North Library (Islington)

The Royal Northern Hospital was a general hospital on Holloway Road, London N7, near Tollington Way. It had inpatient, outpatient, accident and emergency facilities and was also a centre for postgraduate education.

Nambucca is a live music venue in Holloway Road in London. Since being rebuilt following a fire it now houses two distinct areas in a big open plan venue - a front bar area and a rear dancefloor and gig area. It is popular with up-and-coming bands and hosts music and entertainment events on a nightly basis. In the mid-part of the 2000s Nambucca provided a platform for many of the forerunners of the London nu-folk scene, with artists such as Frank Turner, Marcus Mumford, Beans on Toast and Laura Marling performing there regularly. It also was a staple of the burgeoning indie-scene led by The Libertines and many successful bands performed early gigs there including The Holloways who were actually formed at the venue and played their first gig there. On December 17, 2008 a fire at the venue caused major destruction and it was almost two years before it reopened.On October 31, 2014, after another closure, an extensive refurbishment and a change of ownership, the bar reopened once again. Many long-running and successful events have now found a new home at the venue in its latest incarnation. Nambucca is now a 300-capacity music venue, with the re-positioning of the stage to the back of the room as opposed to its former position at the left-hand side of the venue, allowing a clear view for all gig-goers. The venue has a 30-channel Soundtrack Si-Compact mixing desk and PA system. Since its reopening in 2014 it has hosted gigs by artists such as Wolf Alice, The Wombats, Fat White Family, John Power (Cast, The La's) The Rifles (band), The Enemy (UK rock band) and many more and currently houses the popular This Feeling and Some Weird Sin clubnights.

The Odeon Cinema, originally the Gaumont, is a multiplex cinema in Holloway, London, England. It was built in 1938, and designed by the American architect C. Howard Crane. It is a Grade II listed building: the listing text states that "its external impact is still greater than almost any other cinema, an example of trans-Atlantic bravura."

The Islington Workhouse was constructed by the West London Union in 1864-5 in Upper Holloway.

Nag's Head Market is a market in London. It is situated on Seven Sisters Road in the Holloway area of the London Borough of Islington. It is named after the Nag's Head public house, which closed in 2004; the original early Victorian building is in use today as a gambling establishment. As part of Nag's Head Town Centre, a shopping arcade between Morrisons, Marks & Spencers and Selby's, it is governed by the Nag's Head Town Centre Management Group, made up of local businesses and services.

City and Islington College (CANDI) is a further education college in the London Borough of Islington, England, established in 1993. The college has four major centres throughout the borough, including a dedicated sixth form centre. It is part of Capital City College Group, alongside Westminster Kingsway College and The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, which altogether have 25,000 students in 2020.

Alexander Sloley (born 4 August 1991) was a British boy who disappeared without a trace on 2 August 2008 in Edmonton, north London, England, when he was 16. No evidence of his fate has been found, and his current whereabouts remain unknown.

Tollington Ward is one of sixteen electoral divisions of the London Borough of Islington and is one of the eight that make up the Islington North constituency. The population of this ward at the 2011 Census was 13,211.It is the only other place in the historic parish of Islington mentioned in the Domesday Book (in the old form Tolentone) as a separate manor. The manor house was located beside present day Hornsey Road (known as Tollington Lane as late as 1740) and was purchased in 1271 by the priory of St John at Clerkenwell after which the manor's name fell into disuse.The ward is represented in the Borough's council by three councillors whose elections are held every four years. The ward is a very safe Labour seat, and stayed Labour even during the years when Islington Council was won by the Liberal Democrats. As of January 2022, the councillors are Milk Gilgunn, Anjna Khurana and Flora Williamson.

Theatre de l'Ange Fou is a theatre company based in London, England. Its artistic directors are Steven Wasson and Corinne Soum. It was created in Paris in 1984 and relocated to London in 1995. It was co-founded with the International School of Dramatic Corporeal Mime, formerly known as the Ecole de Mime Corporel Dramatique, a theatre school that teaches corporeal mime.

Holloway is an inner-city district of the London Borough of Islington, 3.3 miles (5.3 km) north of Charing Cross, which follows the line of the Holloway Road (A1). At the centre of Holloway is the Nag's Head commercial area which sits between the more residential Upper Holloway and Lower Holloway neighbourhoods. Holloway has a multicultural population. It is the home of Arsenal F.C., and was once home to the largest women's prison in Europe, Holloway Prison, until 2016. Prior to 1965, Holloway was in the historic county of Middlesex.

Nag's Head is a locality within the Holloway area of the London Borough of Islington.

Hornsey Road railway station was a station on Hornsey Road, near Finsbury Park, in the London Borough of Islington, which was opened in 1872 by the Tottenham & Hampstead Junction Railway. It was between Upper Holloway and Crouch Hill stations, on the line now known as the Gospel Oak to Barking Line. It was closed in 1943, and demolished soon afterwards. Its closure was due to wartime constraints and its proximity to the neighbouring stations.
