Tyrrellspass Castle

Tyrrellspass (Irish: Bealach an Tirialaigh, IPA:[ˈbʲaləxˈanˠˈtʲɪɾʲiəliː]) is a Georgian village in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is 81 kilometres (50 mi) from Dublin, in the south of the county on the R446 (formerly the N6) road. Tyrrellspass won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 1969. As of the census in April 2016, the population of Tyrrellspass was 483.

Newtown (Irish: An Baile Nua) is a civil parish in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located about 16.02 kilometres (10 mi) south of Mullingar. Newtown is one of eight civil parishes in the barony of Moycashel in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 10,248.8 acres (41.475 km2). Newtown civil parish comprises three population centres – Ballynagore; Killavally; and Tyrrellspass (barony of Fartullagh) – and 24 townlands: Aghanamanagh aka Commeenlonagh; Aghyrassy; Ardmorney; Ballykilmore; Ballymachugh; Cloncrow; Cloncullen; Clonyhague; Cornaher; Cumminstown, Cumminstown; Garryduff, Garryduff; Higginstown, Higginstown; Kilcloghan; Killavally; Knockmore; Knockycosker; Loughanlewnaght; Newtownlow; Rahinashene and Spittaltown; Rahinashurock; Rahincuill; Rahinmore; Rathgarrett; and Torque. Cloncrow Bog (New Forest) is a peat bog in County Westmeath, Ireland. The bog is near the village of Tyrrellspass on the R446 regional road. As a raised bog of ecological interest, it was declared a Natural Heritage Area in 2005.

Meedin (Irish: Mídín), also Meedian, is a village and townland in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located in the south of the county on the N52 road, to the north of Tyrrellspass and Rochfortbridge and to the south of Mullingar. The village contains a 19th-century church, dating back to 1831, dedicated to the Sacred Heart.

Clonfad (Irish: Cluain Fada) is a civil parish in County Westmeath, Ireland, 12 kilometres (7 mi) south of Mullingar. Clonfad is one of 10 civil parishes in the barony of Fartullagh in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 4,576.7 acres (18.521 km2). Clonfad civil parish comprises 11 townlands: Calverstown, Clonfad, Dalystown, Davidstown/Guilford, Friarstown, Meedin, Newcastle, Rathnure, Templeoran North, Templeoran South and Tyrrellspass. Rahugh (Irish: Ráth Aodha) is a civil parish in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) south–south–west of Mullingar. Rahugh is one of 8 civil parishes in the barony of Moycashel in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 4,987.5 acres (20.184 km2). Rahugh civil parish comprises 12 townlands: Ardan, Atticonor, Cappanrush, Garryduff, Kiltober, Lowertown, Monasset, Montrath, Pallasboy, Rahugh, Rossbeg and Sonnagh. The neighbouring civil parishes are: Newtown to the north, Kilclonfert (County Offaly) to the east, Ballycommon (County Offaly) to the south and Durrow and Kilbeggan to the west. The local GAA team for the residents of Rahugh is Tyrrellspass, a neighbouring village.

Castlelost West is a townland in County Westmeath, Ireland. The townland is located in the civil parish of the same name. The R446 regional road runs through the south of the area. The townland of Castlelost lies to the east and contains the town of Rochfortbridge. The town of Tyrrellspass stands to the west of the townland. The townland is bordered by Castlelost to the east, Clontytallon, and Kilbride to the north, Gneevebane, and Oldtown to the south, and Piercetown to the west.

Killotan and Collinstown is a townland in County Westmeath, Ireland. The townland, which is approximately 1.3 square kilometres (0.5 sq mi) in area, is located on the border with County Offaly and is in the civil parish of Castlelost. The M6 Motorway runs through the middle, near the junction linking up with the R400 regional road. The Monagh River flows through the south of the area. The town of Rochfortbridge is to the east. As of 2011, the townland had a population of 19 people.

Raheenmore Bog is a raised bog north-west of Daingean, County Offaly, in Ireland. Since the 1980s the greater part of the bog has been maintained as a 162 hectare Nature Reserve, which is currently managed by the National Parks and Wildlife Service. A Special Area of Conservation covers 182 ha, including some land in private ownership.

Friarstown is a townland in County Westmeath, Ireland. The townland is located in the civil parish of Clonfad. The southern shores of Lough Ennell borders the townland to the north, and Dalystown is to the east. The River Brosna forms its western border with the townland of Clonsingle.
