Pierson Creek or Pearson Creek is a stream in southeastern Greene County in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri. The stream is a tributary of the James River. The source area for the stream is about two miles west of Strafford and the stream flows south passing under I-44 then turns to the southwest. The stream enters the eastern portion of Springfield and turns south again as it crosses under Cherry Street. It flows under Missouri Route D and joins the James River about three miles northeast of the U.S. Route 60/U.S. Route 65 interchange of south Springfield.The stream headwaters are at 37°16′29″N 93°09′25″W and the confluence with the James River is at 37°09′50″N 93°11′48″W. The confluence is at an elevation of 1,155 feet (352 m) and the elevation of the source is approximately 1,438 feet (438 m).The stream is the location of the type section for the Pierson Limestone as exposed near the Route D crossing.The stream was named for a mill on the stream which was built by Jerry Pearson in 1828–31. Pearson had acquired rights to the property from the Delaware Indians.

Turners or Turner is a small unincorporated community in Greene County, Missouri, United States. It lies on the southeast side of the James River floodplain approximately 3.5 miles east of U.S. Route 65 in east Springfield. The community lies at the intersection of Routes D and J near the confluence of Turner Creek with the James River. The old St. Louis–San Francisco Railway (currently the BNSF Railway) passed through the community.A post office called Turners has been in operation since 1889. The community carries the surname of an original owner of the site.

The Springfield Three refers to an unsolved missing persons case that began on June 7, 1992, when friends Suzanne "Suzie" Streeter and Stacy McCall, and Streeter's mother, Sherrill Levitt, went missing from Levitt's home in Springfield, Missouri, United States. All of their personal belongings, including cars and purses, were left behind. There were no signs of a struggle except a broken porch light globe; there was also a message on the answering machine that police believe might have provided a clue about the disappearances, but it was inadvertently erased. In 1997, Robert Craig Cox, a convicted kidnapper and robber, claimed that he knew the women had been murdered and that their bodies would never be recovered. Neither their whereabouts nor their remains have ever been discovered. No investigators in the case believe Cox has any credibility.

Rail Haven Motel, also known as Rail Haven Motor Court, is a historic traveler's accommodation located at Springfield, Greene County, Missouri. It was built in 1938 and enlarged in 1957. It is an L-shaped motel complex that includes two Nine Unit Motel Buildings, Laundry, a 16 Unit Motel Building (1950), Original Laundry (1950), Office (1953), three Multiple Unit Motel Buildings (1938, c. 1957), the Thirty Unit Motel Building (1957), Swimming Pool and Pool House (1958), and Three Unit Motel Building (c. 1957).It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2010. Today it operates as a Best Western franchise.
