Di Fara Pizza is a pizzeria located at 1424 Avenue J in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, New York City. Situated between East 14th and East 15th Streets, the restaurant has been owned and operated by Domenico DeMarco (1936–2022) since 1965.Food critics and bloggers have regularly cited it as one of the best pizzerias in New York City. Di Fara has been labeled the "Best pizza in New York" several times by many publications, including New York and the online publication Serious Eats. The New York Times called the restaurant "one of the most acclaimed and sought-after pizza shops in New York City". In 2011, Zagat gave the restaurant the top pizza restaurant food rating in New York City, and in 2013, Frommer's called its pizza "the Best Hand-Made Pizza in New York City". Chef Anthony Bourdain also praised the restaurant's pizza.

Yeshiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin or Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin (Hebrew: יְשִׁיבַת רַבֵּינוּ חַיִּים בֶּרלִין) is an American Haredi Lithuanian-type boys' and men's yeshiva in Brooklyn, New York. Chaim Berlin consists of a preschool, a yeshiva ketana (elementary school), a mesivta (high school), a college-level beth midrash, and Kollel Gur Aryeh, its post-graduate kollel division.

Fiske Terrace is a planned community and neighborhood in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. Fiske Terrace is located in south central Brooklyn in the southern edge of the community of Flatbush and north of the community of Midwood. It is bounded by Glenwood Road on the north, Ocean Avenue on the east, the Bay Ridge Branch of the Long Island Rail Road/New York and Atlantic Railway right-of-way on the south, and the New York City Subway BMT Brighton Line subway line (B and ​Q trains) on the west.

The Avenue H station is a local station on the BMT Brighton Line of the New York City Subway. It is located at Avenue H between East 15th and East 16th Streets on the border of Midwood and Flatbush, Brooklyn. The station is served by the Q train at all times.The Avenue H station was opened on or around April 26, 1897 as Fiske Terrace, a two-track surface station serving the new planned community of Fiske Terrace in Midwood, Brooklyn. It served the Kings County Elevated Railway and then the Brooklyn Rapid Transit Company (BRT). The station house serving the northbound platform, built in 1906 as a sales office, was converted to a passenger facility shortly afterward when the station was substantially rebuilt in 1907. The Avenue H station became part of the Brooklyn–Manhattan Transit Corporation (BMT) system in 1922 and the New York City Transit system in 1940. It was renovated in the first decade of the 21st century. The Avenue H station contains two side platforms and four tracks; express trains use the inner two tracks to bypass the station. The platforms sit on an embankment slightly above ground level and cross the Bay Ridge Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. There is a station house adjacent to each platform. The station house serving the northbound platform is a New York City designated landmark. The southbound platform's station house contains a ramp from the street, which make that platform compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Another ramp for the northbound platform was completed in June 2021.

Young Israel of Flatbush is a historic synagogue at 1012 Avenue I in Midwood, Brooklyn, New York, New York. It was built between 1925 and 1929 and is a three-story Moorish-inspired style building faced in polychromatic patterned brick. It features horseshoe arches, minarets, and polychromatic tiles.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.

Edward R. Murrow High School is located in the Midwood section of Brooklyn, New York City, New York and is part of the New York City Department of Education. The school is known for its theater program. Its success in the arts was recognized by Mel Brooks, who granted the school to be the first-ever to gain rights to the musical The Producers in spring 2008. It is a school of the arts where students are either music, dance, communication arts, theater, or art majors. The school was created under the supervision and leadership of Saul Bruckner, who was also the first principal of the school. Murrow H.S. opened in 1974 with Saul Bruckner as principal. The school was named for the pioneering broadcast journalist Edward R. Murrow. Murrow H.S. was founded according to the pedagogical theories of John Dewey and the learning and teaching methods of John Dewey High School. Bruckner retired in 2004 and died on May 1, 2010, in Brooklyn, New York. Anthony Lodico became Murrow's second principal. In March 2012, Lodico announced his resignation from Murrow in order to accept a High School Superintendent position. On April 2, 2012, Allen Barge assumed the role of principal of the school.

West Midwood is a planned community and historic enclave in the New York City borough of Brooklyn. West Midwood is located in central Brooklyn in the southern edge of the community of Victorian Flatbush, abutting the northern boundary of the community of Midwood. It is bordered by Foster Avenue to the north, the BMT Brighton subway line (B and ​Q trains) to the east, Avenue H to the south, and Coney Island Avenue to the west. West Midwood is located south of Prospect Park within what is sometimes referred to as Ditmas Park.West Midwood, along with other neighborhoods within Ditmas Park, is policed by the 70th Precinct of the New York City Police Department. West Midwood is part of Brooklyn Community District 14.

East Midwood Jewish Center is a Conservative synagogue located at 1625 Ocean Avenue, Midwood, Brooklyn, New York City. Organized in 1924, the congregation's Renaissance revival building (completed in 1929) typified the large multi-purpose synagogue centers being built at the time, and was from the 1990s until 2010 the only synagogue with a working swimming pool in Brooklyn. The building has been unmodified architecturally since its construction, and in 2006 was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).Membership dropped during the Great Depression, and the synagogue suffered financial hardship, but it recovered, and by 1941 had 1,100 member families. In 1950 the congregation built an adjoining school; at its peak its enrollment was almost 1,000. As neighborhood demographics changed in the late 20th century, and Brooklyn's Jewish population became more Orthodox, the East Midwood Jewish Center absorbed three other Conservative Brooklyn congregations.The East Midwood Jewish Center had only three rabbis from its founding until 2014. Reuben Kaufman served from 1924 to 1929, Harry Halpern from 1929 to 1977 and Alvin Kass from 1976 to 2014. In 2014, Matt Carl became the rabbi.

Shulamith School for Girls is a Centrist Orthodox Jewish school. It was the first Orthodox Jewish elementary school for girls in North America. The name Shulamith (Hebrew: שולמית) is a feminine form of the Hebrew name Solomon, which loosely translates to "peace". As of July 2010, the organization was divided into two separate institutions which operate independent schools in Brooklyn and Long Island.
