Ashok Nagar Metro station is a Metro railway station on the Line 2 of the Chennai Metro, which is currently under operation. The station is among the elevated stations coming up along corridor II of the Chennai Metro, Chennai Central–St. Thomas Mount stretch. The station will serve the neighbourhoods of Ashok Nagar and Mambalam.

Wavoo Wajeeha Women's College of Arts & Science, is a women's premium self-finance degree college located in Kayalpatnam, Thoothukudi district, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 2006. The college is affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. This college offers different courses in Arts, Commerce and Science in both Under Graduate and Post Graduate. The college was established by the Wavoo SAR Educational Trust. The primary objective of the institution is to provide higher education to the girls in the rural area without any discrimination of caste, creed and religion, bringing out their inherent abilities to make them highly qualified, morally sound, socially disciplined and technically competent individuals. The college was started with 124 students and 12 staff members in the academic year 2006-2007, has grown steadily. At present it has 1,500 students enrolled in various disciplines of Arts and Sciences, both in undergraduate and post-graduate levels, with more than 75 teaching faculty, and more than 45 members of non-teaching and supporting staff.

Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha Perumal is a Hindu temple in Saidapet, Chennai, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is dedicated to Venkateswara, an incarnation of the Hindu deity Vishnu. It was constructed during the 15th century, but, according to historical records and inscriptions found within the temple, may consist of elements dating back more than 1000 years. The temple was constructed during the era when the South India was under the rule of the Vijayanagara Empire. The temple is also known as "Prasanna Venkata Narshimar" due to the visit of Theliyasingher who is kovthugar of the temple. Hindu Mythology states that Sri Prasanna Venkata Narasimha is incarnated with his divine consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi, facing east, in the Garbha Graha (sanctum sanctorum) of the temple.

K.K. Nagar (shortened from Kalaignar Karunanidhi Nagar) is a neighbourhood located in the southern part of Chennai, India. This is situated west of Ashok Nagar and the Chennai Airport is around 10 km southwest of this place. K.K. Nagar was a locality developed in the 1970s and early 1980s. K.K. Nagar is roughly 5 km2 in area. K.K. Nagar is organized by sectors and streets, and there are 15 sectors, and around 102 streets.

Ayodhya Mandapam is a common meeting hall type of building-structure specifically made for the purpose of sath-sangamam (association of like-minded or common interest on religious development/discourses) at West Mambalam, Chennai, India. The mandapam is managed by Sri Ram Samaj. who also operate Mithilapuri Kalyana Mandapam - a marriage hall, Sri Sitaram Vidyalaya school and Gnanavapi - a place for conducting funeral rites. The Mandapam was constructed in 1964 and initially it was open to the Iyers of Mambalam (a set of Brahmin Community). Later it was made available for all the other communities. Till now it is known for the association/meeting point for Brahmin community. Periodic discourses on Vedas and Upanishads as well as several cultural meet-outs are handled throughout the year. In the month of March–April of every year, programmes in connection to Rama Navami Maha-utsav is very special at Ayodhya Mandapam. In January 2014, this society was taken over by HR & CE department of Tamil Nadu Government. After protest by the general public/ the Chief Justice of Madras High Court stayed the proceedings of the Tamil Nadu Government. As usual Sri Ram Samaj is managed by the committee appointed by General Body of Sri Ram Samaj. Sri Ram Samaj is a registered society, managed by the elected body of 15 people. It consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Asst. Secretary and the Treasurer.

The 2005 December Chennai stampede incident happened on 18 December 2005 in a school at MGR Nagar in Chennai, the capital of the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu, where the relief supplies were distributed by the state government for the people affected by severe flooding. There were 42 deaths in the accident, which left another 37 injured. The state government appointed a one-man commission under retired justice A. Raman to look into the enquiry. The state government also announced a compensation of ₹100,000 for all the victims and ₹15,000 for the injured. During 2005, there were heavy rains in Tamil Nadu and its coastal areas were flooded. Many people were rendered homeless by flooding during November and December. Relief measures were announced by the government that necessitated collecting tokens from authorities in different centres across the city.

Ekkattuthangal, also known as Ekkaduthangal or Ekkatuthangal, is a neighborhood in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu, India. It is surrounded by Jafferkhanpet, Guindy and Ramapuram. Area pincode is 600032, and previously it was 600097. The neighborhood is known for factories involved in lathes, milling, and welding. The neighborhood is located close to Kathipara Junction, which is the center point of the city, connecting to Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus, Chennai International Airport, Chennai Central railway station and Sriperumbudur. This area is also known for having two big Media houses Jaya TV and Pudiyathala Murai. Abutting the Guindy Industrial Estate, the region is experiencing rapid growth including technology parks like Olympia Tech Park, Thamarai Tech Park and Virtusa and five-star luxury hotels such as the Hilton Chennai. The Chennai Metro railway station at Ekkattuthangal became operational on 29 June 2015.

Vadapalani is a neighbourhood in the city of Chennai in Tamil Nadu, India. It is known for its film studios and the Vadapalani Andavar Temple, which is an important pilgrimage centre. Situated in the western part of Chennai, Vadapalani is an important bus terminus on Arcot Road. Vadapalani is one of the busiest and densely populated areas in Chennai.
