Hutton Rudby is a village and civil parish situated 4 miles (6.4 km) west of the market town of Stokesley in the Hambleton District, North Yorkshire, England. At the 2011 census, the village's parish and built-up area subdivision had a population of 1,572 while its main population (including Rudby) had a population of 1,968.

Sexhow is a hamlet and civil parish in Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. The name of the hamlet derives from Old Norse of either sexhou or sekkshaughr, which means the hill of Sekk, a personal name. The population taken at the 2011 Census was less than 100, so details of the population are included on the civil parish of Potto. However, in 2015, North Yorkshire County Council estimated the population to be 20. It is on the River Leven and 5 miles (8 km) west of Stokesley.Sexhow hosts the annual Elim Festival every summer, organised by the Elim Pentecostal Church.Sexhow station was on the Picton-Battersby Line; it operated from 1857 until passenger services on the line ended in 1954.There used to be a hall where Sexhow Park Farm now stands. Sexhow Park Farm has been the location of the 'Cornshed' music festival since 1986.A legendary dragon that plagued the village is a folk tale known as The Worm of Sexhow. It was described as being a beast that would feed on dairy and breathe out fire to burn farmers crops. One day, a knight came into the village, slew the beast and rode out again. The beast's scaly skin was said to have been displayed inside nearby Hutton Rudby church.

Rudby Hall, Hutton Rudby, Skutterskelfe, North Yorkshire is a country house dating from 1838. Its origins are older but the present building was built for the 10th Viscount Falkland and his wife by the architect Anthony Salvin. The house is Grade II* listed.

Potto railway station was a railway station built just north of the village of Potto in North Yorkshire, England. The station was on the North Yorkshire and Cleveland's railway line between Picton and Stokesley. The line was extended progressively until it met the Whitby and Pickering Line at Grosmont. Potto station was closed in 1954 to passengers and four years later to goods.

The population of the parish at the 2011 census was 129.The parish has a single Grade II* listed building, Rudby Hall, at Hutton Rudby, formerly called Leven Grove, and then Skutterskelfe Hall. The parish has three Grade II listed buildings, all connected to the hall – the pump house, the terrace walls and balustrade, garden wall and gate piers, and the north lodge to the park.

Potto is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton district of North Yorkshire, England. It is 5 miles (8 kilometres) south-west of Stokesley and near the main A172 road. Potto has a pub, a church and a haulage company.

Sexhow railway station was a railway station built to serve the hamlet of Sexhow in North Yorkshire, England. The station was on the North Yorkshire and Cleveland's railway line between Picton and Stokesley, which opened in 1857. The line was extended progressively until it met the Whitby & Pickering Railway at Grosmont. Sexhow station was closed in 1954 to passengers and four years later to goods. The station was located 13 miles (21 km) south of Stockton, and 3.75 miles (6.04 km) west of Battersby railway station.

Hilton is a village and civil parish in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees and the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England. It is a small village with an estimated population of around 400, measured at 374 in the 2011 census. Despite its proximity to Teesside, the village retains its rural feel, and has a number of public footpaths surrounding it. The village church, the Church of St Peter, Hilton, which is largely unaltered since its building in the 12th century. The old Hilton Manor House was demolished in the 1960s and the site is now occupied by a number of houses along Manor Drive. Until the 1960s the village consisted of only around a dozen properties plus a few farms, but several small-scale housing developments in the 1970s and 1990s have seen the size of the village increase dramatically. The village has no shop, but has retained its pub, The Falcon (formerly The Fox & Hounds). At the turn of the Millennium, Hilton's village hall was refurbished and extended.

Crathorne is a village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England. The parish population was 172 at the 2011 census. The River Leven flows through the parish. The A19 used to run through the village before a dual carriageway was built in 1975. Now the A67 follows the route of the old A19 north towards Yarm. The village is the ancestral home of the Crathorne family, dating back to Sir William de Crathorne, knighted by Edward II in 1327. The village is now home to James Dugdale, 2nd Baron Crathorne, whose family purchased the Crathorne estate in 1844, and rebuilt Crathorne Hall in 1906, owning it until 1977. The hall is now a country house hotel owned by Hand Picked Hotels. The village is also home to Crathorne Cricket Club, which plays its cricket in the Langbaurgh League Second Division.

Whorlton Castle is a ruined medieval castle situated near the abandoned village of Whorlton (at grid reference NZ4802) in North Yorkshire, England. It was established in the early 12th century as a Norman motte-and-bailey associated with the nearby settlement. The castle is an unusual example of a motte-and-bailey that remained in use throughout the Middle Ages and into the early modern period. Built to overlook an important road on the western edge of the North York Moors, the castle fell into ruin as early as the mid-14th century. The site nonetheless continued to be inhabited until at least the early 17th century. Little now remains of the castle itself, other than the remnants of some cellars or undercrofts. The ruined shell of a 14th-century gatehouse still survives, albeit in fairly poor condition. It is a listed building and is privately owned but can be visited by the public.
