It is situated on Harcles Hill near Ramsbottom 1100 feet (335 metres) above sea level. Due to its proximity to the village of Holcombe, Harcles Hill is more commonly known as Holcombe Hill and the monument as Holcombe or Peel Tower.Construction began soon after Peel’s death in 1850, and the monument was officially opened on 9th September 1852. It cost £1000 to build and stands 128 feet tall.

Ebenezer Cottage, also known as The Shell House, was a domestic residence on Broad Lane in Rochdale, historically in Lancashire, now within Greater Manchester, England. In 1936, its owner, retired mill operator John Halstead, began decorating the building's exterior with various small items, including shells, bottles, teapots, broken tiles, picture frames, ornaments and other bric-à-brac. It became something of a local landmark, but after Halstead's death in 1940, the new owners of the property restored the house to its original façade.

Hey House is a Grade II* listed building on Holcombe Old Road in Ramsbottom, a market town within the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, Greater Manchester, England. Built around 1616 as a Jacobean hunting lodge for the de Trafford family, it was enlarged later in the 17th century and is recorded in parish documents by the 1650s. The house is traditionally associated with the Holcombe Hunt, established in 1708, and is believed to have served as its early base. It also contains interior features said to have been salvaged from Whalley Abbey after the Dissolution. Now divided into two dwellings, Hey House retains much of its historic character, and its former outbuildings have been converted for residential use.

Woodhey High School is a coeducational secondary school in Ramsbottom, in the Metropolitan Borough of Bury, Greater Manchester, England.Woodhey High School was built by Bury LEA (Local Education Authority) in 1979 to replace the Peel Brow Secondary Modern school. Previously a community school administered by Bury Metropolitan Borough Council, in October 2020 Woodhey High School converted to academy status.
