The Overlanders Bridge is a bridge that spans the Thompson River in Kamloops, British Columbia. It connects Fortune Drive and Tranquille Road in the north with Victoria Street in the south. The bridge opened on November 22, 1961, becoming the third bridge to traverse the Thompson River in this location (1901, 1925). The bridge carries approximately 42,000 vehicles daily. The City of Kamloops rehabilitated the bridge in 2015 following reports indicating significant wear on both the bridge deck and the west sidewalk.Overlanders was the winning entry, submitted by Joan Lyons, to a naming contest run by the Kamloops Sentinel newspaper. The name commemorates the pioneers who travelled overland from Fort Garry, Manitoba to Kamloops in 1862. The incorrect name of Overlander is in common use and previously appeared in official documentation before being corrected to Overlanders.

Kamloops Chinese Cemetery is a burial ground for Chinese living in or near Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. It opened in the 1880s.The cemetery was created as the town's cemeteries would not accept Asians for burial.While the cemetery is still open, the Chinatown in Kamloops it served has disappeared; it is the only surviving historic site from that community.Other than the gazebo and newer commemorative plaques, the grave markers are made of wood.

Kamloops ( KAM-loops) is a city in south-central British Columbia, Canada, at the confluence of the North and South Thompson Rivers, which join to become the Thompson River in Kamloops, and east of Kamloops Lake. It is located in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, whose district offices are based here. The surrounding region is sometimes referred to as the Thompson Country. The city was incorporated in 1893 with about 500 residents. The Canadian Pacific Railroad was completed through downtown in 1886, and the Canadian National arrived in 1912, making Kamloops an important transportation hub. With a 2021 population of 97,902, it is the twelfth largest municipality in the province. The Kamloops census agglomeration is ranked 36th among census metropolitan areas and agglomerations in Canada with a 2021 population of 114,142.Kamloops is promoted as the Tournament Capital of Canada. It hosts more than 100 sporting tournaments each year (hockey, baseball, curling, etc) at world-class sports facilities such as the Tournament Capital Centre, Kamloops Bike Ranch, and Tournament Capital Ranch. Logging, beef cattle, vegetable farming, transportation, viticulture, health care, tourism, and education are major contributing industries to the regional economy and have grown in recent years. Thompson Rivers University (~25,000 students) was established as Cariboo College in 1970.

The North Thompson River is the northern branch of the Thompson River, the largest tributary of the Fraser River, in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It originates at the toe of the Thompson Glacier in the Premier Range of the Cariboo Mountains, west of the community of Valemount. The river flows generally south through the Shuswap Highland towards Kamloops where it joins the South Thompson River to form the main stem Thompson River. For most of its length, the river is paralleled by Highway 5, and the Canadian National Railway (both of which cross the river a couple of times). The North Thompson passes by several small communities, the most notable being Blue River, Clearwater, and Barriere. Tributaries of the North Thompson River include Canvas Creek, the Albreda River, Thunder River, Mud Creek, Blue River, Mad River, Raft River, Clearwater River, and Barrière River.The North Thompson's largest tributary is the Clearwater River, which joins at the town of Clearwater. The Clearwater River drains much of Wells Gray Provincial Park. A notable feature along the North Thompson is Little Hells Gate, a mini-replica of the much larger Hells Gate rapids on the Fraser River. About 17.4 kilometres (10.8 mi) upstream from the small town of Avola, the North Thompson River is forced through a narrow chute only about 30 feet (9.1 m) wide, creating a rapid that resembles the Fraser's famous rapid. Many river rafting companies offer a variety of trips through the rapids.

Riverside Park is a park in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada that encompasses a beach next to a river. The park is bordered by the Thompson River and Landsdowne Street. There is a monument in the park that indicates the height to which four different floods reached throughout the history of the park. Riverside Park also included a water park, which was torn down in 2022. There is an 11 PM curfew at the park, but it is not normally enforced. In 1885, the site that would eventually become the park was used as a campsite by Chinese Canadians from Savona's Ferry working on the Canadian Pacific Railway. When members of the On-to-Ottawa Trek stopped in Kamloops on their way from Vancouver to Ottawa, Ontario in 1935, Mayor W.J. Moffat offered the men an empty hospital to sleep in, but the men declined, many choosing rather to sleep in Riverside Park where they had only one blanket to share between three or four men. In 2011, a parking garage was proposed to be built in the park, but a group called the Friends of Riverside Park gathered signatures from more than 10% of the Kamloops electorate opposing the proposal, thereby forcing a referendum on the subject. Before the referendum could take place, however, the city council unanimously voted to put an end to the plans to build the parking garage.

