Brno Zoo (Czech: Zoo Brno) is a zoo located in Brno-Bystrc, a municipal district of the city of Brno, Czech Republic. It was opened in 1953.The zoo is involved in captive breeding of endangered species coordinated by the European Endangered Species Programme like the Sumatran tiger, giant Hispaniolan Galliwasp, Przewalski's horse, as well as locally threatened species like the Czech owl called the little owl, barn owl or rare rodent species the European ground squirrel and Eurasian beaver. In 2000, Brno Zoo became member in World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WZO).

Bystrc (Hantec: Bástr) is a municipal district of the city of Brno in the Czech Republic. It was formerly a village on the banks of the Svratka river, but was incorporated into the city in 1960. The Brno Zoo, Brno Reservoir, Deer Glen Nature Reserve, Krnovec Nature Reserve, Veveří Castle, Monk's Hill and Kopeček Hill (The highest peak in Brno) are located there.

Rozdrojovice is a municipality and village in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,100 inhabitants. Rozdrojovice lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north-west of Brno and 177 km (110 mi) south-east of Prague.

Medlánky airfield (Czech: Letiště Medlánky) (ICAO: LKCM) is a public aerodrome used primarily for recreational activities and ultralight general aviation. The airfield is situated in the north of Brno, a city in Czech Republic that is also home to Brno-Tuřany International Airport to the south. The airfield is named after the Brno city district of Medlánky, where the administrative and maintenance facilities are located, although its actual manoeuvring area is located in the city district of Komín.

Brno-Komín is a city district in Brno, Czech Republic, in the northwestern part of the city. It consists of the cadastral territory of Komín (German: Komein), originally an independent municipality that was annexed to Brno in 1919. Its cadastral territory has an area of 7.60 km2. The city district was established on November 24, 1990. About 8,000 inhabitants live here. For the purposes of the Senate elections, Brno-Komín is included in electoral district number 60 of the Brno-City District. Komín has the character of a smaller town with clearly visible remains of the original village development. The Komín development is concentrated in the surroundings of the Svratka river and on the adjacent northern slopes, the rest of the cadastre area consists mainly of arable land, forests and also the Medlánky Airport runway system. The original village of Komín with the church of St. Vavřinec, which is closely connected to the local panel housing estate in the north.

Jinačovice is a municipality and village in Brno-Country District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 800 inhabitants. Jinačovice lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) north-west of Brno and 178 km (111 mi) south-east of Prague.

Brno-Jundrov is a city district of Brno, Czech Republic, located in the western part of the city. It consists of most of the cadastral territory of Jundrov and a small northwestern part of the cadastral territory of Pisárky. The administrative district was established on 24 November 1990. Approximately 4,600 inhabitants live here. For the purposes of the senate elections, the territory of the Brno-Jundrov district is included in electoral district number 60 of Brno-City District.

Brno-Kohoutovice is a city district of Brno, Czech Republic, located in the western part of the city. It consists of almost the entire cadastral territory of Kohoutovice, the western part of Pisárky and a small southern part of Jundrov. The total area is 4.09 km2. The city district was established on November 24, 1990. Over 12,000 inhabitants live here. For the purposes of the senate elections, Brno-Kohoutovice is included in electoral district number 59 of the Brno-City District.

Brno-Medlánky is a city district of Brno, Czech Republic, on the northern edge of the city. It consists of the district and cadastral territory of Medlánky (German: Medlan), originally an independent municipality that was annexed to Brno in 1919. Its cadastral area is 3.51 km². The city district was established on November 24, 1990. About 6,000 people live here. The Medlánky Airfield is located in the cadastre of the district, mainly with gliders. Medlánky is also home to the V pústých vineyard track. For the purposes of the senate elections, Brno-Medlánky is included in electoral district number 60 of the Brno-City District.

Brno-Ivanovice is a city district in the north part of the city of Brno, Czech Republic. It consists of the municipal part and cadastral territory of Ivanovice (German: Eiwanowitz), originally an independent municipality that was annexed to Brno in 1971. The city district was established on 24 November 1990. Almost 2,000 people live here. For the purposes of the senate elections, Brno-Ivanovice is included in electoral district number 60 of Brno-City District.

The current city district was established on 24 November 1990. About 3,600 people live here.
