Mulbarton is a village and civil parish located south of Norwich in the English county of Norfolk. It covers an area of 5.34 km2 (2.06 sq mi).The place-name 'Mulbarton' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Molkebertuna and Molkebertestuna. The name means "outlying dairy farm", the first element being the Old English 'meoluc' meaning 'milk', and the second element the Old English 'beretun' meaning 'barley town or settlement', hence 'farm'.The population at the 2001 census was 2,827, increasing to 3,521 at the 2011 census.Facilities include one school (Mulbarton Primary School), an Adnams' public house, The World's End, a social club, two convenience stores (One Stop and Co-op), a church, a fish-and-chip shop, a Chinese takeaway, and an MOT and vehicle repair centre. There is a regular bus service to Norwich. In the centre of the village is a large common, with a pond where many ducks live.

Swainsthorpe was a railway station in Swainsthorpe, England, around five miles south of Norwich. It was opened in 1850 when the Great Eastern Railway constructed the line between London and Norwich. It was the first station south of the terminus at Norwich Victoria. It was well served, in 1889 there were eight trains each way on weekdays. Journey time into Norwich was approximately nine minutes. Swainsthorpe closed in 1954 as the relatively small population of Swainsthorpe meant it was considered a surplus to requirements. Today trains run straight through from Norwich to Diss.

Bracon Ash is a village and civil parish in the South Norfolk district of Norfolk, England. The villages name has evolved from 'Bracken' as recorded by Christopher Saxton in 1574, with the later addition of 'ash-tree'. According to the 2001 United Kingdom national census, the Bracon Ash and Hethel Parish covered an area of 9.84 km2 and had a population of 446 people, spread between 171 households.[1]. The population at the 2011 census had increased to 460.St Nicholas Church, with no tower, is Grade 1 listed, like most other churches in South Norfolk, in the Domesday Book of 1086, with a church and a rectory.Centered around the Grade II listed war memorial most of the amenities have been converted into housing including a Bakery, Post-Office, School. The B1113 road runs through the village, which is about 6+1⁄2 miles (10.5 km) south of the city of Norwich. England's smallest official nature reserve Hethel Thorn is accessed from the west of the village.The children's play-park attracts visitors from the neighboring villages due to its excellent facilities and quiet location.Bracon Ash Common is a small area of woodland and ponds running adjacent to Mergate Lane. A public sculpture of 'Bracon Ash Village Sign' is located opposite the village hall. Designed by Jonathan Stevens as a project whilst studying at Wymondham College in 1994.

Swainsthorpe is a village in the English County of Norfolk in England. It lies on the A140 road, approximately 5 miles south of Norwich, and just north of Newton Flotman. It covers an area of 3.38 km2 (1.31 sq mi) and had a population of 374 in 159 households at the 2001 census, the population reducing to 360 at the 2011 Census. The village had two Churches, St.Peter's and St. Mary's, the latter is now in ruins.The villages name means 'Sveinn's outlying farm/settlement'.

Eaton Common is a 5.3-hectare (13-acre) Local Nature Reserve on the southern outskirts of Norwich in the county of Norfolk in England, United Kingdom. It is owned and managed by Norwich City Council.This site on the bank of the River Yare is mainly grassland, some of which is marshy. There are also small areas of broadleaved woodland and tall herbs.There is access from Church Lane.

Keswick is a village in the civil parish of Keswick and Intwood, in Norfolk, England. It is situated some 3 miles (4.8 km) to the south of the city of Norwich. It should not be mistaken for the coastal settlement of Keswick, near Bacton, which is also in Norfolk.[1]The civil parish has an area of 5.52 km2 (2.13 sq mi) and in the 2001 census had a population of 431 in 248 households, the population increasing to 444 at the 2011 census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of South Norfolk.[2]The church of Keswick All Saints is one of 124 existing round-tower churches in Norfolk. There was a small early church here, but it was demolished c 1598 to use the materials to repair Intwood’s round-tower church, when the two parishes were consolidated. The original east wall of the chancel still stands to the east of the existing church, and part of the tower could also be Saxon, although it was much repaired in 1893. At that time the short nave was added to the tower to make a mortuary chapel. In 1934 church services were authorised, but the apse was not added until some decades later.Keswick Hall near All Saints was the representative manor and country house that served as a residence of the Gurney family. Between 1948 and 1981 it accommodated a teacher training college (which was then incorporated into the University of East Anglia) prior to being converted into apartments. Several members of the Gurneys of Keswick are buried in the churchyard of All Saints.Former professional footballer Darren Huckerby lives in the village.

Cringleford is a parish and village in Norfolk, England on the banks of the River Yare on the outskirts of Norwich. The village is in the South Norfolk local government district and is part of the Norfolk South Parliamentary constituency. Cringleford forms part the wider Norwich Built-up area. A village existed here at least as early as Saxon times and there is evidence of human settlement in the area from Roman times and the Bronze Age.The place-name 'Cringleford' is first attested in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle for 1043 or 1044, where it appears as Cringelforth. In the Domesday Book of 1086 it appears as Kringelforda. The name means 'ford by the round hill'. The first element may be Scandinavian, as Old Norse kringla means 'a circle'.The size of the village is 4.04 square kilometres (1.56 sq mi) and the population of the village (including Intwood) at the time of the 2011 UK census was 2963. The population is likely to increase as a result of the current process of suburbanisation, with new housing development and improved transport links such as the Norwich South Bypass. Lying close to the city of Norwich the village has become popular with commuters.
