Clonfad (Irish: Cluain Fada) is a civil parish in County Westmeath, Ireland, 12 kilometres (7 mi) south of Mullingar. Clonfad is one of 10 civil parishes in the barony of Fartullagh in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 4,576.7 acres (18.521 km2). Clonfad civil parish comprises 11 townlands: Calverstown, Clonfad, Dalystown, Davidstown/Guilford, Friarstown, Meedin, Newcastle, Rathnure, Templeoran North, Templeoran South and Tyrrellspass. Neighbouring civil parishes are: Carrick to the north, Castlelost to the east, Newtown to the south and Castletownkindalen to the west.

Tyrrellspass (Irish: Bealach an Tirialaigh, IPA:[ˈbʲaləxˈanˠˈtʲɪɾʲiəliː]) is a Georgian village in County Westmeath, Ireland. It is 81 kilometres (50 mi) from Dublin, in the south of the county on the R446 (formerly the N6) road. Tyrrellspass won the Irish Tidy Towns Competition in 1969. As of the census in April 2016, the population of Tyrrellspass was 483.

Tyrrellspass Castle is a medieval castle in Tyrrellspass, County Westmeath, Ireland. Dating back to circa 1411, it is the only remaining castle of the Tyrrells who came to Ireland around the time of the Norman Invasion.

Lough Ennell is to the north of the village.

Cloncrow Bog (New Forest) is a peat bog in County Westmeath, Ireland. The bog is near the village of Tyrrellspass on the R446 regional road. As a raised bog of ecological interest, it was declared a Natural Heritage Area in 2005.

Newtown is one of eight civil parishes in the barony of Moycashel in the Province of Leinster. The civil parish covers 10,248.8 acres (41.475 km2). Newtown civil parish comprises three population centres – Ballynagore; Killavally; and Tyrrellspass (barony of Fartullagh) – and 24 townlands: Aghanamanagh aka Commeenlonagh; Aghyrassy; Ardmorney; Ballykilmore; Ballymachugh; Cloncrow; Cloncullen; Clonyhague; Cornaher; Cumminstown, Cumminstown; Garryduff, Garryduff; Higginstown, Higginstown; Kilcloghan; Killavally; Knockmore; Knockycosker; Loughanlewnaght; Newtownlow; Rahinashene and Spittaltown; Rahinashurock; Rahincuill; Rahinmore; Rathgarrett; and Torque. The townlands of Ballykilmore, Rahincuill and Rathgarrett are in the barony of Fartullagh. The neighbouring civil parishes are: Moylisker to the north, Kilbride to the east and Castlelost and Clonfad to the south.The N52 road passes through the parish approximately from south to north.

Castlelost Castle (Irish: Caisleán Loiste, meaning 'castle of the losset') is a ruined motte-and-bailey castle located in the townland of Castlelost, just north of Rochfortbridge in County Westmeath, Ireland. The castle dates to the Norman invasion of Ireland, with some sources dating its construction to the late 12th century and associating it with Hugh Tyrrel (died 1199). The castle remained within the Tyrrel family through the 16th century. During the 17th century, the castle and surrounding lands were lost by the Tyrrels during the Irish Rebellion of 1641 and subsequent Cromwellian conquest of Ireland. The only visible features still on the site are the ruined tower house as well as a small nearby motte. The castle, its motte and the remnants of a nearby bailey (courtyard) are listed on the Record of Monuments and Places for County Westmeath.

The De Profundis Stone is a recumbent stone located in the townland of Kilbride, County Westmeath, Ireland, near the town of Mullingar. The stone was possibly used to mark an ancient graveyard, as was sometimes customary in Ireland. The monument takes its name from a local tradition of stopping a funerary procession at the stone, and reciting the "De Profundis" (a colloquial name for Psalm 130 of the Old Testament). The Kilbride stone is the only known remaining example in Ireland at which this "De Profundis" tradition was performed.The stone is made from limestone, and was shaped into a "coffin-like" shape with a crude cross carved into the top. The stone is approximately 0.94m in length.

Killotan and Collinstown is a townland in County Westmeath, Ireland. The townland, which is approximately 1.3 square kilometres (0.5 sq mi) in area, is located on the border with County Offaly and is in the civil parish of Castlelost. The M6 Motorway runs through the middle, near the junction linking up with the R400 regional road. The Monagh River flows through the south of the area. The town of Rochfortbridge is to the east. As of 2011, the townland had a population of 19 people.
