Huthwaite

All Saints' Church, Huthwaite is a parish church in the Church of England in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire.

Hilcote is a small village in the south of the Bolsover district in Derbyshire, England, located close to the A38 junction with the M1 (Junction 28). The village is surrounded by the villages of South Normanton, Blackwell, Old Blackwell and Huthwaite in Nottinghamshire. The nearest towns are Alfreton to the west and Sutton-in-Ashfield(where the population is included) to the east. The village is a former mining village and was previously called 'B' Winning. 'B' Winning pit was named after the seam of coal being mined from Blackwell Colliery. The village exists because of the pit, which was first sunk in the last part of the 19th century and was worked until 1964. When 'B' Winning pit closed the land was reclaimed and classed as Grade 4 agricultural land. There are about 200 houses in the village with approximately 350 residents. The Post Office, which also served as a general store, off-licence and video library closed in 2019. Many of the houses in the village were built for the mineworkers by Blackwell Colliery Company and are considered to be unique examples of this type of architecture and size of house for miners. Other houses in the village date back to the 17th and 18th centuries. When the pit was working there were a number of shops, which have since disappeared. The village has three pubs, The Hilcote Country Club, Hilcote Miners Welfare and Hilcote Arms. The Miner's Welfare was burnt down, demolished and rebuilt during the 1990s. Hilcote chapel closed too. A number of residents are the third generation of their families in Hilcote. Many people were born on what was called Top Row and Side Row at 'B' Winning.

Sutton Town A.F.C. was a football club based in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, England. The previous club was a member of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division until 2007 when they resigned, but the new club joined the Central Midlands League Premier Division, three levels lower in the English football league system, and later played in the East Midlands Counties League. The team was reformed in 2020, and was initially accepted into the Notts Senior league, but they never started the seasons fixtures. They then began playing friendlies in Spring 2021 ahead of again joining the Notts Senior League. They played against Nottinghamshire, Nuthall AFC, Trent Vineyard and Rushcliffe Reserves although the results were not made public.

Brierley Forest Park, Sutton in Ashfield was designated a Local Nature Reserve in 2006. It contains Calcareous grassland, sown grassland, wildflower meadows with hoary ragwort, yellow-wort, wild carrot and lesser trefoil. There are four wetland feature areas, Brierley Waters, a reed swamp, Rooley Brook and the visitor centre pond. There are species rich hedgerows, woodland and semi natural vegetation.

Whiteborough railway station was station serving the village of Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire on the Midland Railway's line from Westhouses and Blackwell in to Mansfield Woodhouse line. The line opened in 1883, following the opening of Pleasley Colliery in 1878. It closed to passengers in 1930.

Pinxton Castle, Derbyshire, is a scheduled monument in Castle Wood that straddles Pinxton and South Normanton. In its designation as a scheduled monument, Historic England describes it as having been a motte and fortified manor, with a moated site and five fishponds. Unlike most of the about 6000 moated sites in England, a large, fortified enclosure surrounded the moat.

Sutton Colliery was in the village of Stanton Hill, Nottinghamshire, England. It is now a country park.

Teversal Football Club are a semi-professional football club based in Teversal, near Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England. Teversal will rejoin the Central Midlands League for the 2022-23 season following relegation from the Northern Counties East League Division One.

Stanton Hill is a village in the Ashfield district of Nottinghamshire.

Teversall Manor is a former railway station in Teversal, Nottinghamshire on the Derbyshire border west of Mansfield.

Silverhill is an artificial hill near Teversal in Nottinghamshire, and is one of the highest points in the county at 204.3 metres (670 ft). Originally it was a mine spoil heap on the site of the former Silverhill colliery which closed in the 1990s. It was subsequently landscaped in 2005 by Nottinghamshire County Council, with tree planting, numerous footpaths, and a viewpoint. It is now known as Silverhill Woods, and is one of a number of recreation sites in the area. These are linked together by multi-user trails, many of which incorporate the track beds of disused railway lines which once served the various local collieries.

All Saints' Church, Stanton Hill is a parish church in the Church of England in Stanton Hill, Nottinghamshire. The church is not a listed building, however, Stanton Hill War Memorial, in front of the Church is Grade II listed by the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport as it is of special architectural or historic interest.
