The Weißensee Cemetery is a Jewish cemetery located in the neighborhood of Weißensee in Berlin, Germany. It is the second largest Jewish cemetery in Europe. The cemetery covers approximately 42 ha (100 acres) and contains approximately 115,000 graves. It was dedicated in 1880.

The Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss-Brauerei GmbH is a brewing company located in Berlin, Germany that produces the brands Berliner Pilsner, Berliner Kindl, Schultheiss, and Berliner Bürgerbräu. Until 2004, the company was part of the larger brewing company Brau & Brunnen, which was then purchased by Dr. August Oetker KG and integrated into the Radeberger Gruppe. The firm traces its origins back to the founding of Schultheiss Brewery in Berlin in 1842. In 2017, the brewery produced 1.5 million hectolitres (1.3 million US beer barrels) of beer.

The Velodrom (velodrome) is an indoor track cycling arena, in the Prenzlauer Berg locality of Berlin, Germany. Holding up to 12,000 people, it was also Berlin's largest concert venue, until the opening of O2 World in 2008. It is part of a larger complex, which includes a swimming pool as well, built in the course of the unsuccessful Berlin application for the 2000 Summer Olympics. This project is related to the German reunification and the wish of a city, Berlin, about to become the capital, to be nominated for the Olympic Games. It replaced the former Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle, which was demolished in 1993. It mainly hosts indoor sporting events, trade shows and concerts.

Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle was an indoor sporting arena located in the Prenzlauer Berg district of Berlin, Germany. It was named after the executed Berlin resistance fighter Werner Seelenbinder, a German wrestling champion at several European championships and 1936 Summer Olympics athlete. The arena opened in 1950 in what was then East Berlin, in a converted hall that had been part of the central cattle market and slaughterhouse complex. It then hosted the first national meeting of the Free German Youth. One of the major sports venues in Berlin in the 20th century, the capacity of the arena was up to 10,000 people. Until the opening of the Palast der Republik in 1976, East German mass organizations like the Socialist Unity Party of Germany (SED) regularly used the Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle as a convention hall. From 1970 to 1990 it was also the site of the annual Festival of Political Songs. On 7 March 1988 Depeche Mode made their East German debut here, followed by The Wedding Present and Jonathan Richman but also by Feeling B and Rio Reiser in the same year. Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle was closed and demolished in 1993. It was replaced by the present-day Velodrom.

Weißensee (German: [ˈvaɪ̯sn̩ˌzeː] (listen)) is a quarter in the borough of Pankow in Berlin, Germany, that takes its name from the small lake Weißer See (literally "White Lake") within it. Before Berlin's 2001 administrative reform, Weißensee was a borough in its own right, consisting of the quarters of Weißensee, Heinersdorf, Blankenburg, Karow and Stadtrandsiedlung Malchow. A fictional German-language TV series by the same name is set in the borough between 1980 and 1990 during the communist era.

Berliner Fussball Club Dynamo e. V., commonly abbreviated to BFC Dynamo (German pronunciation: [beːʔɛfˌt͡seː dyˈnaːmo] (listen)) or BFC (German pronunciation: [beːʔɛfˈt͡seː] (listen)), alternatively sometimes called Dynamo Berlin, is a German football club based in the locality of Alt-Hohenschönhausen of the borough of Lichtenberg of Berlin. BFC Dynamo was founded in 1966 from the football department of SC Dynamo Berlin and became one of the most successful clubs in East German football. The club is the record champion of East Germany with ten consecutive league championships from 1979 through 1988. BFC Dynamo competes in the fourth tier Regionalliga Nordost. The club enjoys a cross-city rivalry with 1. FC Union Berlin and a historical rivalry with SG Dynamo Dresden. The rivalry with Union Berlin is part of the Berlin derby.

Fennpfuhl (German: [ˈfɛnˌp͡fuːl] (listen)) is a German locality (Ortsteil) in the borough (Bezirk) of Lichtenberg, Berlin. With a population of 30,932 (2008) in an area of 2.12 km2 (0.82 sq mi), it is the second most densely populated locality in Berlin (14,591/km²) after Friedenau.

Weißer See (German pronunciation: [ˈvaɪ̯sɐ ˈzeː], literally "White Lake") is a lake in the Weissensee district of Berlin, Germany. Its surface area is 8.3011ha (84,000m2) and volume 360,606m3. With a depth of 10.64m (average depth 4.34m) it is one of the deepest areas of water in Berlin. Its dimensions are approx. 300m East-West by 350m North-South. The lake and its surrounding landscape were shaped by the Weichsel ice age. It is embedded in the ground moraines of Niederbarnimer. During the melting of the ice a huge block of ice remained; when it subsequently thawed it created what is known as a kettle hole. This was the origin of today's Weisser See. Over the centuries settlements developed around the lake, mainly based on agriculture; the oldest known settlement dates from the 13th century. During the past 150 years, through development of the near shore, the water balance and catchment area have been increasingly disturbed. As a reminder of the cultural heritage of the Sterneckerschen establishment (Weissensee Castle), there still exists the Strandbad Weissensee (Weissensee bathing beach), dating from 1912. In addition to its role as a bathing and recreation area, the Weisser See also functions as an overflow lake for the Weissensee storm sewers. The water level in the lake is regulated by the Berlin water company and measured at the bathing place. During times of low rainfall water from nearby sources can be pumped into the lake underneath the observation deck. Since the expense of the pumping is met by the surrounding district of Pankow, this additional water supply is limited by financial considerations. Notable in the Weisser See is a centre fountain of considerable height, which with the help of the Young Pioneers Diving Club is put into operation each year. The Weissensee Park surrounds the lake. On the banks of the lake there is a boat rental station and the historic Milchhäuschen (small milk house), a café that was well known in GDR days.

Wellblechpalast is the official name of the ice hockey arena in the Sportforum Hohenschönhausen in the locality of Alt-Hohenschönhausen of the borought of Lichtenberg of Berlin, Germany. The arena was built in 1963 and was the home stadium of the ice hockey team of SC Dynamo Berlin and then Eisbären Berlin until the 2007–08 season. The facility still serves as training unit for the Eisbären Berlin; it also hosts games of the Eisbären Juniors team, and occasionally games of several other Berlin-based amateur teams. The structure's roof is made up of corrugated iron sheets ("Wellblech" in German). The nickname Wellblechpalast (corrugated roof palace), coined by a journalist during the early 1990s, originally had a pejorative connotation that characterised both the destitute nature of the building and the Eisbären Berlin ice hockey team, which at the time regularly finished at the bottom of the standings. However, the name stuck and assumed a cult status among the club's fans. The arena accommodates 4,695 people; the seating capacity is 1,600, with 3,095 standing on the terraces. On 6 October 2001, it was officially renamed to Wellblechpalast.

Bersarinplatz is a square in Friedrichshain, Berlin. On 4 April 1895 the square was named Baltenplatz, after the Balts. However, on 31 July 1947, after World War II, the square was renamed Bersarinplatz after Nikolai Berzarin, the Russian Red Army General and former Commander of Berlin.