The Tournament Capital Centre is a facility next to Thompson Rivers University's campus. It hosts the Thompson Rivers WolfPack Basketball games. "The Fieldhouse consists of an indoor 6 lane, 200 metre track surrounding three NBA size basketball courts and seating for 2,200." Tournament Capital Centre

2010 World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships is the fourth in a series of World Masters Athletics Indoor Championships (also called World Masters Athletics Championships Indoor, or WMACi). This fourth edition took place in Kamloops, Canada, from 2 to 7 March 2010. This is the first WMACi to be hosted outside of Europe. The main venue was Tournament Capital Centre Fieldhouse, which has a flat indoor track. Supplemental venues included McArthur Island Park for Cross Country and Race Walk, and Kamloops Golf and Country Club for Half Marathon. This Championships was organized by World Masters Athletics (WMA) in coordination with a Local Organising Committee (LOC): Judy Armstrong and Bob Cowan. The WMA is the global governing body of the sport of athletics for athletes 35 years of age or older, setting rules for masters athletics competition. A full range of indoor track and field events were held. In addition to indoor competition, non-stadia events included Half Marathon, 8K Cross Country, 10K Race Walk, Weight Throw, Hammer Throw, Discus Throw and Javelin Throw.

The South Thompson River is the southern branch of the Thompson River, the largest tributary of the Fraser River, in the Canadian province of British Columbia. It originates at the outlet of Little Shuswap Lake at the town of Chase and flows approximately 58 kilometres (36 mi) southwest and west through a wide valley to Kamloops where it joins the North Thompson River to form the main stem Thompson River. Highway 1, the Trans-Canada Highway, and the mainline of the Canadian Pacific Railway parallel the river. Little Shuswap Lake is fed by the Little River, which drains Shuswap Lake, which is fed by several rivers and creeks. Before 1982 the river was considered to start at the outlet of Shuswap Lake rather than Little Shuswap Lake, but the short river between Shuswap Lake and Little Shuswap Lake was officially renamed Little River in keeping with long-established local usage.The South Thompson's main tributaries are Chase Creek, which joins from the south at Chase, Niskonlith Creek, which joins from the north near Niskonlith Lake Provincial Park, Monte Creek, which joins from the south at Monte Creek, and Campbell Creek, which joins from the south.

CFBX-FM 92.5 FM, also known as "The X" , is a campus radio station at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. During the 1980s, CFBX began operations at the university (then called Cariboo College) as a closed-circuit radio station under the name CMMD Radio. CMMD was short for Communications Media, the name of the course that produced and aired the station's content, produced a monthly campus newspaper (the 210 Express) and a weekly in house television news program. At this time CMMD Radio was located in room 210 of the Old Main building and only broadcast to the student lounges and the cafeteria at specific times of the day. This was entirely due to the radio station being run on a volunteer basis by the students enrolled in the Communications Media Program and as a training environment for the course curriculum. Students were given free run of the content and types of music played, as long as it followed the rules and regulations setout by the CRTC. All advertising, station IDs and promos were written and produced by the students, and students were encouraged to go out into the community to gather news and cover community events. Unfortunately by the beginning of the 1990s, the Communications Media Program was dropped and CMMD Radio was off the air. During the early 2000s, CFBX applied to the CRTC for a license for a low-power radio station, which was approved.Following CRTC approval, the station commenced aerial broadcasting on April 2, 2001, at 8:00am. CFBX-FM is a member of the National Campus and Community Radio Association (NCRA).

Hillside Stadium is a multi-purpose, fully lit stadium located next to Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, British Columbia. It is the home of the Thompson Rivers WolfPack, Kamloops Broncos of the Canadian Junior Football League, and the Kamloops Excel of the Pacific Coast Soccer League. It was a FIFA Recommended 1-Star installation when originally completed, but that has since expired. Besides hosting field events, it has a rubberized 400m running track and facilities for other track and field events. The stadium has aluminum bleachers, with a permanent seating capacity of 1,060. Hillside Stadium hosted the track and field events at the 1993 Canada Summer Games. In addition, there are two additional soccer fields and track and field facilities. As well as the new fieldhouse which includes a 200m indoor track, gymnastics space, multi-function gym, and classrooms. The complex also includes the Canada Games Aquatic Centre.

The Kamloops Museum and Archives is a museum and archives located in the city of Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. Located at 207 Seymour Street in downtown Kamloops, at the corner of 2nd Avenue. In addition to historical exhibits and educational programmes, the facility also is home to the city's archives, including a special collection, the Mary Balf Archives, focused around the works of Mary Balf, a prolific local historian, but including a wide array of documents from the early fur trade journals onwards.

Sacred Heart Cathedral is a Romanesque-style church that serves as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kamloops. It is located in the downtown area of Kamloops at the intersection of Nicola Street and 3rd Avenue. The construction of the cathedral began in 1921, a few blocks from the site of an earlier church by the same name that had burned down two years earlier. It opened in December 1925 and is now listed on the city's Heritage Walking Tour by the City of Kamloops Museum and Archives.
