Takanawa Shrine

Sengaku-ji (泉岳寺) is a Buddhist temple belonging to the Sōtō school of Japanese Zen located in the Takanawa neighborhood of Minato-ku, near Sengakuji Station and Shinagawa Station, Tokyo, Japan. It was one of the three major Sōtō temples in Edo during the Tokugawa shogunate, and became famous through its connection with the Akō incident of the forty-seven Rōnin in the 18th century.

Tōzen-ji (東禅寺), is a Buddhist temple located in Takanawa, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The temple belongs to the Myōshin-ji branch of the Rinzai school of Japanese Zen. One of the four great Zen temples of Edo, it is best known in history as the location of the first British legation in Japan during the Bakumatsu period and the site of a number of incidents against foreigners by pro-sonnō jōi samurai. The temple's precincts were designated a National Historic Site in 2010.

Takanawa Gateway Station (高輪ゲートウェイ駅, Takanawa Gētowei eki) is a railway station in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The station is operated by the East Japan Railway Company (JR East). The station is also accessible by the Toei Asakusa Line and the Keikyu Line via the nearby Sengakuji Station.

Kōyasan Tokyo Betsuin (高野山東京別院, Kōyasan Tōkyō Betsuin, "Kōyasan Tokyo Branch Temple") is a temple located in Minato Ward at Takanawa 3-15-18 (facing Nihonenoki dori ) in Tokyo. It belongs to the Kōyasan Shingon school of Japanese Buddhism, and the principal image is Kūkai. The head temple of this betsuin is Kongōbu-ji in Wakayama Prefecture. It stands next to the Takanawa Police Station.

Sengakuji Station (泉岳寺駅, Sengakuji-eki) is a railway station in Minato, Tokyo, Japan. It is entirely owned and operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation, but also serves as the northern terminus of the Keikyu Main Line operated by the private railway operator Keikyu. The station is a major transfer point for passengers on the Toei Asakusa Line because most trains on the Asakusa Line switch to the Keikyu Line past Sengakuji: passengers must usually change trains at Sengakuji to reach Gotanda, Nishi-magome and other stations on the south end of the Asakusa Line. The station is designed with platforms shared between Keikyu and Asakusa Line trains to expedite this connection. The station is named after Sengaku-ji, a nearby temple famous for housing the graves of the Forty-seven rōnin.

The Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa (グランドプリンスホテル高輪) is a complex of three hotels (Grand Prince Hotel Takanawa, Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa, and The Prince Sakura Tower) designed by architect Togo Murano in 1982, and situated in the Takanawa district of Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The hotel was originally established as the Takanawa Prince Hotel in 1953. The three hotels, effectively managed as one, are situated in a 10-acre (40,000 m2) garden which formerly belonged to Takeda Palace of Prince Tsuneyoshi Takeda, a member of the Japanese Imperial Family. The hotels are the flagship properties of the Prince Hotels group which has a recently checkered history due to events at its corporate parent, Seibu Corporation, an affiliate of Seibu Railway and its former chairman Yoshiaki Tsutsumi.

Maruyama Shrine (丸山神社) is a Shinto shrine in Takanawa, Minato, Tokyo, Japan. The shrine was established in 1594 at the order of Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Yūreizaka (幽霊坂) is a hill road located in Mita 4-chome in Minato, Tokyo. The slope climbs the promontory from east to west, and climbs along busy Sakurada Avenue and terminates at the intersection with Hijiri zaka. There are two possible sources for the name of the avenue: "Yūrei" meaning ghost, due to the presence of numerous temples along the street, giving it a desolate atmosphere such that ghosts might appear and "Yūrei," an alternate reading for the given name of the first Minister of Education in Japan, and scholar Mori Arinori, who lived in the vicinity.

The Takanawa Imperial Residence (高輪皇族邸, Takanawa Kōzokutei) is an Imperial residence in Tokyo. From 1931 to 2004, it was the residence of Nobuhito, Prince Takamatsu and his spouse, Kikuko, Princess Takamatsu. On March 31, 2020, the Emperor emeritus Akihito and the Empress emerita Michiko moved in. The official name of the residence was then changed to Sento Karigosho (仙洞仮御所, litt. "Temporary Emeritus Imperial Palace").

Tenjinzaka (天神坂) is a hill road that runs along the promontory through many districts of Takanawa. It crosses Sakurada Dori. It is said that this name given to the slope because of a small shrine dedicated to Sugawara no Michizane, a scholar who is venerated as the patron deity of scholarship, Tenjin. A Calyx field could be seen from this slope in the Edo period, therefore sometimes it is referred to as Yoshimizaka which also had a secondary meaning of "Good Luck" slope.
