The Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Research (ARI) is the biodiversity research organisation for the government of Victoria, Australia. It provides advice on ecologically sustainable land and water management issues and with regard to threatened native flora and fauna. It is named after Sir Arthur Rylah, a long-serving Victorian politician and deputy state premier between 1955 and 1971.

The Head Teacher's residence is a house that, from 1878 to c. 1905 served as the house for the head teacher of the local government primary school, located at 114 Cape Street in Heidelberg, in the City of Banyule, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. Whilst the house remains extant, the building is no longer used for teacher housing. Built in 1878 on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people, the house was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 20 August 1982 in recognition of its architectural and historical significance; and was also added to non-statutory lists by the Victorian branch of the National Trust on 30 June 1977 and the now defunct Register of the National Estate on 30 June 1992.

The hospital is administered by Mercy Health, a Catholic not for profit organisation founded by the Sisters of Mercy.

East View is a villa located at 16 Martin Street in Heidelberg, in the City of Banyule, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. It is one of several houses built by Harold Desbrowe-Annear, a leading Melbourne architect, in the Arts and Crafts style, located in Heidelberg and adjacent suburbs. Built in 1903 on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people, the house was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 10 March 2005 in recognition of its architectural significance; and was also added to a non-statutory list by the City of Banyule on an unknown date.

Our Lady of Mercy College (OLMC), is a Roman Catholic, secondary day school for girls, situated in Heidelberg, a north-eastern suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The college is conducted by the Sisters of Mercy, a congregation of religious Sisters founded in Dublin, Ireland, by Catherine McAuley. OLMC is a member of Girls Sport Victoria (GSV) and the Catholic All Schools Sports Association (CAS). OLMC is split into four houses, Loreto, Carmel, Mercy and McAuley. These four houses compete in swimming, athletics, debating arts and maths competitions.

Heidelberg is a suburb of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 11 kilometres (7 mi) northeast of Melbourne's central business district, located within the City of Banyule local government area. Heidelberg recorded a population of 7,360 at the 2021 census.Once a large town on Melbourne's outskirts, Heidelberg was absorbed into Melbourne as part of the latter's northward expansion after World War II. The St John's Anglican Church is a heritage-listed Anglican church, located at 1 Burgundy Street, in Heidelberg, in the City of Banyule, in the northern suburbs of Melbourne, in Victoria, Australia. Built in 1851 on the traditional lands of the Wurundjeri people, the church was added to the Victorian Heritage Register on 18 June 2026 in recognition of its historical and architectural significance; and was also added to the non-statutory and now defunct Register of the National Estate on 21 March 1978, and by the City of Banyule to a non-statutory local government list on an unknown date. The church is administered by the Anglican Parish of Banyule, that also includes the Holy Spirit Church in Watsonia. The vicar, since 2018, is the Reverend Canon Denise Nicholls. A Catholic church, also dedicated to St John, is located in Heidelberg.

The Glenard Estate, Eaglemont, is a residential estate designed by Walter Burley Griffin (1876-1937) and Marion Mahony Griffin (1871-1961) in 1915. They were commissioned by grazier, Peter Keam to lay out the estate on land he owned after his initial commission to lay out the neighbouring Mount Eagle Estate the previous year. The Glenard Estate is the second earliest garden suburban subdivision designed by the Griffins in Australia, predating Castlecrag in Sydney (1924) by nine years. The estate of 120 lots encompasses Glenard Drive, Mossman Drive, and sections of Lower Heidelberg Road and The Boulevard in Eaglemont, Victoria. The initial sale of the lots was considered a success. The streets follow the site contours with internal reserves provided for community use. These reserves, together with the recommended un-fenced back gardens were intended to provide common playing space for children. Covenants have largely ensured the survival of the original street lay out and internal reserves. The entire estate is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register.
