Kollel Gur Aryeh (Hebrew: כולל גור אריה) is a kollel for young married Orthodox men located in Brooklyn, New York. It was established in 1956 by Rabbi Yitzchok Hutner as the post-graduate division of the Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin. A number of Haredi scholars and rosh yeshivas are among its alumni. The kollel is named in honor of Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel, also known as the Maharal. His work on the Pentateuch is entitled Gur Aryeh.

Midwood is a neighborhood in the south-central part of the New York City borough of Brooklyn. JC Studios was a film and television studio located at 1268 East 14th Street in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, New York. The land on which the studio buildings were situated can trace its motion picture history back to around 1903, when it served as a studio and backlot for Vitagraph and Florence Turner, its first Vitagraph girl. Vitagraph's main Brooklyn facility was located across East 14th Street on property occupied by the Shulamith School for Girls until 2010. In 2017 the site became an eight-story, 300-unit apartment building. Warner Bros built the main studio, bordering on Locust Avenue, in 1936 for use as a short-subject production facility. NBC bought the site in 1951 from Warner Brothers and converted the studio into a state-of-the-art color broadcasting facility. Betty Hutton was the star of the first NBC show from what was dubbed Brooklyn Studio I, Satins and Spurs on 12 September 1954. Notable television shows originating at JC Studios while under NBC ownership include Peter Pan with Mary Martin, the Kraft Music Hall, Sing Along with Mitch starring Mitch Miller, A Night to Remember, Hullabaloo, The Sammy Davis Jr. Show, Tic Tac Dough and three 1976 episodes of Saturday Night Live. In 1956, NBC produced its famous “The Esther Williams Aqua Spectacle” here. The swimming pool constructed for the show was hidden under the floor of Studio I. JC Studios played host to a number of popular and long-lasting television shows, The Cosby Show, Another World, and As the World Turns which was canceled by CBS in December 2009. The final episode was taped on 23 June 2010 and aired on 17 September 2010.In 2014 JC Studios closed. Today OHEL Children's Home and Family Services is in the former Brooklyn Studio I. In 2019 Brooklyn Studio II, opened by NBC on November 29, 1956 was converted to a self-storage facility.

Shulamith School for Girls is a Centrist Orthodox Jewish school. It was the first Orthodox Jewish elementary school for girls in North America. The name Shulamith (Hebrew: שולמית) is a feminine form of the Hebrew name Solomon, which loosely translates to "peace". As of July 2010, the organization was divided into two separate institutions which operate independent schools in Brooklyn and Long Island.

Yeshivat Shaare Torah (more popularly known as Shaare Torah or just Shaare) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that operates five Sephardic private Jewish day school programs located in Brooklyn, New York, United States. It includes single-gender elementary schools and high schools for boys and girls. The boys' high school has 309 students and the girls' high school has 120 students. The organization also operates a preschool program for 60 children.

Edward R. Murrow High School is located in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, New York City, New York and is part of the New York City Department of Education. The school is known for its theater program. Its success in the arts was recognized by Mel Brooks, who granted the school to be the first-ever to gain rights to the musical The Producers in spring 2008. It is a school of the arts where students are either music, dance, communication arts, theater, or art majors. The school was created under the supervision and leadership of Saul Bruckner, who was also the first principal of the school. Murrow H.S. opened in 1974 with Saul Bruckner as principal. The school was named for the pioneering broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow. Murrow H.S. was founded according to the pedagogical theories of John Dewey and the learning and teaching methods of John Dewey High School. Bruckner retired in 2004 and died on May 1, 2010, in Brooklyn, New York. Anthony Lodico became Murrow's second principal. In March 2012, Lodico announced his resignation from Murrow in order to accept a High School Superintendent position. On April 2, 2012, Allen Barge assumed the role of principal of the school.

Di Fara Pizza is a pizzeria located at 1424 Avenue J in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, New York City. Situated between East 14th and East 15th Streets, the restaurant has been owned and operated by Domenico DeMarco (1936–2022) since 1965.Food critics and bloggers have regularly cited it as one of the best pizzerias in New York City. Di Fara has been labeled the "Best pizza in New York" several times by many publications, including New York and the online publication Serious Eats. The New York Times called the restaurant "one of the most acclaimed and sought-after pizza shops in New York City". In 2011, Zagat gave the restaurant the top pizza restaurant food rating in New York City, and in 2013, Frommer's called its pizza "the Best Hand-Made Pizza in New York City". Chef Anthony Bourdain also praised the restaurant's pizza.

The Avenue M station (formerly South Greenfield, Elm Avenue), is a local station on the BMT Brighton Line of the New York City Subway. It is located in Midwood, Brooklyn, at Avenue M between East 15th and East 16th Streets. The station is served by the Q train at all times.

The Yeshivah of Flatbush is a Modern Orthodox private Jewish day school located in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, New York. It educates students from age 2 to age 18 and includes an early childhood center, an elementary school and a secondary school.

Young Israel of Flatbush is a historic synagogue at 1012 Avenue I in Midwood, Brooklyn, New York, New York. It was built between 1925 and 1929 and is a three-story Moorish-inspired style building faced in polychromatic patterned brick. It features horseshoe arches, minarets, and polychromatic tiles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin or Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin (Hebrew: יְשִׁיבַת רַבֵּינוּ חַיִּים בֶּרלִין) is an American Haredi Lithuanian-type boys' and men's yeshiva in Brooklyn, New York. Chaim Berlin consists of a preschool, a yeshiva ketana (elementary school), a mesivta (high school), a college-level beth midrash, and Kollel Gur Aryeh, its post-graduate kollel division.
