Vlachy

Sokolče is a former village which was situated in the Liptov region of Slovakia. The village was inundated by the reservoir Liptovská Mara in 1975.

Liptovská Mara (Slovak pronunciation: [ˈliptɔwskaː ˈmara]) is a reservoir in northern Slovakia, on the Váh river near Liptovský Mikuláš, in the Liptov region. The dam is named after one of the inundated villages. It was built in 1965–1975. The area of the reservoir is 22 km², max. depth is 45 m and the capacity is 360 mil. m³. During construction, thirteen villages were inundated and a major railway and road relocated. The main purpose of this dam is to prevent floods, although it also generates electricity. Today, the dam is used as a recreational site. The reconstructed Celtic oppidum Havránok is situated on a hill above the dam.

Havránok is an important archaeological site in northern Slovakia. It is on a hill above the Liptovská Mara water reservoir around 2 km (1.2 mi) from the village of Bobrovník, about halfway between Ružomberok and Liptovský Mikuláš in the Liptov region. The archaeologists unearthed a prehistoric Celtic hill fort and a medieval wooden castle in the 1960s, during the construction of the Liptovská Mara dam. Both objects have been partially reconstructed. During the Iron Age and the Roman Era, the shrine of Havránok was an important religious center of the Celts living in Slovakia.

Galovany (Hungarian: Gálfalu) is a village and municipality in Liptovský Mikuláš District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. The village merged with the former Velika Paludza village in the 19th century.
