Gompers School, also known as Eastern High School and Samuel Gompers General Vocational School, is a historic high school located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It was designed and built during a period from 1904 to 1906 as a public high school and remained as an educational facility until its closing in 1981. It is a flat-roofed building on four floor levels, roughly square in plan. The interior layout is characterized by a series of classrooms ringing an open court to allow maximum ventilation and light.Gompers School was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

In the past, Oliver has experienced economic depression, housing abandonment, and the after-effects of the Baltimore riot of 1968. In recent years, a steadily increasing number of diverse families and young professionals have returned to the Oliver community. In hand with long term homeowners, new homeowners are experiencing a transforming community. The neighborhood was a filming location for the Baltimore-based HBO drama The Wire, and was the home of the Baltimore chapter of the Black Panther Party. Friends Burial Ground is a historic Quaker cemetery in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is the earliest cemetery in Baltimore, established in 1713, and 2.8 acres (11,000 m2) in size. It contains a total of approximately 1,900 small, simple grave markers, arranged in compact rows interspersed with large trees. The graveyard is surrounded by a fieldstone wall 8 feet (2.4 m) high, built in the 1860s, now covered with moss, roses, and ivy.Friends Burial Ground was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Public School No. 4 , also known as Columbus School, is a historic elementary school located at Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is a two-story Romanesque Revival styled structure constructed in 1891 and expanded in 1905 and 1912. It features a three-story central square tower with pyramidal roof and a flanking pair of cylindrical corner towers with conical roofs. The structure was used as the South Clifton Park Community Center.Public School No.4 was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.The building has been converted to apartments.

The REACH! Partnership School is a public charter high school located in the northeast area known as Clifton Park of Baltimore, Maryland. REACH! is operated by Civic Works, a Baltimore nonprofit affiliated with the AmeriCorps program.The school shared the campus of the former Lake Clifton Eastern High School campus with Heritage High School from 2010 until the closure of the latter after the 2014–2015 school year.For the 2019–2020 school year, as part of Baltimore City's 21st Century Schools initiative, REACH! was scheduled to relocate to the nearby Fairmount-Harford building, at 2555 Harford Road, previously occupied by the defunct Harbor City High School. The school's new location was originally built to serve as Clifton Park Junior High in 1924. The school offers vocational education through its CTE Pathways in either "Construction & Development" (carpentry or HVAC) or "Health & Biosciences" (Nursing assistant or Pharmacy technician). It also offers two Advanced Placement courses in English and History & social sciences. In addition, the school hosts an Army JROTC program.

The neighborhood was effected by the Baltimore riot of 1968. Its residents are largely poor and working-class African Americans.

The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Baltimore Building is a historic industrial building at 2525 Kirk Avenue in Baltimore, Maryland. The Moderne style building was built in 1939. The building includes hallmarks of the style, including rounded corners, horizontal bands of stonework, and stylized relief panels with renditions of the Coca-Cola Company logo.The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Baltimore East/South Clifton Park Historic District is a national historic district in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is primarily an urban residential area organized in a gridiron pattern. It comprises approximately 110 whole and partial blocks that formed the historic northeast corner of the City of Baltimore prior to 1888. While rowhouses dominate the urban area, the historic district also contains other property types which contribute to its character including brewing, meat packing, cigar manufacturing, printing, and a tobacco warehouse. The Baltimore Cemetery completes the historic district.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.

A filming location for The Wire (TV series), a Baltimore-based HBO drama. The Broadway East community is undergoing a resurgence which includes the Mary Harvin Transformation Center and Senior Housing, the renovation of the American Brewery (building), the Baltimore Food Hub, and the Southern Streams Health and Wellness Center and Southern Views Multi-family Housing which is currently under construction and the development of affordable housing and mixed use property development cited in the East Baltimore Revitalization Plan adopted by the Baltimore City Planning Department in September 2018.
