The National Museum of Šumadija (Serbian: Народни музеј Шумадије) in Kragujevac, Serbia was founded in 1949 as the main museum of the city. The museum is named after the historical region of Šumadija. The museum includes buildings that were once part of Prince Miloš Obrenović court, as well as some of the oldest houses in Kragujevac. The museum houses archaeological, ethnological, historical, and artistic collections with over 26,000 artifacts.

Amidža Konak (Serbian: Амиџин конак / Amidžin konak, from Turkish: amca, meaning "uncle"; English: Uncle's Residence) is a 19th-century residence of Turkish-style architecture located in the old part of the city of Kragujevac in central Serbia. It was built in 1819-1824 by Serbian Prince Miloš Obrenović, and it was named after Sima Milosavljević-Paštrmac, called Amidža, a Serbian hajduk and staff member of the court of Obrenović. Only Amidža Konak remained from large complex of building that existed during Miloš Obrenović time. Nearby, Miloš's Konak existed, and it was destroyed in 1941, during World War II, and also, Princess Ljubica Konak, that burned down in 1884. Amidža Konak served as a residence of Sima and his colleagues that passed through Kragujevac, and now serves as a national museum.It is part of Cultural Monuments of Great Importance.

Kragujevac (Serbian Cyrillic: Крагујевац, pronounced [krǎɡujeʋats] ) is the fourth largest city in Serbia and the administrative centre of the Šumadija District. It is the historical centre of the geographical region of Šumadija in central Serbia, and is situated on the banks of the Lepenica River. According to the 2022 census, City of Kragujevac has 171,186 inhabitants. Kragujevac was the first capital of modern Serbia and the first constitution in the Balkans, the Sretenje Constitution, was proclaimed in the city in 1838. A unit of the Scottish Women's Hospitals for Foreign Service was located there in World War I. During the Second World War, Kragujevac was the site of a massacre by the Nazis in which 2,778 Serb men and boys were killed. Modern Kragujevac is known for its large munitions (Zastava Arms) and automobile (FCA Srbija) industries, as well as its status as an education centre housing the University of Kragujevac, one of the region's largest higher education institutions.

The First Grammar School of Kragujevac (Serbian: Прва крагујевачка гимназија, Prva kragujevačka gimnazija) is a high school located in Kragujevac, Serbia. Founded in 1833, the school is the oldest Serbian high school south of the Sava - Danube line.

The Princely Serbian Theatre (Serbian Cyrillic: Књажевско-српски театар) is the oldest theatre in Central Serbia. It is based in City of Kragujevac, the fourth largest city of Serbia. The theatre was founded in 1835 by Miloš Obrenović, Prince of Serbia. In the time when theatre was founded, Kragujevac was the first capital of the Principality of Serbia.

Joakimfest is an annual international theatre festival held in Kragujevac, Serbia, at the Princely Serbian Theatre in the second week of October each year.

Stari Grad (Serbian Cyrillic: Стари Град) or Stara Varoš (Serbian Cyrillic: Стара Варош), was one of five city municipalities which constituted the City of Kragujevac. It was the central city municipality and the most populous. The municipality was formed in May 2002, only to be dissolved in March 2008.

The Jezero Hall is an indoor sporting arena located in Kragujevac, Serbia. The capacity of the arena is 4,000 people. It is currently home to the Radnički Kragujevac basketball, volleyball teams and KMF Ekonomac Kragujevac The first sporting event in the venue took place on 20 October 1978 with a basketball match between KK Radnički Kragujevac and KK Jugoplastika Split.

The Clinical Centre of Kragujevac (Serbian: Клинички Центар Крагујевац; abbr. КЦК / KCK) is a medical centre located in Kragujevac, Serbia. It serves as the main medical centre for both Kragujevac and Šumadija and Western Serbia.

Aquarium Center Kragujevac (Aquarium — Centre for Conservation of Biodiversity and Fishing in inland waters; Serbian: Centar za ribarstvo i konzervaciju biodiverziteta kopnenih voda — Akvarijum) is the first and only public freshwater aquarium in Serbia. At the same time it is the largest aquarium and the only aqua zoo in Serbia. It was founded in 1999. Aquarium is organizational unit of the Institute for Biology and Ecology, at Faculty of Science in Kragujevac, and is located in the premises of this scientific institution. It covers 400 square meters, and its capacity is 60,000 l. It is part of the tourist offer of the city of Kragujevac.

Fiat Serbia – formerly "FIAT Automobiles Serbia" (FAS) from 2008 to 2014, then "FCA Serbia" (FCAS) until 2021 – is a Serbian automotive manufacturing company based in Kragujevac, Serbia. It is a joint venture (JV) between the ex-Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), merged into Stellantis in 2021, which owns 67% of the operation, and the Republic of Serbia, which owns the remainder. The company headquarters and assembly plant are located on the former site of Zastava Automobiles (1953–2008) – 70 miles south of Belgrade on the Lepenica river in the country's central Šumadija region. Heavily damaged during the NATO Bombing of Yugoslavia, the factory was completely renovated and modernized, reopening in April 2012 as one of Europe's state of the art car factories.The operation currently has roughly 2,000 employees and works closely with 15 other companies and component suppliers, many located at the adjacent Grosnica Supplier Park — with a combined workforce of roughly 6,000 tied to production at Fiat Serbia. The factory has a daily output of roughly 400 cars.The JV is the largest foreign industrial investment in Serbia and as the country's largest exporter, with exports valued at 1 billion euro ($1.1 billion) in 2016. The plant manufactures the Fiat 500L, a five-door, five passenger, front-engine, front-wheel drive, high-roof B-segment MPV, which Stellantis markets globally in more than 100 countries — with the notable exception of Russia. By early 2018, production surpassed 500,000 units.

The University of Kragujevac (Serbian: Универзитет у Крагујевцу, romanized: Univerzitet u Kragujevcu) is a public university in Kragujevac, Serbia. It is the oldest and the largest higher education institution in Šumadija and Western Serbia. The contemporary centralized university was founded in 1976 and today is organized into 12 constituent faculties. The university offers 118 study programs in the fields of natural sciences and mathematics, social and human sciences, medical sciences, engineering sciences, and arts. As of 2020–21 school year, there are around 14,179 enrolled students on undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, integrated and vocational studies.University of Kragujevac integrates functions of all faculties and organizational units (centers, institutes) in its structure, by implementing unique policy aimed at constant improving of higher education, and improving the quality of teaching, scientific research and artistic development of youth, introduction of scientific research to students, as well as the creation of material conditions for the operations and development of the University. Students of the University of Kragujevac can use five dormitories – two in Kragujevac, and one each in Užice, Čačak and Kraljevo, where over 1,400 students can reside.
