Cimavilla (Spanish: Cimadevilla) is a neighbourhood of the municipality of Gijón, in Asturias, Spain. Its population was 2,811 in 2012.Cimavilla is the oldest part of the city, in it there are ruins of the old Roman settlement. In the 16th century, a port is built in the neighbourhood and it converts it in a residential area for sailors and starts the expansion of Gijón to the south. In the East of Cimavilla is located the Royal Astur Yacht Club, with the first swimming pool of Gijón, built in the first years of the 20th century. Nowadays, Cimavilla's houses are rehabilitated and the neighbourhood is a residential, commercial and leisure area. At the top of the hill is located the Elogio del Horizonte (Eulogy to the Horizon), built by Eduardo Chillida.

The Campo Valdés Roman baths were public baths constructed in Gijón, Spain, near the end of the first century. They fell out of use in the fourth century before being used as a necropolis and covered by a plaza. In 1903, the baths were rediscovered and excavated during the construction of a sewer system in the area. The site of the baths was turned into a museum, which opened in March 1995. The site was declared a Bien de Interés Cultural in 1987, and the museum was Gijón's most visited in 2023.

The Juan Barjola Museum of Painting is a museum located in Gijon, principality of Asturias, Spain. The museum was inaugurated in 1988, after a donation by artist Juan Barjola of 104 works from the years 1950–1988. It is under the auspices of the Cultural Council of the Principality of Asturias. The museum is located in the Trinidad Complex, a four-storied historical building.

Castillo de Salas was a Spanish bulk carrier that was launched in Ferrol on 20 December 1979 and completed in August 1980. It measured over 50,000 gross tons, and had a deadweight of over 100,000 tons, measured approximately 250 metres (820 ft) in length, 40 metres (130 ft) across the beam, and 14.5 metres (48 ft) in draft. It required a crew complement of 32.

The Asturias Railway Museum or Gijón Railway museum (Museo del Ferrocarril de Asturias), in Gijón, Asturias, Spain, is an institution dedicated to restore, preserve and display to the public the railway history of Asturias. It was inaugurated on October 22, 1998 by the current king Felipe VI as Prince of Asturias in that moment. The centre is economically supported by Gijón City Council, and it’s integrated in the museums municipal network. It’s one of the most important Spanish railways museums. The museum is located at the old North Train Station of Gijón, very near Poniente Beach. It occupies more than 14,000 m2 and includes the original station, built in 1874, two new buildings and railway tracks.

Gijón Railway Station, also known as Gijón Sanz Crespo, is the main railway station of Gijón, Spain. Since 2011 it is located in Sanz Crespo street due to the works for the Metrotrén Asturias project. It is the terminus for Alvia services from Madrid, Alicante, León, Valladolid and Barcelona, as well as Intercity and Media Distancia services from Madrid, Valladolid and León. It is also the last destination for four Cercanías commuter railway lines. The station was built in 2009 in order to find an alternative for Gijón-Jovellanos / La Braña and Gijón-Cercanías that were planned to be demolished in order to free up the area for the construction of the Metrotrén, a project to extend the train line underground. As of 2021, Gijón Sanz Crespo remains as the only station serving Gijón downtown, and even though the tunnels have been dug, there is no clear plan on where the new station will be built or even if it will be built at all.

El Musel is a seaport located in the north of Spain in Asturias, and in the middle point of the Cantabrian Sea coast, it is the Port of Gijón as a gateway to Europe through the A-66 and A-8 highways, allowing direct access to the west and centre of the Iberian Peninsula.

Unión Club Ceares is a Spanish football team based in the neighbourhood of Ceares, Gijón, in the autonomous community of Asturias. Founded in 1946, it plays in Tercera Federación – Group 2, holding home games at Campo de La Cruz, which has a capacity of 1,500 spectators.

The Plaza de Toros de El Bibio is a bullring located in Gijón, Asturias, Spain. Situated in the neighbourhood of El Bibio, it was inaugurated on August 12, 1888, with a bullfighting with Luis Mazzantini and Rafael Guerra, Guerrita.The bullring was partially destroyed between July and August 1936, in the context of Spanish Civil War. In August 1937, after the city was taken by the Nationalist faction, Francoist troops used its ruins as a temporary concentration camp for Republican prisoners.It was renovated in 1997. On March 20, 1992, it was declared Bien de Interés Cultural.Apart from bullfighting, the ring is also used for music concerts.

Estadio El Molinón (Spanish pronunciation: [esˈta.ðjo el mo.liˈnon]), officially Estadio Municipal El Molinón-Enrique Castro "Quini", is an association football stadium in Gijón, Asturias, Spain. The stadium is the home ground of Real Sporting de Gijón. With a capacity of 29,371 seats, El Molinón is the 20th largest stadium in Spain and the second largest in Asturias.

The Museum of the Asturian People (Spanish: Museo del Pueblo de Asturias; Asturian: Muséu del Pueblu d'Asturies) is a museum in Gijón, Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is an open-air artspace containing Asturian popular art installations, large ethnographic items, and three buildings: Casa de los Valdes: temporary exhibition space Casa de los González de la Vega: site of the International Bagpipe Museum, including a collection of traditional Asturian musical instruments. The Asturian Pavilion from the 1992 Universal Exposition of Seville, installed at the museum in 1994.The museum is also known as Asturian Village (Spanish: Pueblo de Asturias; Asturian: Pueblu d'Asturies), since pueblo (in Asturian language, pueblu) means both village and people, and the museum documents the culture of Asturian people, while being in a setting that contains rural buildings and houses, resembling a traditional Asturian village.
