Morgan Park Historic District

Morgan Park is a neighborhood in Baltimore, Maryland, located immediately east of Morgan State University.

Lauraville is a neighborhood in northeast Baltimore, Maryland. The neighborhood is bounded on the east by Harford Road, on the north by Echodale Avenue, on the south by Argonne Drive and Herring Run Park, and on the west side by Morgan Park and Morgan State University, with East Cold Spring Lane passing through the center of Lauraville.

Hughes Stadium, also known as The Den, is a multi-purpose stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. It is primarily used for football and is home of the Morgan State Bears. The stadium opened in 1937 and currently has a capacity of 10,001. Hughes Stadium features two separate seating structures behind both sidelines.

The Edward P. Hurt Gymnasium is a 1,000-seat gymnasium on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. The gymnasium, built just west of Hughes Stadium, was opened in 1950 and named for Edward P. Hurt, the longtime coach of the basketball, football and track teams at Morgan State. The gymnasium was the home of the Morgan State Bears men's basketball team from 1950 to the opening of Talmadge L. Hill Field House. Hurt Gymnasium was the site of the first interracial American basketball game played south of the Mason–Dixon line on February 12, 1952, which ended with a Bears' 65–63 loss to Loyola College in Maryland. Since the opening of Hill Field House, the building still serves as a field house for Hughes, as well as housing offices for the Health & Physical Education departments, intramural athletics and a practice space for visiting teams.

Morgan State University (Morgan State or MSU) is a public historically black research university in Baltimore, Maryland. It is the largest of Maryland's historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). In 1890, the university, then known as the Centenary Biblical Institute, changed its name to Morgan College to honor Reverend Lyttleton Morgan, the first chairman of its board of trustees and a land donor to the college. It became a university in 1975. Morgan State is a member of Thurgood Marshall College Fund. Although a public institution, Morgan State is not part of the University System of Maryland. It is classified among "R2: Doctoral Universities – High research activity".

Talmadge L. Hill Field House is a 4,250-seat multi-purpose arena in Baltimore, Maryland. It was opened in 1974, replacing Hurt Gymnasium, and is named for former Morgan State Bears men's basketball coach Talmadge L. Hill. It is home to the Morgan State University Bears men's basketball and women's basketball teams and women's volleyball team. It hosted the MEAC men's basketball tournament in 1994 and 1995.

Perring-Loch is a small community located in northeast Baltimore, Maryland, United States. Perring Parkway serves as its eastern border and Loch Raven Boulevard as its western border; hence the name Perring-Loch. Woodbourne Avenue and Hartsdale Road are the northern and southern boundaries respectively. The entire community is with the 21239 postal zip code and is served by the Perring Loch community association.

The Morgan State University Memorial Chapel, also known as the Student Center for Morgan State College, Morgan Christian Center, Morgan Interfaith Center, and Susie Carr Love Chapel, is a historic building located on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It is significant for its association with the nationally recognized African American architect who designed it, Albert Irvin Cassell. He is noteworthy for his designs for buildings at several Historically Black Colleges and Universities, including other projects at Morgan State. This was the first student center built on campus, and in addition to worship services, the building housed other social activities. The single-story masonry structure was completed in 1941 in a modern interpretation of the Collegiate Gothic style. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2018.

WEAA (88.9 FM) is a non-profit, National Public Radio affiliate station that serves Baltimore, Maryland. It is licensed and owned by Morgan State University. WEAA is located on campus, with studios at the School of Global Journalism and Communication, and a transmitter on Hillen Road. WEAA was named 1999 Jazz Station of the Year by Gavin Magazine.The station has been noted for its willingness to host intense discussions of issues like racism and sexuality.Although WEAA is based at Morgan State, most of its staff are non-students, and it serves a larger community within Baltimore. However, the station does take on many student interns and volunteers, who learn skills connected to radio broadcasting.

Sydenham Hospital for Communicable Diseases, also known as Montebello State Hospital or Montebello State Chronic Disease Hospital, was a hospital and is a national historic district in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. It was originally constructed in 1922–1924, and the campus consists of seven Italian Renaissance Revival style buildings: the main hospital building, the administration building, the kitchen, the nurses’ home, the laundry with servants’ quarters above, the garage, and the powerhouse. A residence for the Director of Medical Research was added in 1939. The campus was designed by noted Baltimore architect Edward Hughes Glidden.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.The patient records of Sydenham Hospital are held at the National Library of Medicine and showcase nature and treatment of communicable diseases in the pre-antibiotic era.The main hospital building was demolished in 2013 and an empty lot now sits in its place.

Stonewood-Pentwood-Winston is a small community just west of Hillen Road and Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, United States. The community association is aptly named the Stonewood-Pentwood-Winston Community Association and it has applied and received permission to have residential parking permits issued to its members as the result of the proliferation of students from Morgan parking in the neighborhood.

The Columbus Obelisk is one of three monuments to Christopher Columbus in Baltimore, Maryland. Erected on 12 October 1792, the obelisk is the oldest monument to Christopher Columbus in the United States.On the monument the inscription read “Sacred to the Memory of Chris. Columbus / Octob. XII MDCCVIIIC.” until the plaque with this message was destroyed in 2017.
