Turners, Missouri

Oak Grove Heights is an unincorporated community in eastern Greene County, Missouri, United States. It is located on Route 125, approximately five miles northwest of Rogersville and one mile south of the James River.The community grew around the location of the Oak Grove School which was two miles west of the James River community of Turners and just northeast of Turner Creek and the old St. Louis–San Francisco Railway (currently the BNSF Railway) which followed the stream course.

Logan is a school and small unincorporated community in southeastern Greene County, Missouri, United States. directly adjacent to Rogersville. It is located approximately 5 mi (8.0 km) west-northwest of Rogersville, one mile north of U.S. Route 60 and one mile west of Route 125. The community is centered on the school and includes several homes and the Logan Cemetery.The school and community was named for a local family.

Pierson Creek or Pearson Creek is a stream in southeastern Greene County in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. The stream is a tributary of the James River. The source area for the stream is about two miles west of Strafford and the stream flows south passing under I-44 then turns to the southwest. The stream enters the eastern portion of Springfield and turns south again as it crosses under Cherry Street. It flows under Missouri Route D and joins the James River about three miles northeast of the U.S. Route 60/U.S. Route 65 interchange of south Springfield.The stream headwaters are at 37°16′29″N 93°09′25″W and the confluence with the James River is at 37°09′50″N 93°11′48″W. The confluence is at an elevation of 1,155 feet (352 m) and the elevation of the source is approximately 1,438 feet (438 m).The stream is the location of the type section for the Pierson Limestone as exposed near the Route D crossing.The stream was named for a mill on the stream which was built by Jerry Pearson in 1828–31. Pearson had acquired rights to the property from the Delaware Indians.

Mumford is an unincorporated community in Greene County in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is at the junction of Jones Branch and Pierson Creek, about 1.3 miles east of the current U.S. 65 bypass of east Springfield. The old St. Louis–San Francisco Railway (currently the BNSF Railway) passes just southwest of it. The old Mt. Pisgah School was located just to the north.

Logan-Rogersville High School (LRHS) is a public high school for grades 9–12 located in Rogersville, Missouri as part of the Logan-Rogersville R-VIII School District. The National Center for Education Statistics classifies LRHS as a "rural fringe" locale, which is defined as a rural area that is less than or equal to 5 miles from an urban area. The mascot of LRHS is the wildcat with the colors of maroon and white.LRHS was the site for the Guinness World Records largest game of duck, duck, goose with 2,135 participants on October 7, 2011. On May 20, 2020, three high schools in Terre Haute, Indiana (Terre Haute North Vigo High School, Terre Haute South Vigo High School, and West Vigo High School) attempted to break the 2011 record held by Logan-Rogersville School District. However, the attempt was unsuccessful, and Guinness World Records still lists the Logan-Rogersville School District as the holder of the record.

Palmetto is an unincorporated community in southeastern Greene County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community lies at an elevation of 1437 feet and is located near the headwaters of Turner Creek on the BNSF Railway, approximately two miles northwest of Rogersville. Henderson in western Webster County lies approximately 1.5 miles to the east along Missouri Route D.

Cody was an unincorporated community in southeastern Greene County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. It is currently within the city limits of Rogersville.Cody was located between Springfield and Rogersville at the intersection of U.S. Route 60 and Missouri Route 125.

Nogo (also Mulroy) is a former town in Greene County, Missouri, United States, on old U.S. Route 66. The site is now completely inside the city of Strafford. The name derived from the inability to name the town and someone made the comment that it was "a no-go." The name "Nogo" then became the name of the town.

The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is located in Springfield, Missouri, United States. Founded in 1994 by Springfield businessman John Q. Hammons, the Hall of Fame is housed in a two-story, 32,000-square-foot building. On display are more than 4,000 items of sports memorabilia and exhibits related to Missouri amateur and professional athletics. Various interactive attractions allow visitors to simulate driving a NASCAR race car, stepping into the batters box against a Major League Baseball pitcher, and throwing football passes. Next to the Hall is the Legends Walk of Fame, a plaza-like outdoor setting featuring busts and statuary of notable Missouri sports figures given the yearly Legends Award.
