The Symbolic Globe is a monument, since November 1995 situated on the piazza of UNESCO in Paris, France, surrounded by the flags of all nations, pointing out that this is the headquarters of the international organization. The Symbolic Globe was originally conceived for the United Nations Summit on Social Development, March 1995.[1] During the Summit, it was built in the centre of Copenhagen by the delegates, who had come from every corner of the earth. Transferred to the piazza of UNESCO in Paris, the Symbolic Globe was inaugurated on 7 November 1995 by Federico Mayor.

It has over 150 members, mainly NGOs and civil society, corporate organisations, professional bodies and research institutions who are working in the prevention of blindness. The Place de Fontenoy (French pronunciation: ​[plas də fɔ̃tənwa]) is a square in Paris, France, named after the victory of Maréchal Maurice de Saxe in the Battle of Fontenoy. At number 7, Place de Fontenoy are the UNESCO Headquarters, the World Heritage Centre.The purpose of this building is currently to serve as a basic headquarters of the UNESCO group.

Sèvres–Lecourbe (French pronunciation: ​[sɛvʁ ləkuʁb]) is an elevated station of the Paris Métro serving line 6 at the intersection of several streets including the Rue de Sèvres and the Rue Lecourbe in the 15th arrondissement. This station is one of a small number of elevated Paris Métro stations. The tracks emerge from underground near the Pasteur station at Rue de Vaugirard and remain elevated through four more stations, crossing the Seine on Pont de Bir-Hakeim and descending underground west of the Seine near the Passy station. Visitors have excellent views of several notable landmarks from this station and its trains.
