Thelliyar Agaram

Dr. M. S. Swaminathan Wetland Eco Park is an urban park in the city of Chennai, India. Created with an initial investment of Rs. 20 crores and inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M. K. Stalin at Thelliyar Agaram on the outskirts of Chennai on 7 March 2025, the park is named after Indian agricultural scientist and Bharat Ratna awardee, M. S. Swaminathan who was instrumental in creation of the eco park and passed away a few months before its opening. The park is situated on the northern shores of the Porur Lake and maintained by the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA).

SRIHER consists of nine constituent colleges and faculties with more than 6000 students. SRIHER was founded by Sri Ramachandra Education & Health Trust on September 11, 1985 by N. P. V. Ramasamy Udayar. It was founded as a medical college, and was awarded the deemed to be university status in September 1994.

This station initially named after Ramachandra Hospital nearby, was changed to Thelliyaragaram metro station. It is slated to be commercialized on December 2025.

Porur Lake is located on the fringes of Porur in south-west Chennai and is a primary water resource for people residing in Chennai. It is a temporary catchment area connected with Chembarambakkam Lake. It is spread over 200 acres with a capacity of 46 million cubic feet (mcft). There are four filters working 24x7 to pump water to K. K. Nagar double tank distribution point. Bathing, washing and/or swimming is currently prohibited in this lake from 1995. A better view of the lake can be appreciated from the Chennai bypass.In 2012, the Water Resources Department initiated a project to increase the capacity the tank along with two other lakes in the city at a cost of ₹ 130 crore. This would deepen the lake by at least 1 m and increases the capacity to 70 mcft.

Porur (Tamil: [poːɾuːɾ]) is a neighbourhood of Chennai, India. It is situated in the Maduravoyal taluk of Chennai district in the southern part of the city. Since 2011, it has been a part of the Chennai Corporation and included in zone number 11.The earliest recorded history of Porur goes back to the Chola period when it served as the headquarters of an administrative division (nadu) called Perur Nadu. Porur Lake is the major source of fresh water for suburban areas such as Iyyapanthangal, Moulivakkam and Mangadu. Porur is also known for the Ramachandra Medical College. Porur houses Mono-pulse Secondary Surveillance radar, one of the two radars in the city, which aids air-transport communication.

Iyyappanthangal is a western neighborhood of Chennai, Tamilnadu, India. It comes under Mangadu Municipality of Chennai Metropolitan Area (CMA), governed by CMDA. It is located 20 kilometres (12 mi) away from Fort St George on the Mount-Poonamallee Road. The nearest railway stations are at Guindy (Chennai South Line) about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) away and Avadi (Chennai West Line) about 12 kilometres (7.5 mi) away. The Porur Junction where a much needed road overbridge on the busy Guindy–Poonamallee stretch was built after a very long delay of nearly five years is just about 2 km from Iyyapanthangal and the Poonamallee Junction is just about 6 km from the town.

Porur Ramanatheswarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva, located in the neighbourhood of Porur in Chennai, India. The temple was built in the 8th century CE during the Chola period. The temple is one of the nine Navagraha temples of the Tondai Mandalam and is known as the Guru sthala (lit. place of Guru or Brihaspati).
