East Forest (Charlotte Neighborhood)

Charlotte United Christian Academy is a private Christian school in Charlotte, North Carolina. It was founded in 2009 by Resurrection Church and Garr Church.

Garr Auditorium, also previously identified by the names Cannon Cathedral, Wesley Heights Church, or Garr Church, is a Pentecostal church in Charlotte, North Carolina founded by Alfred Goodrich Garr and his wife Lillian. They founded the church in 1930 and officially moved into the building they constructed in 1933, where the church stood for 80 years until 2010. The church was relocated after Hurricane Hugo in 1989, and operated at 7700 Wallace Rd in Charlotte, North Carolina. The building was destroyed in the early 2010s, and has since been replaced by a parking lot for a dealership.

Charlotte Secondary School is a public charter school located in Charlotte, North Carolina. It opened in 2007 as a middle school, and has since grown to include grades 6–12.

East Mecklenburg High School is a public secondary school in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States, and one of 21 high schools in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system. The principal of the school is Richard "Rick" Parker. East Mecklenburg High School is partial magnet school in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. It is part of the International Baccalaureate program. East Mecklenburg students come from many middle school areas such as Albemarle Road, Carmel, Queens Grant, Crestdale, Eastway, J.T. Williams, McClintock, Mint Hill, Randolph, Northeast, and Northridge.

The Stonehaven neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina was established in the 1950s. Sharon Memorial Park is a crematory and cemetery located at 5716 Monroe Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, US. Notable people interred there include baseball players Bob Porterfield and Ben Paschal, and former Daytona 500 winner Buddy Baker. It also goes by the name Sharon Mausoleum.

The Sherwood Forest neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina was established in the 1950s. In addition to the Sherwood Forest subdivision, the area also includes the Castleton Gardens and Charlestowne Manor subdivisions. The area is bisected by McMullen Creek and is bounded by Sardis Road to the south, Rama Road to the southeast, and by the former Seaboard Air Line Railroad, now CSXT to the northeast, Sharon Amity Road to the north, and Randolph Road to the west. Sherwood Forest is also neighbored by the areas known as East Forest, Stonehaven, Landsdowne, Providence Park, and Cotswold. The area's dominant architectural style is the ranch-style house with brick or wood exterior. In keeping with its namesake, some of the area's street names (such as Nottingham Dr. and Robinhood Rd.) are attributed to characters and places in the Robin Hood stories.

Eastland Mall was a shopping mall in Charlotte, North Carolina. The center opened on July 30, 1975, as the then-largest mall in North Carolina with three anchor department stores, Belk, J.C. Penney, and Ivey's. A Sears, Roebuck and Company store joined four years later. The mall was owned by Glimcher Realty Trust and the City of Charlotte. Glimcher requested the mall be put into receivership due to heavy debt, and there were reports of the mall entering foreclosure. LNR sold the interior space in the mall to Boxer Properties of Houston for $2 million. It ceased operations on June 30, 2010, and was purchased by the city of Charlotte from Boxer Properties, and the owners of the vacant anchors in hopes of selling it to a developer. After its takeover, the mall was maintained by the city of Charlotte. By a 10–1 vote on May 28, 2013, the Charlotte city council formally voted to demolish the mall for $871,520, as possible developers stated they had no use for the building. A large percentage of materials were recycled or preserved, including the mall's four entrance signs which will become part of a public art exhibit. Demolition began on October 1, 2013. The Eastland Community Transit Center, a planned stop on the LYNX Rapid Transit Services Center City Corridor, is in the parking lot at the mall.

Temple Israel located in Charlotte, North Carolina is a large, urban Conservative synagogue located in the Shalom Park district of South Charlotte. As one of six synagogues in Charlotte, it serves more than 650 member families. The rabbi since July 2020 is Michael Wolk, who took over from interim Rabbi Howard Seigel. Seigel succeeding the long serving rabbi of 24 years, Murray Ezring. The cantor since 2018 has been soprano Shira T Lissek, previously of Park Avenue Synagogue, New York.

WFNZ-FM (92.7 MHz) is a sports radio station in Charlotte, North Carolina owned and operated by Radio One. The station's studios are located at 1 Julian Price Place just off Morehead Street in Charlotte. The transmitter site is in Charlotte's Newell South neighborhood. WFNZ-FM is the Charlotte affiliate of CBS Sports Radio, carrying network programming on nights and weekends. It airs local sports hosts weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. WFNZ serves as the flagship station for the NBA'S Charlotte Hornets and Major League Soccer's Charlotte FC. Whenever there is a conflict, Charlotte FC matches air on sister stations WBT AM-FM.
