Ryehill, East Riding of Yorkshire

Camerton is a hamlet in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, in an area known as Holderness. It is situated approximately 7 miles (11 km) east of Hull city centre and lies just north of the A1033 road. It forms part of the civil parish of Thorngumbald.

Rye Hill and Burstwick railway station is a disused railway station on the North Eastern Railway's Hull and Holderness Railway midway between Burstwick and Ryehill in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It was opened by the Hull and Holderness Railway on 27 June 1854. On 1 July 1881 it was renamed to Rye Hill and on 23 September 1929 changed name again this time to Rye Hill and Burstwick. The station was closed to passengers on 19 October 1964. It is now a private residence.

The A1033 road is a main arterial route across Kingston upon Hull and the East Riding of Yorkshire connecting Hull with Withernsea. The road carries traffic to and from the Port of Hull and Salt End at its western end, and local and holiday traffic at its eastern end. It is a primary route from the junction of the A63 road to the Salt End roundabout and is maintained on that section by National Highways. The section by the docks is also part of a designated abnormal load route. The section northwards from the A63 junction to Dunswell, is known to have traffic problems.

The civil parish is formed by the village and the hamlets of Camerton and Ryehill. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 3,392, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 3,106.

Hedon is a town and civil parish in Holderness in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It is situated approximately 5 miles (8 km) east of Hull city centre. It lies to the north of the A1033 road at the crossroads of the B1240 and B1362 roads. It is particularly noted for the parish church of St. Augustine, known as the 'King of Holderness', which is a Grade I listed building. In 1991, the town had a population of 6,066, which had risen to 6,332 by the time of the 2001 UK census. By the 2011 UK census, Hedon parish had a population of 7,100,

Hedon railway station is a disused railway station on the North Eastern Railway's Hull and Holderness Railway on the northern edge of Hedon in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. It was opened by the Hull and Holderness Railway on 27 June 1854. The station was closed to passengers on 19 October 1964 and to freight on 3 June 1968.Initially, trains ran west to Hull's Victoria Dock station, but after the North Eastern Railway took over the line from January 1964, services terminated at Hull Paragon, which put the distance between the two stations at 8 miles (13 km).The goods shed was a west facing structure that was to the north of the station. It was built outside of the Borough of Hedon due to a clause in the town's charter of 1170 which allowed the inhabitants to charge for goods unloaded in the boundaries of the town. Although this was written for shipping entering the town via Hedon Haven, the Hull and Holderness railway were unwilling to pay the dues, so they located the goods shed in the parish of Preston.

Preston is a village and civil parish in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, in an area known as Holderness. It is situated approximately 6 miles (10 km) east of Hull city centre it lies just north of the A1033 road on the crossroads between the B1240 and B1362 roads. The civil parish is formed by the village of Preston and the hamlet of Salt End. According to the 2011 UK census, Preston parish had a population of 3,258, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 3,100. The parish church of All Saints is a Grade I listed building.There is both a primary school (Preston Primary School) and a secondary school, which achieved Technology College status in 1997, and has a sixth form facility joined onto the school, in Preston. South Holderness Technology College converted to an academy known as Holderness Academy and serves the surrounding villages of Paull, Hedon, Bilton, Skirlaugh, Keyingham, Thorngumbald, Aldbrough, West Newton, Burton Constable, Sproatley and others. Preston has two pubs, a pizza takeaway, a Chinese takeaway and a garden centre, with a farm shop. There is also a butcher's shop on the main street, along with the Post Office, the Post Office has closed but the shop remains. It also has a hairdressers and a traditional barbers shop. Recently 'Preston (South)' was marked clearly by the Council, however the two are not geographically all that close, and still stand as two separate areas separated in places by Hedon. In February 2023, a £9.6 million crematorium opened off Sproatley Road.

Burton Pidsea is a village and civil parish in the Holderness area of the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. The village is situated approximately 11 miles (18 km) east of Hull city centre. According to the 2011 UK census, Burton Pidsea parish had a population of 944, an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 888.There is a church, village hall, a minimarket shop which incorporates on its forecourt a petrol station, two public houses, a primary school and a playing field. Other local amenities include a bowls club. The church dedicated to Saint Peter and Saint Paul was designated a Grade I listed building in 1966 and is now recorded in the National Heritage List for England, maintained by Historic England.

St Peter and St Paul's Church is the parish church of Burton Pidsea, a village in the East Riding of Yorkshire, in England. A church in the village was first recorded around 1160. Parts of the nave and tower may date from this period, while the chancel was added in the early 13th century. The nave was rebuilt and a south aisle and chapel added in the 14th century, while the tower was rebuilt in the 15th century. The porch was rebuilt around 1800, then the church was restored by R. S. Smith between 1866 and 1868, the work including the rebuilding of the chancel. The building was grade I listed in 1966. The church is built of cobble with stone dressings, a brick porch and a slate roof. It consists of a nave with a clerestory, north and south aisles, a south porch, a chancel with a south chapel and a north vestry, and a west tower embraced by the aisles. The tower has three stages, a moulded plinth, diagonal buttresses, chamfered string courses, a pointed three-light west window, pointed two-light bell openings, and an embattled parapet. Along the aisles are pinnacled buttresses. Inside, there is an octagonal 13th-century font.
