Ratonneau

The Frioul archipelago is a group of four islands located off the Mediterranean coast of France, approximately 4 kilometres (2 miles) from Marseille. The islands of the archipelago cover a total land area of approximately 200 hectares. According to the 2015 census, the population was 146. The islands of Pomègues and Ratonneau are connected by a mole, Digue de Berry, built in 1822.

The Château d'If (French pronunciation: ​[ʃɑto dif]) is a fortress located on the Île d'If, the smallest island in the Frioul archipelago, situated about 1.5 kilometres (7⁄8 mile) offshore from Marseille in southeastern France. Built in the 16th century, it later served as a prison until the end of the 19th century. The fortress was demilitarized and open to the public in 1890. It is famous for being one of the settings of Alexandre Dumas's adventure novel The Count of Monte Cristo.

The Vallon des Auffes is a little traditional fishing haven in Marseille in the 7th arrondissement of Marseille. It is situated 2.5 km south-west of the Vieux-Port over the corniche Kennedy, between the Catalans beach and Malmousque bay.

The General Levelling of France (niveau général de la France or NGF) forms a network of benchmarks in mainland France and Corsica, now overseen by the Institut Géographique National. It is now the official levelling network in mainland France. It is made up of two networks: NGF - IGN69 for mainland France, with the 'zero level' determined by the tide gauge at Marseille NGF - IGN78 for Corsica, with the 'zero level' determined by the tide gauge at Ajaccio

The Villa Valmer is a historic mansion in the 7th arrondissement of Marseille, France. It is located near several other villas such as the La villa de Gaby Deslys. The building is in the Renaissance style with three floors. There is a garden open to the public.

The Cercle des nageurs de Marseille (Circle of Marseille's swimmers) is an elite swim club based in Marseille, France, founded in 1921. It is best known for its water polo team which is the most decorated in France, and also for training many of the French Olympic swimmers, including Frédérick Bousquet, Fabien Gilot, Camille Lacourt, Florent Manaudou, Laure Manaudou and others.

The Ledge of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy (French: Corniche du président-John-Fitzgerald-Kennedy; locally dubbed La Corniche) is a street in the 7th arrondissement of Marseille, France. It runs along the Mediterranean coast from the beach at Les Catalans in the city centre to Promenade Georges Pompidou and the Plages du Prado in the south, at the limit with the 8th arrondissement. It was named after US President John Fitzgerald Kennedy the year of his assassination, in 1963.

Aix-Marseille University (AMU; French: Aix-Marseille Université; formally incorporated as Université d'Aix-Marseille) is a public research university located in the Provence region of southern France. The institution was founded in 1409 when Louis II of Anjou, Count of Provence, petitioned the Pisan Antipope Alexander V to establish the University of Provence, making it the fourth-oldest university in France. It came into its current form following a reunification of the University of Provence, the University of the Mediterranean and Paul Cézanne University. The reunification became effective on 1 January 2012, resulting in the creation of the largest university in the Francophone world, with about 80,000 students. AMU has the largest budget of any academic institution in the French-speaking world standing at €750 million. The Palais du Pharo is a palace in Marseille, France. It was built in 1858 by Emperor Napoleon III for Empress Eugénie.

The Phare de Sainte Marie is an inactive lighthouse built to mark the harbor of Marseille, France. Completed in 1855, it is made of natural-finished local limestone and stands 70 feet high. It is located at the north side of the Passe de la Joliette. This is at the southern entrance to the series of bassins that form the harbor. It was upgraded to electrical illumination in 1922 but is now inactive. This lighthouse was a featured clue box destination for teams to find on the fourth season of the reality television show, The Amazing Race.
