Legendia (a.k.a. Silesian Amusement Park, Polish: Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko) is a permanent amusement park located within Silesian Park in the center of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union, Silesia, Poland. It has an area of 26 ha. In 2008, the park saw 253,000 visitors. It is one of the largest permanent amusement parks in Poland. In 2015, the Slovakian company Tatry Mountain Resorts acquired Silesian Amusement Park. They renamed the park "Legendia" and modified many of its existing attractions. The park is now themed to "Legends". On July 1, 2017, "Lech Coaster" opened as the largest roller coaster in Central-Eastern Europe.

Lech Coaster is a steel roller coaster located at Legendia in Chorzów, Poland. It was the first Bermuda Blitz coaster by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma and opened on July 1, 2017. The ride stands 40 metres (130 ft) tall, has a maximum speed of 95 kilometres per hour (59 mph), and has a track length of 908 metres (2,979 ft). The ride also features three inversions.

Załęże (German: Zalenze) is a district of Katowice, located in the north-western part of the city, in the central part of the Upper Silesian conurbation, on the Rawa river. It runs along Gliwicka street characteristic tortuous course of the city center to the border of Chorzów. It is one of the oldest districts of Katowice, which dates back to the thirteenth century. By the end of the eighteenth century the community was an agricultural character, when it began to develop coal mining, iron and zinc industry, which enabled rapid population growth. In 1924 Załęże became a district of Katowice. After the collapse of the major industrial plants in the early twenty-first century Załęże became the center of a residential and service. At the end of 2007, the district had 11 569 inhabitants. Development depends to a large extent are townhouses and familoks from the turn of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, as well as residential buildings and services created after World War II. The most valuable objects in Załęże are neo-Gothic Saint Joseph's Church and the Palace in Załęże, the remains of a former farm. Załęże is very well connected by the A4 motorway and Drogowa Trasa Średnicowa runs through Załęże, as well as the international E 30 railway line and tram line .

Siemianowice Śląskie also known as Siemianowice (Polish pronunciation: [ɕɛmjanɔˈvit͡sɛ ˈɕlɔ̃skʲɛ]; German: Siemianowitz-Laurahütte; Silesian: Siymianowice) is a city in Upper Silesia in southern Poland, near Katowice, in its central district in the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union - a metropolis with a population of 2 million people and is located in the Silesian Highlands, on the Brynica river (tributary of the Vistula). It is situated in the Silesian Voivodeship since its formation in 1999, previously in Katowice Voivodeship, and before then in the Autonomous Silesian Voivodeship. Siemianowice is one of the cities of the 2.7 million conurbation, the Katowice urban area, at the heart of the greater Silesian metropolitan area populated by about 5,294,000 people. The population of the city is 65,684 (2021). Siemianowice Śląskie borders four cities: Piekary Śląskie, Chorzów, Czeladź and the voivodeship capital Katowice.

Dąb (German: Domb) is a district of Katowice. It has an area of 1.86 km2 and in 2007 had 7,694 inhabitants.

Katowice Załęże is a railway station in Katowice, located in the Załęże district in southern Poland. The stop, situated on the international E 30 railway line, was built in 1957, with scheduled train services beginning in 1966. Regional trains operated by Koleje Śląskie, traveling towards Częstochowa, Katowice, Lubliniec, and Gliwice, stop at this station.

Baildon Steelworks (Polish: Huta Baildon) was a major steelworks in Katowice, Poland. It was located in Katowice districts of Załęże and Dąb. Founded in 1823 (then in Prussian Silesia), it was a major local employer and a landmark until its liquidation in 2001. It was named after Scottish engineer John Baildon. It sponsored a major sports club, KS Baildon Katowice.

Silesian Zoological Garden (Polish: Śląski Ogród Zoologiczny) is a zoological garden in Poland. It was founded in 1954 and is situated in the Katowice and Chorzów districts of Silesia. It covers over 47.6 ha within the Silesian Central Park. The Silesian zoo is a home for about 2,500 animals of 300 species. It is visited by over 390,000 people annually. A mini-zoo is the collection of gentler animals which are (directly) accessible to children. The dinosaur valley contains a full-scale reconstruction of 16 large dinosaurs, the remains of which were found by a Polish expedition to the Gobi desert.

Stadion GKS Katowice is a football stadium at Silesian Culture and Recreation Park in Chorzów (just at the border with Katowice), Poland. It is the home ground of GKS Katowice. The stadium also hosted three matches of Poland national football team. Venue holds 6,710 people and was built in 1955. There is a planned full reconstruction of a stadium that will take place in near future.

Silesia City Center is a shopping mall in Katowice, Silesia, Poland. It was opened in 2005 as the first modern shopping mall in Katowice. In 2015 it has been described as the "largest shopping mall in the Silesia region".Its total area covers a few thousand square metres, of which 650 000 sq metres is a trade zone, 100 000 sq metres is a housing estate and 600 000 sq metres is an office site. It is situated in Katowice along 107 Chorzowska Road (the land previously belonged to the coal mine KWK Gottwald). The edifice was opened 18 November 2005. An investor is Hungarian company - TriGranit Development Corporation.

Silesian Park (Polish: Park Śląski) is a recreation complex in the center of the Upper-Silesian Metropolis in Chorzów in Upper Silesia, Poland. Silesian Park is managed by WPKiW S.A. The area of the park is 620 hectares, twice as large as the Central Park in New York. Until 2012, the park was known under its formal name of "General Jerzy Ziętek Voivodeship Park of Culture and Recreation" (Wojewódzki Park Kultury i Wypoczynku im. gen. Jerzego Ziętka, abbreviated WPKiW), named after Jerzy Ziętek, a Silesian politician who headed the 1950s initiative to create this park. It restored an industrially devastated piece of land in the middle of a highly urbanized area. As a result of the exchange of land during the construction of the Millennium district in Katowice in 1990s, the Silesian Park is entirely located within the administrative boundaries of Chorzów. However, it does not belong to any of its districts which emphasizes its regional character.

The Silesian Planetarium also Silesian Planetarium and Astronomical Observatory (Polish: Planetarium Śląskie Polish: Śląskie Planetarium i Obserwatorium Astronomiczne) is the largest and oldest planetarium in Poland. It was founded on 4 December 1955 to commemorate the great astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus. It is located in the Silesian Central Park, on the boundary between the Katowice and Chorzów districts of the Upper Silesian Metropolitan Union.
