Dulwich

Dulwich Park is a 30.85-hectare (76.2-acre) public park in Dulwich in the London Borough of Southwark, south London, England. The park was created by the Metropolitan Board of Works from former farmland and meadows. While the initial design was by Charles Barry (junior), it was later refined by Lt Col JJ Sexby (who also designed Battersea and parts of Southwark Parks). It was opened in 1890 by Lord Rosebery. From 2004 to 2006, the park was restored to its original Victorian layout, following a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The park is listed Grade II on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.Dulwich Park contains a café, boating lake and numerous sporting facilities. Various types of recumbent bicycles are available for hire. Cars have not been permitted to drive inside the park since 2003, with the exception of disabled badge holders, but there is a fee-paying car park at the College Road entrance.

Dulwich Library opened on 24 November 1897. It is an example of a Passmore Edwards library and is located at No. 368 Lordship Lane in East Dulwich, southeast London, England. The Library is managed by Southwark Council. The library has been listed Grade II on the National Heritage List for England since March 2016.The library was designed by Charles Barry Jr. in his capacity as architect and surveyor to Dulwich College, who donated the site on which the library stands. It was built as a memorial to the Elizabethan actor Edward Alleyn, the founder of Dulwich College and Alleyn's School. The foundation stone of the library was laid by the prominent actor Henry Irving on 24 September 1896, and the library was subsequently opened by the Lord Chancellor, Lord Halsbury, on 24 November 1897.

St Thomas More Catholic Church is a Roman Catholic church in Lordship Lane, East Dulwich, London. It was designed by Joseph Goldie in 1929 and restored in 1953 after war damage. A lady chapel was built in 1970. The stained glass is by Patrick Pye. The statue of the Madonna and Child in the Lady Chapel is by Freda Skinner. The reredos and altar of the church are from the former chapel of the Jesuit college in Hales Place, near Canterbury, Kent.

Tappen House (formerly known as Glenlea) on Dulwich Common Road, in Dulwich in Southwark, south east London, is a detached house that was designed by George Tappen,the surveyor of Dulwich College. It has been Grade II listed on the National Heritage List for England since September 1972.Bridget Cherry, writing in the 1991 London: South edition of the Pevsner Architectural Guides, described Glenlea as a "pretty stuccoed villa".

Lordship Lane is an ancient thoroughfare, once rural, in East Dulwich, a suburb of the London Borough of Southwark in southeast London, England, and forms part of the A2216. It runs north–south from Goose Green to Wood Vale. The Lordship Lane & North Cross Road area now has a wide selection of bars, restaurants and specialist retailers for the 'foodie' market.

Dulwich and West Norwood is a constituency in South London created in 1997. It has been represented by Helen Hayes of Labour since her election in 2015. In the 2016 EU referendum, Dulwich and West Norwood voted to remain in the European Union by an estimated 78%. This was the third highest result in the UK, behind Gibraltar and the neighbouring constituency of Vauxhall.

Bell House is a large Georgian house on College Road in Dulwich, South East London. It is Grade II* listed on the National Heritage List for England. It was built in 1767 for Thomas Wright, who was Sheriff of the City of London in 1779 and Lord Mayor of London in 1785. Thomas Wright made his fortune as a stationer and from publishing almanacs.The house gets its name from the striking bell tower. Whenever a fire broke out in the village, the bells of Bell House and the Dulwich College chapel were rung in order to gather help in pumping up water for the village fire engine. Thomas Wright lived at Bell House until his death on 7 April 1798. In 1833, the house was extended to provide servants' quarters. Further extensions were made in the 1870s and Sir Edwin Lutyens was engaged to carry out certain alterations in 1918. Dulwich College took over the lease of Bell House in 1926 and it became the official residence of the Master of the College in 1927. During the Second World War the Master moved out of Bell House to a smaller house and in 1947 the building became a junior boarding house. In 1993 it was returned to private ownership, as the college recognised the reduced need for a second junior boarding house. The house was bought in the summer of 2016 by an educational charity - Bell House Dulwich.

Howlettes Mead is a Grade II listed detached house at 48 College Road in Dulwich Village, in the London Borough of Southwark, SE21. The house is set in 2 acres of grounds. It was built in 1777 and altered in the early 19th-century. The house has 3 storeys with 2 main bays and a porch with Doric pilasters

Christ's Chapel of God's Gift is a church in Dulwich, a district of London, within the College of God's Gift complex.It was consecrated in 1616 by George Abbot, Archbishop of Canterbury, as the centre of Edward Alleyn's College of God's Gift which was to be established in 1619. It is one of two churches in the parish of Dulwich in the Archdeaconry of Southwark, more formally known as the Parish of St Barnabas with Christ's Chapel, together with St Barnabas' Church, Dulwich.The organ, built in 1759, is the oldest surviving organ built by George England.

The Crown and Greyhound is a Grade II listed public house at 73 Dulwich Village, Dulwich, London. It is classified by CAMRA as a pub with a regionally important historic interior. The pub is affectionately referred to by locals as "The Dog", and sometimes as "The Dog and Hat". The pub is particularly noteworthy for its post-war connection to the British poetry movement. It is described by Nikolaus Pevsner as, "a cheerfully cross gabled pub".
