In 2011 the settlement had a population of 3200. During the 2011 census, 89.3% of the residents identified themselves as Hungarian, 26.7% as German, 0.8% as Romanian, 0.5% as Romani, and 0.2% as Serb (10.6% did not declare). The religious distribution was as follows: Roman Catholic 62.8%, Reformed 10.3%, Lutheran 0.7%, Greek Catholic 0.4%, non-denominational 7.4% and 17.4% did not declare.

Verőce is a village and commune in Pest County in Hungary. From 1976 to 1990 the village of Verőce was merged with the village of Kismaros, to create a new merged settlement called Verőcemaros. This settlement was disestablished in 1990, when the two villages were again separated and Verőce again became a separate settlement.

Szokolya is a village in Pest county, Hungary. Szokolya is a village of two thousand residents in the largest basin of the Börzsöny Hills. The Morgó Brook runs across the village. The area is a tourist destination, 45–50 minutes from Budapest by car and on the Eurovelo bicycle route. The Nagyhideg-Hegy ski centre is open in the winter.

Pilismarót is a village in Komárom-Esztergom county, Hungary. It is located on the right bank of the Danube.

Dobogókő is a popular tourist area near Pilisszentkereszt in Hungary, and the site of the highest point in the Visegrád Hills at 699 meters. 133 people live here. Up in the hills lies the Ödön Téry Memorial, a stone pyramid built in memory of one of great pioneers of Hungarian tourism. In Dobogókő there is a tourist museum and accommodation. There are hiking possibilities to Prédikálószék, Rám-szakadék, and Árpádvár. Nearby larger settlements are Dömös and Szentendre. Dobogókő is also a pilgrimage site for Hungarian neopagans (followers of the revived Táltos faith, that is similar to shamanism) who believe that the place is the "heart chakra" of the earth.
