Before Heineken bought a 50% share of the company in 2015, the company met the definition of a craft brewery. Two years prior it ranked fifth top-selling craft brewery in the US. Heineken purchased the remainder of the company in 2017.

Lichau Creek is an 8.9-mile-long (14.3 km) southwest-flowing stream in Sonoma County, California, United States, which flows through the town of Penngrove and discharges into the Petaluma River. The original name of the creek is O'Hara Creek and is named after the settler, John O'Hara, who purchased and owned the land through which the creek flows. O'Hara was born in 1833 in County Sligo, Ireland and settled in Penngrove sometime between 1852 and 1857 and died in 1911 at the age of 78 years. The October 26, 1904, Santa Rosa Republican refers to this creek as O'Hara Creek.

Petaluma North station is a planned Sonoma–Marin Area Rail Transit station in Petaluma, California located at Corona Road and North McDowell Boulevard. The station was planned as an infill station to be constructed after the initial phase of the system's construction had been completed. The site may include a 150-space parking facility. In addition to vehicle and bicycle parking, there will be electric vehicle charging stations available at the station.SMART estimated construction costs for the station at $11 million in 2019. In June 2020, the SMART Board of Directors authorized $8 million from the sale of a district-owned property to be used for design and construction of the station. However, in January 2021, the Petaluma City Council rejected a housing development tied to the station project, placing the station's future in doubt.In July 2022, the city won a $10 million state grant for construction of the station. The city and the Sonoma County Transportation Authority each contributed $2 million for the station's construction, bringing the construction budget to $14 million. Construction of the station and pathway will start in November 2023, and is expected to be completed in late 2024. As of May 2023, the station is expected to open in 2025.

Penngrove is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sonoma County, California, United States, situated between the cities of Petaluma and Cotati, at the foot of the western flank of Sonoma Mountain. It is part of the North Bay subregion of the San Francisco Bay Area. The population was 2,522 at the 2010 census. The area is the site of a historic grove called Penn's Grove; it was formerly a freight station on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad and a center of egg and chicken farming.

The Petaluma Gap is a geographical region in Sonoma County, California which extends in a band from the Pacific Ocean to San Pablo Bay. It is an area of low land 22 to 31 miles (35 to 50 kilometers) wide in the coast ranges of the northern San Francisco Bay Area. The western edge of the gap is located in the coastal lowlands between Bodega Bay and Tomales Bay. The eastern edge of the gap is located at San Pablo Bay around the mouth of the Petaluma River. The city of Petaluma is near the center of the gap. The Petaluma Gap affects wind patterns (and thus microclimates and air quality) in the San Francisco Bay Area. Fresh marine air generally blows eastward through the gap, branching into southward and northward streams which blow toward the Carquinez Strait and Santa Rosa respectively. The southward stream brings marine air overland into the central Bay Area from the northwest. Warm air rises from the land and allows cold, moist air, plus winds and fog to move into the area.

The Philip Sweed House, in Petaluma, California, is a Queen Anne-style house built in 1892. It has sometimes, mistakenly, been reported as the "Philip Swede House." The house is located at the intersection of Keokuk and Prospect Streets. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. Sweed, though of limited formal education himself, was a champion of public education and served on the city's Board of Education from 1893 to 1925.
