The Baker–Barry Tunnel connects the former military bases Fort Barry and Fort Baker in the Marin Headlands of Marin County, California. The bases are now part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The tunnel is also known as the Bunker Road Tunnel for the road that runs through it, or as the Five-Minute Tunnel because it is only wide enough to accommodate a single reversible lane, opened to traffic at either end for five minute intervals.

Cavallo Point is a conference center or hotel in Marin County, California. It is located within Fort Baker in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. It is also known as the Lodge at the Golden Gate,It includes building(s) built in 1901, in Colonial Revival style.It is part of a National Register of Historic Places-listed historic district, Forts Baker, Barry, and Cronkhite. Architectural Resources Group, an architectural firm which had architectural conservators as staff members, did some work there. It is listed on the National Registry of the Historic Hotels of America.

The Sausalito Woman's Club, at 120 Central Avenue in Sausalito, Marin County, California, was built in 1918. It was designed by Bay Area architect Julia Morgan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.It is a Craftsman-style building, of irregular plan with 18 corners.Funds for the women's club to have a clubhouse were raised during 1913 to 1918.The building was declared Sausalito's Historical Landmark #1 in 1976. Many works big and small of the Woman's club are still visible today in Sausalito, such as the plaque on a tree from 1959 as seen in March 2023 (see picture).

Fort Baker is one of the components of California's Golden Gate National Recreation Area. The Fort, which borders the City of Sausalito in Marin County and is connected to San Francisco by the Golden Gate Bridge, served as an Army post until the mid-1990s, when the headquarters of the 91st Division moved to Parks Reserve Forces Training Area. It is located opposite Fort Point at the entrance to the San Francisco Bay. Fort Baker was previously named the Lime Point Military Reservation. It was renamed in 1897.Fort Baker is named for Edward Dickinson Baker, a former U.S. Senator from Oregon. Active in California politics in the 1850s, Baker lost his life while leading a regiment of Union troops in the Civil War. He and his wife are buried in the San Francisco National Cemetery at the Presidio.Fort Baker was included in a historic district listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, as part of Forts Baker, Barry, and Cronkhite.Fort Baker features essentially intact historic structures and landscapes, and is currently under the jurisdiction of the National Park Service (NPS). It is known for its views of the San Francisco Bay.

The Bay Area Discovery Museum is a children's museum located in Sausalito, California inside the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, which is right at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was founded in 1987.The museum is geared to children from 6 months to 10 years of age with different areas of the museum tailored to a specific age group. Children have the options of exploring the 6 different sections of the museum: Art Studios, Bay Hall, Discovery Hall, Lookout Cove, Tot Spot, and Fab Lab.In the fall of 2021, the museum completed a $20M USD renovation that included five new exhibits including an interconnected set of tree houses shaped like the nuts of the trees they inhabit.

U.S. Coast Guard Station Golden Gate is a U.S. Coast Guard station in Sausalito, California. It falls under Coast Guard Sector San Francisco in the U.S.C.G.'s District Eleven.Station Golden Gate is a designated Coast Guard surf station, where surf conditions greater than 8 feet (2.4 m) occur 36 days or more per year; as a surf station, it operates three 47-foot Motor Lifeboats and two 29-foot Response Boats - Small (RB-S).

The Trident is a restaurant in Sausalito, California, originally opened in 1966 as a bar-restaurant-music venue by the Kingston Trio, and noted for its psychedelic murals dating to the 1960s, and its ties to the music counterculture of that era. The modern version of the Tequila Sunrise cocktail was invented by Trident bartenders Bobby Lozoff and Billy Rice in the early 1970s. In 1972, at a private party at the Trident organized by Bill Graham to kick off the Rolling Stones' 1972 tour in America, Mick Jagger had one of the cocktails, liked it, and he and his entourage started drinking them. They later ordered them all across America, even dubbing the tour itself their "cocaine and tequila sunrise tour".During the summers of 1974, 1975 and 1976, Robin Williams worked as a dishwasher and busboy at The Trident.The Trident closed in 1980. Shortly thereafter, Horizons opened and became a popular tourist destination until 2012, when it resumed its Trident title. The current owners also operate the Buena Vista Cafe in San Francisco. The restaurant is located in the former 1898 home of the San Francisco Yacht Club.

The radio studios and offices are in the SoMa district of San Francisco. KISQ has an effective radiated power (ERP) of 75,000 watts. The transmitter is on Wolfback Ridge Road in Sausalito, California, within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. KISQ broadcasts using HD Radio technology. The station also has booster stations on 98.1 MHz in Concord and Pleasanton.

Sausalito (Spanish for "small willow grove") is a city in Marin County, California, United States, located 1.5 miles (2.4 kilometers) southeast of Marin City, 8 miles (13 km) south-southeast of San Rafael, and about 4 miles (6 km) north of San Francisco from the Golden Gate Bridge.Sausalito's population was 7,269 as of the 2020 census. The community is situated near the northern end of the Golden Gate Bridge, and prior to the building of that bridge served as a terminus for rail, car, and ferry traffic. Sausalito developed rapidly as a shipbuilding center in World War II, with its industrial character giving way in postwar years to a reputation as a wealthy and artistic enclave, a picturesque residential community (incorporating large numbers of houseboats), and a tourist destination. The city is adjacent to, and largely bounded by, the protected spaces of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area as well as the San Francisco Bay.

Madden, Lewis or Madden and Lewis Company or Madden and Lewis Corp. was a wooden shipbuilding company in Sausalito, California. To support the World War 2 demand for ships Madden, Lewis shipyard switched over to military construction and built: US Navy tugboats and Harbour Defence Motor Launch. The company was founded by James Herbert Madden Sr., who was also active in the Sausalito Yacht Club. James Herbert Madden Sr. and Gertrude Murphy Madden raised five children in Sausalito. Madden and Lewis Company also owned the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate Ferry Company that ran before the completion of the Golden Gate Bridge, the ferry was run by the Northwestern Pacific Railroad now the site of the Sausalito Ferry Terminal. After the war the yard returned to pleasure craft building and repair. On March 19, 1960 a large fire broke out at the boatyard. The boatyard was in Richardson Bay at 200 Johnson street, Sausalito, near the current Sausalito Yacht Harbor.
