The Saracen Foundry was the better-known name for the Possilpark, Glasgow–based foundry company W MacFarlane & Co. Ltd, founded and owned by Walter MacFarlane. MacFarlane's was the most important manufacturer of ornamental ironwork in Scotland.

Possilpark & Parkhouse railway station serves the Possilpark and Parkhouse areas of Glasgow, Scotland. It is located on the Maryhill Line, 3 miles (5 km) north of Glasgow Queen Street. Services are provided by ScotRail on behalf of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport.

Possilpark is a district in the Scottish city of Glasgow, situated north of the River Clyde and centred around Saracen Street. The area developed around Saracen Foundry of Walter MacFarlane & Co., which was the main employer. In the wake of the Saracen Foundry's closure in 1967, this part of Glasgow became one of the poorest in the United Kingdom, and decades later deprivation and crime rates remain high. A variety of diverse community organisations operate in the area, providing arts, sports, health and gardening provision and community regeneration, including Young People's Futures, The Concrete Garden, Possobilities and Friends of Possilpark Greenspace. The district is served by both Possilpark & Parkhouse and Ashfield railway stations on the Maryhill Line.

Parkhouse is a neighbourhood of Glasgow, Scotland. Within the G22 postcode area and the Canal ward of the Glasgow City Council administration, it is mainly residential in character having been constructed as a development primarily consisting of cottage flats in the early 1930s, prior to which it was open farmland.It is one of two places in Glasgow called Parkhouse, the other being a more modern housing development near Nitshill in the far south of the city. However, they are rarely confused as neither is particularly well known outside local circles, and wider discussions of issues affecting the neighbourhoods take place under the names of their wider wards or constituencies.

Ruchill Hospital was a fever hospital in the Ruchill area of Glasgow, Scotland. The hospital was closed in 1998 and was sold to Scottish Enterprise in July 1999. It was managed by NHS Greater Glasgow.

Possil railway station was situated on Balmore Road, in the north of Glasgow, Scotland and served the Possilpark and Parkhouse areas of the city.

Glasgow Perthshire Football Club are a Scottish football club based in Possilpark, in the north of Glasgow. Nicknamed the Shire, they were formed on 7 November 1890 at the Waterloo Rooms in Glasgow and play at Keppoch Park, close to Saracen Park, home of Ashfield. They currently compete in the West of Scotland League Second Division and play in black and white stripes. Named after the Glasgow Perthshire Society, they were once one of the top junior sides in the country, but success has been scant in recent years. They pulled out of all competitive fixtures for the 2007–08 season, but re-entered for the 2008–09 season.

Ashfield railway station is a railway station serving the Milton and Parkhouse areas of Glasgow, Scotland. It is located on the Maryhill Line, 2+1⁄2 miles (4 km) north of Glasgow Queen Street, a short distance west of Cowlairs North Junction. It has two side platforms. Services are provided by ScotRail on behalf of Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT).

Hamiltonhill is a residential neighbourhood in the Scottish city of Glasgow, situated between Possilpark to the north and east and Port Dundas to the south. To the west of Hamiltonhill is a nature reserve bordering the Forth and Clyde Canal's Glasgow Branch section (with Firhill Stadium on the opposite bank). The neighbourhood falls under the Canal ward of Glasgow City Council. The area consisted primarily of Rehousing (low build quality) grey reconstituted stone tenements from the 1930s. Many of these blocks were refurbished in the 1990s, but by the 2010s almost all had been demolished along with the local schools (St Cuthbert's Primary, which was relocated in 2012 to a new facility in Ruchill Park, closer to parts of the district where new homes had already been built) and Wester Common Primary. Another new school complex for children residing locally, 'Keppoch Campus', was also constructed on the eastern side of Possilpark in the 2000s. Some cottage flats dating from the same period as the tenements were retained, with the result that several clusters of surviving homes in Hamiltonhill were surrounded by expanses of empty waste ground in every direction.In 2018, the local Queens Cross Housing Association published a renewal masterplan for the area involving over 600 new homes.

Lambhill is an area in the city of Glasgow, Scotland. It is situated north of the River Clyde, approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the city centre.Lambhill is a mainly residential area comprising both council and private housing. Residents are of a mixed age group. Lambhill has been in existence since the middle 18th Century, the original settlement probably coming from the north bank of the Forth and Clyde Canal (known as the Shangi, after a sailing captain who mentioned that the settlement reminded him of Shanghai). Many working men were employed in the nearby mine in Cadder. In nearby Lambhill Cemetery there is a memorial to the Cadder Pit disaster of 3 August 1913, which claimed 22 lives. The funeral service for the disaster was held in St Agnes Church on Balmore Road. Benny Lynch the great Glasgow boxer also is buried in Lambhill Cemetery which is bordered by Western Necropolis. Hillend Road would appear to be one of the earliest streets to be built and the houses are of mixed vintage and build. The tenements are probably the oldest. At one time the Lord Provost of Glasgow David Hodge stayed in this street, as did John Logie Baird who took lodgings there. At the top of Hillend Road there is a golf course which is bordered by Ruchill on the opposite side. There are also numerous abandoned railway tunnels which would appear to link to the abandoned Botanic Gardens railway station. The Halloween Pen is a small tunnel which runs underneath the Forth and Clyde Canal and links Lambhill to Ruchill. Bordering the south side of Hillend Rd are the garden allotments. Near to the allotments, on Balmore Road, is the ticket office of a station for an abandoned railway line.

Saracen Park or Ashfield Stadium, also known as Peugeot Ashfield Stadium for sponsorship reasons, is a stadium in Glasgow, Scotland. It is currently shared by Ashfield F.C. for football and the Glasgow Tigers for speedway. It has also previously been a venue for greyhound racing. The ground was originally opened for football in 1937.
