Bishop Seabury Anglican Church is a historic Anglican church located in Gales Ferry, Ledyard, Connecticut. Founded in Groton in 1875 as part of the Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut and named in honor of Samuel Seabury, the congregation left the Episcopal Church during the Anglican realignment and is now a member of the Anglican Diocese of the Living Word in the Anglican Church in North America. In leaving the Episcopal Church, Bishop Seabury lost in litigation seeking to retain its building, and since 2018 the church has been located in the former Gales Ferry Methodist Church, built in 1857, a contributing property to Gales Ferry Historic District #2.

Gales Ferry is a village in the town of Ledyard, Connecticut, United States. It is located along the eastern bank of the Thames River. The village developed as a result of having a ferry to Uncasville located at this site, and from which the village was named. Gales Ferry was listed as a census-designated place for the 2010 Census, with a population of 1,162.Much of the core of the original settlement at the site of the former ferry has been included in two separate historic districts, each with several farmstead buildings from the late colonial and early national periods (late 18th and early 19th century). The two historic districts are irregularly shaped, and are separated by a railroad cut and some non-contributing buildings. Several farmsteads that are individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places are located close to Gales Ferry. These are the Nathan Lester House on Vinegar Hill Road, the Perkins-Bill House at 1040 Long Cove Road, and the Capt. Mark Stoddard Farmstead at 24 Vinegar Hill Road.

Uncasville is an area in the town of Montville, Connecticut, United States. It is a village in southeastern Montville, at the mouth of the Oxoboxo River where it flows into the Thames River. The name is now applied more generally to all of the east end of Montville, which is the area served by the Uncasville ZIP Code. In 1994, the federal government officially recognized the Mohegan Indian Tribe of Connecticut, which had historically occupied this area as part of its traditional territory. That year Congress passed the Mohegan Nation (Connecticut) Land Claim Settlement Act. It authorized the United States to take land into trust in northeastern Montville for the Mohegan tribe's use as a reservation. Since gaining a reservation, in 1996 the tribe developed the Mohegan Sun casino resort. It has also built the Mohegan Sun Arena on their land. The Mohegan are one of the Native American peoples who speak Algonquian languages.

The Capt. Mark Stoddard Farmstead is a historic house at 24 Vinegar Hill Road in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard, Connecticut. Built about 1770, it is a well-preserved example of a rural Cape style farmhouse, whose preservation includes its remote rural setting. The property was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.

The Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center is a Level 3 & 4 high-security prison with two facilities for male offenders, in the Uncasville section of Montville, Connecticut. The prison was opened on December 30, 1994. It is a part of the Connecticut Department of Correction. The Corrigan Correctional Institution and the Radgowski Correctional Institution were merged in 2001 as the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center. This facility, named after two DOC employees, Raymond L. Corrigan and Stanley J. Radgowski Jr., incarcerates both, pretrial and sentenced criminals. The superior courts of Danielson, New London, Norwich, and Windham use this facility.The primary Inmates Population consists of (as of January 1, 2014): Accused: 365 Sentenced: 1,221 Total: 1,586 The Radgowski Annex Building, which first opened in 1957, has a capacity of 257 prisoners. It temporarily closed in 1991 but reopened in 1997. In 2017 Governor of Connecticut Dan Malloy announced that the annex will close due to a lack of prisoners resulting from a lowered crime rate. Gov Ned Lamont announced sept 8th 2021, that the prison will close by the end of 2021 due to declining inmate population.

The Uncasville School is a historic school building at 310 Norwich-New London Turnpike in the Uncasville section of Montville, Connecticut. Designed by architect Wilson Potter, it was built during 1917-1918 by local contractor H. R. Douglas. In 1925 it was expanded by a major addition. A fine local example of Renaissance Revival architecture, its construction was funded by Grace Palmer Melcer, the daughter of a local industrialist. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001. The building now houses town offices.

The Perkins-Bill House is a historic house at 1040 Long Cove Road in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard, Connecticut. Built circa 1775 by Solomon Perkins, Sr., it is locally significant as a well-preserved gambrel-roofed Cape of the period, and for the role played by Perkins, his son Solomon, Jr., and Benjamin Bill, Jr., the house's next owner, in the American Revolutionary War. All three were defenders of the fort in Groton that was attacked by British forces under the overall command of Benedict Arnold in the 1781 Battle of Groton Heights. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Stoddard Hill State Park is a public recreation area located on the eastern shore of the Thames River, about five miles (8.0 km) south of Norwich, in the town of Ledyard, Connecticut. The state park covers 55 acres and offers facilities for boating, fishing, and hiking. It is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

The Nathan Lester House is a historic house museum at 153 Vinegar Hill Road in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard, Connecticut. Built in 1793, it is a well-preserved example of an unpretentious late 18th-century farmhouse, and one of the few houses of that age left in the town. It is located on over 136 acres (55 ha) of land, now owned by the town, which serves as a park and conservation land with trails. Is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

Saint Bernard School is a private, Roman Catholic high school in Uncasville, Connecticut. It is located in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Norwich and is co-sponsored by the Xaverian Brothers.

Oxoboxo River is a census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Montville in New London County, Connecticut, United States. The population was 2,938 at the 2000 census and 3,165 at the 2010 census. The statistical area encompasses the town center of Montville, as well as the adjacent villages of Palmertown and Uncasville. The name of the statistical area is from the river of the same name running through the CDP. The U.S. Postal Service includes the entire area of the CDP in ZIP code 06382, for which the USPS uses "Uncasville" as the place name. The Uncasville ZIP code also encompasses the Mohegan reservation, including the Mohegan Sun casino complex, and other parts of Montville.
