Lichtenberg (German: [ˈlɪçtn̩ˌbɛʁk] (listen)) is a quarter (Ortsteil) of Berlin in the homonymous borough (Bezirk) of Lichtenberg. Until 2001 it was an autonomous district with the localities of Fennpfuhl, Rummelsburg, Friedrichsfelde and Karlshorst.

Karlshorst (, German: [ˈkaʁlsˌhɔst] (listen); locally pronounced [ka:ltshɔst]; literally meaning Karl's nest) is a locality in the borough of Lichtenberg in Berlin. Located there are a harness racing track and the Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft Berlin (HTW), the largest University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, and the German-Russian Museum Berlin-Karlshorst.

Storkower Straße is a railway station in the Prenzlauer Berg locality of Berlin, close to the locality's border with Fennpfuhl. Located at the Ringbahn it is served by the S-Bahn lines , , and .

Berliner Fussball Club Dynamo e. V., commonly abbreviated to BFC Dynamo (German pronunciation: [beːʔɛfˌt͡seː dyˈnaːmo] (listen)) or BFC (German pronunciation: [beːʔɛfˈt͡seː] (listen)), alternatively sometimes called Dynamo Berlin, is a German football club based in the locality of Alt-Hohenschönhausen of the borough of Lichtenberg of Berlin. BFC Dynamo was founded in 1966 from the football department of SC Dynamo Berlin and became one of the most successful clubs in East German football. The club is the record champion of East Germany with ten consecutive league championships from 1979 through 1988. BFC Dynamo competes in the fourth tier Regionalliga Nordost. The club enjoys a cross-city rivalry with 1. FC Union Berlin and a historical rivalry with SG Dynamo Dresden. The rivalry with Union Berlin is part of the Berlin derby.

Wellblechpalast is the official name of the ice hockey arena in the Sportforum Hohenschönhausen in the locality of Alt-Hohenschönhausen of the borought of Lichtenberg of Berlin, Germany. The arena was built in 1963 and was the home stadium of the ice hockey team of SC Dynamo Berlin and then Eisbären Berlin until the 2007–08 season. The facility still serves as training unit for the Eisbären Berlin; it also hosts games of the Eisbären Juniors team, and occasionally games of several other Berlin-based amateur teams. The structure's roof is made up of corrugated iron sheets ("Wellblech" in German). The nickname Wellblechpalast (corrugated roof palace), coined by a journalist during the early 1990s, originally had a pejorative connotation that characterised both the destitute nature of the building and the Eisbären Berlin ice hockey team, which at the time regularly finished at the bottom of the standings. However, the name stuck and assumed a cult status among the club's fans. The arena accommodates 4,695 people; the seating capacity is 1,600, with 3,095 standing on the terraces. On 6 October 2001, it was officially renamed to Wellblechpalast.

The Berliner-Kindl-Schultheiss-Brauerei GmbH is a brewing company located in Berlin, Germany that produces the brands Berliner Pilsner, Berliner Kindl, Schultheiss, and Berliner Bürgerbräu. Until 2004, the company was part of the larger brewing company Brau & Brunnen, which was then purchased by Dr. August Oetker KG and integrated into the Radeberger Gruppe. The firm traces its origins back to the founding of Schultheiss Brewery in Berlin in 1842. In 2017, the brewery produced 1.5 million hectolitres (1.3 million US beer barrels) of beer.

Volkspark Prenzlauer Berg is a public park in the Prenzlauer Berg quarter of the Pankow borough in Berlin, Germany. Laid out over a landscaped rubble hill (Schuttberg) historically called the Oderbruchkippe (Oderbruch landfill), it covers roughly 29 hectares and consists of planted slopes and plateaus with footpaths, lawns and viewpoints. The area was regraded and planted in the 1960s after serving as a deposition site for post-war building debris cleared from inner-city districts such as Alexanderplatz; the park was inaugurated under its present name in 1969.

Sportforum Hohenschönhausen is a multi-purpose sports complex in the locality of Alt-Hohenschönhausen of the borough of Lichtenberg in Berlin. The Sportforum was named Dynamo-Sportforum during the East German era. Sportforum Hohenschönhausen covers an area between 45 and 50 hectares, and comprises 35 sports facilities, including three ice rinks, two athletics halls, a football stadium, as well as eight other halls and open spaces for various sports. Development of the Dynamo-Sportforum began in 1954. The original building ensemble, including the Dynamo-Sporthalle, which was built in individual sections from 1955, based on designs by an architectural collective led by Walter Schmidt, is a protected building of cultural heritage. Expansion of the Sportforum continued into the 1980s. The complex is the second largest sports complex in Berlin after the Olympiapark.The Dynamo-Sportforum was the training center where the top athletes and future Olympic medalists trained during the East German era. It was the headquarter of sports association SV Dynamo and home to sports club SC Dynamo Berlin. The Olympic Training Center Berlin (OSP Berlin) is now the main user of the facilities. Around 20 sports clubs are also based in the Sportforum and more than 3,000 athletes use the facilities every day.

Rigaer Straße is a street in Friedrichshain, Berlin that runs from Bersarinplatz in the west to the railway station Frankfurter Allee in the east. The street is named after the Latvian capital Riga. Many of the houses on the street are protected as historic buildings, although some of the older houses have turned into squats. Famous residents of Rigaer Straße include German author Theodor Plievier, who, around 1924, lived at number 68.

The Frankfurter Allee is one of the oldest roads of Berlin, the capital city of Germany. It extends the Karl-Marx-Allee from Frankfurter Tor in the direction of the city of Frankfurt (Oder). It is part of Bundesstraße 1 and has a length of 3.6 kilometres (2.2 mi). Line of the city's U-Bahn runs beneath the length of Frankfurter Allee. The U-Bahn stations of Frankfurter Tor, Samariterstraße, Frankfurter Allee, Magdalenenstraße and Lichtenberg are all under or adjacent to the street. Frankfurter Allee and Lichtenberg stations are also served by the city's S-Bahn.

Samariterstraße is a Berlin U-Bahn station located on the . It is located underneath Frankfurter Allee, at the intersection with Samariterstraße in the district of Friedrichshain. It was opened as part of the then-extant Line E of the Berlin U-Bahn on 21 December 1930. As the station remains almost in its original condition, it is now protected as a historic building.

Steinbeis-Hochschule Berlin (SHB) (or Steinbeis University) is a private German university of applied sciences founded in 1998. The university is based in Berlin and has supplementary campuses in Baden-Württemberg. The university mainly offers extra-occupational study courses in economics. It offers Bachelor's, Master's, and doctorate programs. The university is wholly owned by the Steinbeis Foundation.
