Swardeston is a village four miles (6 km) south of Norwich in Norfolk, England, on high ground above the Tas valley. It covers an area of 3.95 km2 (1.53 sq mi) and had a population of 619 at the 2011 census.

Bracon Ash is a village and civil parish in the South Norfolk district of Norfolk, England. The villages name has evolved from 'Bracken' as recorded by Christopher Saxton in 1574, with the later addition of 'ash-tree'. According to the 2001 United Kingdom national census, the Bracon Ash and Hethel Parish covered an area of 9.84 km2 and had a population of 446 people, spread between 171 households.[1]. The population at the 2011 census had increased to 460.St Nicholas Church, with no tower, is Grade 1 listed, like most other churches in South Norfolk, in the Domesday Book of 1086, with a church and a rectory.Centered around the Grade II listed war memorial most of the amenities have been converted into housing including a Bakery, Post-Office, School. The B1113 road runs through the village, which is about 6+1⁄2 miles (10.5 km) south of the city of Norwich. England's smallest official nature reserve Hethel Thorn is accessed from the west of the village.The children's play-park attracts visitors from the neighboring villages due to its excellent facilities and quiet location.Bracon Ash Common is a small area of woodland and ponds running adjacent to Mergate Lane. A public sculpture of 'Bracon Ash Village Sign' is located opposite the village hall. Designed by Jonathan Stevens as a project whilst studying at Wymondham College in 1994.

Norwich Church of England Young Men's Society Football Club, commonly called Norwich CEYMS is a football club based in Swardeston, near Norwich, in Norfolk, England. They are currently members of the Anglian Combination Premier Division, having previously played in the Eastern Counties League. It has been suggested that the world's oldest football song, "On The Ball, City", was used for CEYMS before being adopted by Norwich City.The club is affiliated to the Norfolk County FA.

It covers an area of 5.34 km2 (2.06 sq mi).The place-name 'Mulbarton' is first attested in the Domesday Book of 1086, where it appears as Molkebertuna and Molkebertestuna. The name means "outlying dairy farm", the first element being the Old English 'meoluc' meaning 'milk', and the second element the Old English 'beretun' meaning 'barley town or settlement', hence 'farm'.The population at the 2001 census was 2,827, increasing to 3,521 at the 2011 census.Facilities include one school (Mulbarton Primary School), an Adnams' public house, The World's End, a social club, two convenience stores (One Stop and Co-op), a church, a fish-and-chip shop, a Chinese takeaway, and an MOT and vehicle repair centre. There is a regular bus service to Norwich. In the centre of the village is a large common, with a pond where many ducks live.

Swainsthorpe was a railway station in Swainsthorpe, England, around five miles south of Norwich. It was opened in 1850 when the Great Eastern Railway constructed the line between London and Norwich. It was the first station south of the terminus at Norwich Victoria. It was well served, in 1889 there were eight trains each way on weekdays. Journey time into Norwich was approximately nine minutes. Swainsthorpe closed in 1954 as the relatively small population of Swainsthorpe meant it was considered a surplus to requirements. Today trains run straight through from Norwich to Diss.

The village had two Churches, St.Peter's and St. Mary's, the latter is now in ruins.The villages name means 'Sveinn's outlying farm/settlement'.

Flordon railway station served the village of Flordon, Norfolk. It was opened in 1849, when the line from London Liverpool Street to Norwich Victoria was constructed; the station was served by Eastern Union Railway stopping services between Norwich and Ipswich. It was closed in 1966, as a result of the Beeching Axe, along with other smaller stations between Norwich and Ipswich. The line through the former station site continues to operate today, hosting electric inter-city services between London Liverpool Street and Norwich.

Hethel Old Thorn is a 0.025-hectare (0.062-acre) nature reserve south-west of Norwich in Norfolk. It is managed by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.This is the smallest wildlife trust nature reserve in Britain, consisting of one ancient hawthorn tree, which may date to the thirteenth century. In 1755 its girth was recorded as 9 feet 1 inch, and it has now decayed to a much smaller size, but it is still healthy.

Newton Flotman, meaning new farm or settlement, is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, lies about 7 miles (11 km) south of Norwich on the A140 road between Tasburgh and Swainsthorpe. The River Tas flows through the village. The area of 4.87 km2 (1.88 sq mi) had 1,197 inhabitants in 497 households at the 2001 census, increasing to 1,489 at the 2011 census. For local government it lies in the district of South Norfolk.
