed into Aachen. The current borough of Brand is made up of the towns Brand, Freund, Krauthausen, Niederforstbach, Brander Feld and Rollef. At 270.9 meters, the highest point of the borough is a noise barrier along the Bundesautobahn 44, which runs through Brand Forest.

Flachsbach is a rivulet in the German village of Büsbach. It is a right tributary to the river Inde. The Flachsbach flowing through the south of Büsbach has its source in the pasture between the villages Büsbach and Breinig. Pottery findings dated 900 AD proved that there had been in a settlement in the surroundings of the rivulet. It finally led to the development of Büsbach.Rivulet of flax, the translation of the German name Flachsbach can be explained by the handling of flax in the past utilising the rivulets hydropower.

Friesenrath is a small historic village in western Germany, near the spa town Aachen and the tri-border region to Belgium and the Netherlands. Friesenrath is located in the valley of the creek Inde at the edge of the low mountain range Eifel, 11 km southeast of the centre of Aachen. There are several evidences that the village was founded under the rule of the Romans more than one and a half millennium ago. Worth seeing is the chapel St. Bernhard, the castle Friesenrath, the soldiers' monument, a rebuilt drinking water supply with a stone trough and a slaughter site, a milepost and the old school at the center.

Büsbach is the largest of 17 districts and villages belonging to the German town of Stolberg (Rhineland).

Eilendorf is a borough of Aachen, Germany, that has around 15000 inhabitants. The communities of Eilendorf and Nirm (both contained within the district of Eilendorf) share a border with the other Aachen boroughs of Brand, Aachen-Mitte (Rothe Erde), and Haaren (with the town of Verlautenheide), as well as Atsch in Stolberg.

Breinigerberg is one of 17 districts and villages belonging to the town of Stolberg (Rhineland), which is one of the major towns in the borough of Aachen. According to a census dated 31 December 2005, the village had 971 inhabitants.

Eilendorf station is a station in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia on the Cologne–Aachen high-speed railway. It is located in the eastern Aachen district of Eilendorf near the districts of Brand, Rothe Erde and Verlautenheide.

The nature reserve of Schlangenberg which means snake-mountain is located in the west of Germany close to the Dutch and Belgian border. The reserve is near the village Breinigerberg, 15 kilometres from Aachen or 7 kilometres distant from the city of Stolberg (Rhineland). Schlangenberg itself is a small hill peaking 276 m above sea level. The 124 hectares (310 acres) large area is famous for its calamine flora.
