Crathorne, North Yorkshire

St Mary's Church is a Catholic church in Crathorne, North Yorkshire, a village in England. Although some sources say that the church was built in 1777, a document from 1816 states that a different building was in use as the Catholic chapel at the time, having been converted from a cowhouse. The current building was constructed between 1820 and 1821, and is one of the earliest Catholic chapels in the region. A porch was added after World War II. The building is attached to the 18th-century former priest's house, which is now a private house. The building was restored in the mid-1960s, and was grade II* listed in 1966. The building is constructed of light red brick, with bracketed eaves, and a Welsh slate roof with stone gable coping. There is a single storey, and along the side are three windows with a roll-moulded surrounds and Tudor arched heads, and a sill band. The porch is to the southwest. Inside the church is Gothick decoration and fittings, a gallery at the west end, and box pews. The plasterwork is particularly rich, and is believed to have originally been painted in bright colours, and to have been created by Italian craftworkers.

All Saints' Church is an Anglican church in Crathorne, North Yorkshire, a village in England. There was a church on the site before the Norman Conquest, with some work done in the 12th century. It was entirely rebuilt in the 14th century, reusing some earlier fragments. The chancel was partly rebuilt and increased in height in 1844, while in 1888, the building was heavily restored by C. Hodgson Fowler, with a tower and porch added, and further work on the chancel and nave. Several Saxon stones were discovered when rebuilding the west wall, and almost all were reset into the interior walls, to display them. The building was grade II* listed in 1966. The church is built of sandstone with Lakeland slate roofs, and consists of a nave, a chancel and a west tower. The tower has three stages, diagonal buttresses, gargoyles, an embattled parapet, and a short leaded pyramidal spire with a ball finial and a weathervane. The windows in the nave have pointed heads, those in the chancel and tower have flat heads, and the east and west windows contain Decorated tracery. Inside are two effigies, one claimed to be of William de Crathorne, who died in 1346, and one of a deacon.

Trenholme Bar railway station was a railway station built to serve the hamlet of Trenholme Bar in North Yorkshire, England. The station was on the North Yorkshire and Cleveland's railway line between Picton and Stokesley, which opened in 1857. The line was extended progressively until it met the Whitby & Pickering Railway at Grosmont. Trenholme Bar station was closed in 1954 to passengers and four years later to goods. The station was located 9 miles (14 km) south of Stockton, and 10 miles (16 km) west of Battersby railway station.The A19 trunk road now runs through part of the station site.

Crathorne Hall is a historic building in Crathorne, North Yorkshire, a village in England. The Crathorne family first built a manor house in the village in the 14th century, but by 1808 had reconstructed it as a plan and modern building. In the early 20th century, it was converted into cottages. In 1904, J. L. Dugdale built a new hall, on a different site. The Dugdale family hosted guests including Harold Macmillan, Elizabeth, the Queen Mother and John Cleese, before selling the property in 1977. The building was grade II* listed in 1982. In 2004, it suffered a fire which destroyed much of the east wing, but it was repaired at a cost of £4 million and reopened the following year. The country house in built of stone, with stone slate roofs. The entrance front has two storeys under a balustrade and a recessed third storey, and five bays, flanked by towers with concave pyramidal roofs surmounted by cupolas. In the centre is a rusticated porch with an open segmental pediment. To the left is a projecting four-bay wing leading to a service block around a courtyard, with an arched carriage entrance under a pediment. The south garden front has three storeys and 15 bays, the middle three bays containing four Ionic columns, and a pediment containing an escutcheon. The forecourt walls are in stone and contain gates with square piers with griffin finials.

Picton railway station was a railway station serving the village of Picton in North Yorkshire, England. Located on the Northallerton to Eaglescliffe Line (which is now the North TransPennine line) it was opened on 2 June 1852 by the Leeds Northern Railway. It closed to passengers on 4 January 1960 and closed completely in July 1964.

At the 2011 census, the village had a population of 809.The civil parish had a population of 1,361. The village shares it with Castle Levington and is situated south of Yarm, it hosts the town's station.

Rudby is a village and civil parish, 4 miles (6.4 km) from the market town of Stokesley in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England.

East Rounton is a village and civil parish in the Hambleton District of North Yorkshire, England. It is about 1 mile (1.6 km) west of the A19 and 8 miles (13 km) north-east of Northallerton. It is on the River Wiske and West Rounton is nearby. The population taken at the 2011 Census was less than 100. Details are included in the civil parish of West Rounton. East Rounton was the site of Rounton Grange, a country house designed by the architect Philip Webb in 1872 to 1876 for the industrialist Sir Isaac Lowthian Bell. It was demolished in 1953.

Castlelevington (or Castle Leavington) is a group of hamlets, former township and former civil parish. It is east of the River Leven and 2.5 miles (4 km) south south-east of Yarm.The area is in the borough of Stockton-on-Tees, North Yorkshire, England. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 30. At the 2011 Census, it remained only minimal. The parish originated as a chapelry within the parish of Kirklevington and it became recognised as a separate civil parish in 1866. It was part of the Stokesley Rural District from 1894 to 1974, when it became part of the borough of Stockton.The area forms the eastern half of the present parish. It covers a number of farms: Red Hall, White Hall, Spell Close, Levington House, Woodcroft and The Mill although there is no settlement in the area known as Castle Levington. Red Hall was seat of the Meryton family, whose most famous son was George Meryton (d. 1624), chaplain to Queen Anne and Dean of Peterborough and York. In the far east of the parish is the motte that gives the area its name. The eastern border is the River Leven.

St Lawrence's Church is an Anglican church in East Rounton, a village in North Yorkshire, in England. A church was built in the village, probably in the 15th century; it was a small stone building. In 1885, Lowthian Bell commissioned Robert James Johnson to rebuild the church. He retained only parts of the north wall, including a lancet window and doorway, and perhaps the east end of the building. Two stained glass windows were later designed by Douglas Strachan. The east window is the more conventional. The north window is a memorial to Gertrude Bell and depicts scenes relating to her life: a monk, Magdalen College, the Matterhorn, a woman in Arabic dress, the Al-Kazimiyya Mosque, and a camel train, along with Arabic text taken from a poem by Hafez. The south window is by Morris and Co. The church was grade II listed in 1966. The church is built of sandstone with a red tile roof. It consists of an undivided nave and chancel, and a south porch. At the west end is a coped gable with a stone bellcote and a cross, and at the east end is a three-light window with a hood mould. Inside, there is an exposed timber truss roof, two aedicules in the Baroque style, believed to have been relocated from Newcastle Cathedral, and a gallery at the west end.
