Alcoa Tenn Federal Credit Union (commonly ATFCU or Alcoa Tenn) is a credit union founded in the city of Alcoa, Tennessee that has since spread around Blount and Loudon, and Monroe Counties in Tennessee. Founded on July 9, 1936, as Plate Mill Employees Credit Union connected to the aluminum company ALCOA, the credit union is now a community credit union. It would gain its current name in 1959.The credit union has assets over $350 million. Its current President/CEO is David Gill. ATFCU currently has five branches in the cities of Alcoa, Maryville, and Vonore. It is federally insured by the National Credit Union Administration and a member of the Tennessee Credit Union League. Every year the credit union awards the Franklin E. Robinson Memorial Award to a local high school senior. The award is named for a long-serving engineer and former ATFCU board member.

Alcoa High School is a 9-12 public high school located in Alcoa, Tennessee. It is the only high school in the Alcoa City Schools system. Recently moved into the NEW Alcoa High School. It is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

On 30 November 1973, at 07:48 UTC (02:48 EST), a Mw 4.7 earthquake struck 1 km (0.62 mi) north-east of Alcoa, in the U.S. state of Tennessee. The earthquake was felt 2,100 km2 (810 sq mi) in the area. It was the most powerful known earthquake generated by the Eastern Tennessee Seismic Zone.

The Maryville Alcoa Greenway is a cooperative effort by the two cities and Blount County, Tennessee to connect existing parks with a paved foot and cycle path.

Bicentennial Greenbelt Park is a public park located in downtown Maryville, Tennessee.

The David Jones House on High St. in Maryville, Tennessee, also known as the Elmer B. Waller House, was built in 1874 by Maryville builder David Jones. Jones ran a brick company and built numerous brick buildings in Maryville including the Blount County Courthouse (which burned in 1906).: 36 The house is one of two best examples of Italianate architecture, along with the Peter Bartlett House, in Blount County. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1989.David Jones also built the county's only Second Empire style house on Broadway (at 720 Tuckaleechee Pike), which is also NRHP-listed.

The David Jones House in Maryville, Tennessee, also known as the George Burchfield House, is a Second Empire style house built in 1887. It was built by Maryville brick-maker and builder David Jones. The house is Blount County's only extant example of a residence built in the Second Empire style. It has a straight-sided mansard roof and prominent stone quoining.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.Jones also built the NRHP-listed David Jones House on High Street.

WGAP (1400 AM, "Fun 105.9") is a radio station broadcasting a classic hits music format. Licensed to Maryville, Tennessee, United States, the station serves the Knoxville area. The station is currently owned by Loud Media LLC.On April 15, 2022, it was announced that Blount Broadcasting Corporation has come to an agreement to sell WGAP, its sister station WKVL, and two translators to Loud Media. The sale was consummated on August 17, 2022. On August 22, 2022, WGAP changed its format from classic country to variety hits, branded as "Random Music Radio", simulcasting WKVL 850 AM.On September 20, 2023, WGAP changed its format from variety hits to classic hits, branded as "Fun 105.9".

WSMM (850 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Maryville, Tennessee, and serving the Knoxville metropolitan area. It is owned by Loud Media. By day, WSMM is powered at 1,000 watts non-directional. Because 850 AM is a United States clear-channel frequency, WSMM is a daytimer station, and must leave the air from sunset to sunrise to avoid interference with the skywave signal of the Class A station on 850 AM, KOA in Denver. WSMM programming is also heard around the clock on FM translator W229DO at 93.7 MHz in Maryville.

The John Alexander House is a historic house in Maryville, Tennessee. It was built in 1906 for Presbyterian minister John Alexander, and designed in the Colonial Revival architectural style. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and it is owned by Maryville College.

Anderson Hall, built in 1870, is the oldest building on the campus of Maryville College, Maryville, Tennessee, named for college founder Isaac L. Anderson.Anderson Hall is a brick building designed in the Second Empire style by architect Benjamin Fahnestock. Funds for its construction were contributed by the Freedmen's Bureau, Pittsburgh businessman William Thaw, and John C. Baldwin of New York.Originally the college's only building, Anderson Hall is currently used as a classroom building. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975. Extensive renovations were started in 2008.The bell tower of Anderson Hall is depicted in the college's logo.
