Naßfeld Pass

Gartnerkofel (2,195 m) is a mountain of the Carnic Alps in Carinthia, Austria. It is located on the main chain of the Carnics above the Naßfeld Pass, near the border with Italy. The nearest town is Hermagor-Pressegger See. The mountain has two summits, and ravines fall down from its northern slopes, which are separated by rocky ridges. The normal route is from the northwest, from where it an easy climb across the ridge to the summit. The mountain is also a popular ski touring destination.

The Corona Formation is a geologic formation of the Carnian Alps at the border of Austria and Italy. It preserves fossils dated to the Gzhelian stage of the Late Carboniferous period.The 300 metres (980 ft) thick formation comprises deposited in a deltaic environment. The Corona Formation has provided fossils of fish, brachiopods, a bryozoan, an insect, fossil flora including trunks and ichnofossils ascribed to Limnopus. The tracks from the Corona Formation include the oldest record of tetrapod tracks from the Southern Alps. The rugose coral Amplexus coronae was named after the formation.

Moggio Udinese (Friulian: Mueç, German: Mosach or Mosnitz, Slovene: Možac or Možnicia) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Udine in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia. It is situated in the Friuli region, in the valley of the Fella River, a right tributary of the Tagliamento. Moggio is located about 100 kilometres (62 mi) northwest of Trieste and about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Udine. In the north, the mountains of the Carnic Alps stretch up to the border with Austria; beyond the Fella are the Julian Alps with the Resia Valley in the southeast. As of 31 December 2004, the municipality had a population of 1,991 and an area of 143.5 square kilometres (55.4 sq mi). It can be reached via the Autostrada A23. As of 31 December 2014 it had a population of 311 and an area of 20.0 square kilometres (7.7 sq mi).The municipality of Resiutta contains the frazione Povici. Resiutta borders the following municipalities: Chiusaforte, Moggio Udinese, Resia, Venzone.

The Bombaso Formation, also known as Waidegger Conglomerate, Waidegger Group, Waidegg Formation or Collendiaul Formation, is a geologic formation in the Carnic Alps in southern Austria. It preserves fossils dated to the Moscovian age of the Carboniferous period.

Monte Sernio is a remote mountain of the Carnic Alps, in Udine, northeast Italy, with an elevation of 2,187 m. It is located, together with the nearby Creta Grauzaria, in the mountain chain between the Incarojo Valley, near the village of Paularo, and the Aupa Valley. It was first climbed in 1879 by sisters Minetta and Annina Grassi.
