Zinkensdamm is a Stockholm metro station in Södermalm, Stockholm, Sweden. The station was opened on 5 April 1964 as part of the first stretch of the Red line, between T-Centralen and Fruängen. The surrounding area is known for the Zinkensdamms IP sports grounds, the Tantolunden Park, the Drakenberg area, and the STF Zinken hostel.

Mojang AB, trading as Mojang Studios, is a Swedish video game developer based in Stockholm. A first-party developer for Xbox Game Studios, the studio is best known for developing the sandbox and survival game Minecraft, the best-selling video game of all time. Mojang Studios was founded by the independent video game designer Markus Persson in 2009 as Mojang Specifications for Minecraft's development. The studio inherited its name from another video game venture Persson had left two years prior. Following the game's initial release, Persson, in conjunction with Jakob Porsér, incorporated the business in late 2010, and they hired Carl Manneh as the company's chief executive officer. Other early hires included Daniel Kaplan and Jens Bergensten. Minecraft became highly successful, giving Mojang sustained growth. With a desire to move on from the game, Persson offered to sell his share in Mojang, and the company was acquired by Microsoft in November 2014. Persson, Porsér, and Manneh subsequently left Mojang. In May 2020, Mojang was rebranded as Mojang Studios. As of 2021, the company employs approximately 600 people and has additional locations in London, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Redmond, Washington, where Microsoft is headquartered. Kayleen Walters is the studio head. Apart from Minecraft, Mojang Studios has developed Caller's Bane, Crown and Council, and further games in the Minecraft franchise: Minecraft Dungeons, Minecraft Legends, and the cancelled Minecraft Earth. It also released smaller games as part of game jams organised by Humble Bundle and published the externally developed Cobalt and Cobalt WASD.

Zinkensdamms idrottsplats, usually Zinkensdamms IP or colloquially Zinken or Zinkens, is a sports ground in Södermalm in central Stockholm, Sweden. The ground was designed by architect Paul Hedqvist and was inaugurated on 18 May 1937 with a football game between Reymersholms IK and Djurgårdens IF.Nowadays, it is mainly known for bandy, because Hammarby IF, playing in the highest bandy league in Sweden (Elitserien), use it as its home ground. The ice can be artificially frozen since 1986. It is also used as the home ground for association football team Reymersholms IK and American football team Stockholm Mean Machines. Matches were played at the 1997 European Lacrosse Championships.

Folkoperan is an opera house in Stockholm, Sweden, at Hornsgatan 72 in the southern district of Södermalm. It is one of Stockholm's most successful opera houses in terms of audience attendance, and is considered Sweden's most important stage for freelance opera singers and musicians.

Riddarfjärden (Swedish: [ˈrɪ̂dːarˌfjæːɖɛn], "The Knight Firth") is the easternmost bay of Lake Mälaren in central Stockholm. Stockholm was founded in 1252 on an island in the stream where Lake Mälaren (from the west) drains into the Baltic Sea (to the east); today the island is called Stadsholmen and constitutes Stockholm's Old Town. St. Paul's Church, also known as St. Paul's Chapel (Swedish: Sankt Paulskyrkan), is a former United Methodist Church of Sweden church located in Mariatorget, a square and a city park in Södermalm, central Stockholm. The parish church, an 1876 neo-Gothic brick structure, was designed by the Swedish architects and brothers Axel and Hjalmar Kumlien.The congregation was formed in 1868, the first Methodist church in Sweden. In 2013 it became part of the Uniting Church in Sweden (Swedish: Equmeniakyrkan) with the formation of that denomination. Owing to its declining enrollment, the remaining parishioners dissolved the parish and sold the church to Stockholm Stadsmission, a local charitable organization, in 2015.

The Blue Hall (Swedish: Blå hallen) is the main hall of the Stockholm City Hall best known as the banquet hall for the annual Nobel Banquet, and also used for state visits, student balls, jubilees and other large events.

Mariatorget (the Maria Square) is a square and a city park in the district of Södermalm in Stockholm, Sweden.

Eldkvarn was a grand gristmill in central Stockholm that burned in 1878 — an event which was known as "the fire of the century". It was located where today the Stockholm City Hall stands. The mill was built in 1805 for Abraham Niclas Edelcrantz with a steam engine built by Samuel Owen. At the time of the blaze, the fire was known as the fire of the century, because of its ferocity and the fact that it could be seen from many points of the city, dominating the skyline. It was a moment that gripped the city in horror, as citizens watched the fire rage and fill the night sky.

The City of Stockholm (Swedish: Stockholms stad) was a city in Sweden and 1863–1970 a city municipality for Stockholm, subordinate to the Office of the Governor of Stockholm until 1967 and then part of Stockholm County.

Stockholm City Hall (Swedish: Stockholms stadshus, Stadshuset locally) is the seat of Stockholm Municipality in Stockholm, Sweden. It stands on the eastern tip of Kungsholmen island, next to Riddarfjärden's northern shore and facing the islands of Riddarholmen and Södermalm. It houses offices and conference rooms as well as ceremonial halls. It is the venue of the Nobel Prize banquet and is one of Stockholm's major tourist attractions.

Mariatorget metro station is a station on the red line of the Stockholm metro, located in the district of Södermalm beneath Mariatorget. The station was opened on 5 April 1964 as part of the first stretch of the Red line, between T-Centralen and Fruängen. Stockholm South Station is about five minutes away on Swedenborgsgatan.
